The weather was beautiful today so me and my friend decided to go hiking! Before we start walking, we went to this popular Chinese restaurant to "yum cha". The restaurant was packed with people, a lot of them were going hiking as well. Everything is self-serve here, you need to get your own chopsticks, cup and tea. Everyone seems to be very familiar with the routine so we just follow ours. After finding our own seat and settled down, we went downstair to choose the food, everyone just need to gr
The shrimp dumpling was delicious, the pastry was thin with lots of shrimps inside.
The pork ribs were very yummy, it was meaty and full of black bean flavour.
The beef balls were beefy and big.
The quail egg sumai was new to me, I've had never try this before. My friend said they only have it in the old Chinese restaurant. The bottom part actually tasted like normal sumai but with the quail egg on the top, it was quite special. I found that the chicken feet weren't that nice, they didn't cut the nail so have to be careful not to poke yourself. The flavour wasn't that nice, it was very plain. The turnip cake was the best!👍 It was also first time to try steam one not the fries one. The texture was so thick, they sure did use lots of turnip unlike the others. It was very solid but soft at the same time. Don't expect much from other ingredients, turnip is the main ingredient here. The deep fried salty bun was delicious when it's hot. The pastry was crunchy, the fillings was salty but tasted good as a whole.
