I had made a booking for 2 for the evening of Feb 22, 2017 and specifically requested the seats by the window at the far end from the entrance. I had made a booking for 2 for the evening of Feb 22, 2017 and specifically requested the seats by the window at the far end from the entrance. I was assured that the requested seats would be available and the restaurant called on the day to reconfirm my reservation. When we arrived, we discovered that our seats had been taken. The manager explained that the customers who were sitting in our seats had sat down by themselves without any of the staff attending to them, and we asked why they weren't informed that the seats were reserved. No explanation was given, and instead he simply apologized. We continued to express our dissatisfaction and frustration at the situation, and the manager then proceeded to ask the 2 ladies sitting in our seats if they would mind moving elsewhere. They were in the middle of their meal already and understandably refused, and this made the whole situation even more awkward and uncomfortable. No other action was taken by the manager to compensate for their mistake, for example, he could've offered to seat us in our requested seats after the 2 ladies were done and given us drinks on the house while we waited. Instead he just kept on apologizing which did nothing to fix the situation. Terrible service with an extremely inept manager. We ended up leaving and going to a newly opened French wine bar on Elgin Street, where we had much more pleasant experience.
