Spring has almost arrived and Epure has revamped their outdoor area into a lovely garden with a matching afternoon tea.Despite being a coffee lover, I remember how delicious their chocolate is so we ordered their iced chocolate especially since it was quite warm outside(but then it seemed such a waste not to admire their decoration with the afternoon tea if we had chosen indoors)The iced chocolate was as rich as I remembered without being too sweet. The iced chocolate was as rich as I remembered without being too sweet. The ice they used also was just right without diluting the drink.
The tea set came and it matched the decor so much. Each food item was exquisite. My favorite savory would be the extra rich cherry tomatoes. It was so delicately made where tomato flesh inside was removed and filled with their own concentrated tomato jelly.
For dessert, I loved the chestnut opera the most but the biggest surprise would be the peppermint chocolate roulade. Usually I don't like peppermint desserts as they are quite overpowering but the balance of the flavors here were just right.
One point I felt that could have made the experience more enjoyable was explaining a bit about the champagne pairing. Although this is not a wine pairing meal, the champagne paired most well with the savory, especially the smoked salmon/caviar. When you enjoy it with the dessert, it actually become a bit too brut. The price is definitely on the higher end though given the environment and food quality, it's definitely worth the price(though 4 scones would have been better).
