After finishing a hike, we were famished! We ended up in North Point, just by the wet market and were looking for something to satisfy our appetite. With many ground floor restaurants filling up, we decided to try Pizza Hut for lunch. I think most of us know what to expect in terms of the type of food here (the clue is in the name), it's one of the most well-known pizza chains in the world and if you haven't heard of it before, then I think it's time you stepped out from that rock you've been hi
The GOOD
*Wait time was only a few minutes - We were sat down pretty swiftly, though we did ask to be moved to a more comfortable booth, which the staff member was happy to help with.
*Clean and spacious - Tables were all cleared as we arrived.
*Reasonable variety and set menus - There was somewhat a variety options within bread, rice and spaghetti-based dishes and the set menu gave choices that most people would find adequate.
*Service was fast - Staff were attentive and food came out fast and efficiently.
*Food portion was decent - I'm a big eater and was particularly hungry that time, but felt satisfied with the amount that was served.
*Pizza was good - The bread was crispy on the inside and soft on the inside and toppings were applied nice and evenly.
*Value for money - We signed up to the app as members (free) and managed to get 10% discount as well as free dishes (in this case, we got a Hawaiian pizza thrown in)
The BAD
*Not many healthier options - I know, you go to a place called 'Pizza Hut' and expect a salad?! But the point I am trying to make is that there are a few salads but not that many to entice the healthier eater. I went with a group of people so it’s not unreasonable to expect that within a group, there might be an odd person or 2 that would want something lighter to eat - of course, this is just a minor criticism.
*Carb heavy - Expect to be a bit bloated after eating here, with bread, pasta or rice being the base for most of the dishes, you will have to put up with the semi-pregnant look after
*Not many drinks to choose from - Not a big deal really, but I guess being able to choose the type of coffee for example, would be a bit nicer for some.
*Bland tasting, average quality - Apart from the pizza, which I personally thought was quite nice, perhaps a tad greasy, but not bad. I thought the taste of the chicken, ribs and especially the spaghetti were adequate, but not especially impressive. There was a lack of flavour and seasoning so perhaps would be suited for those with a lighter palette but the ribs for example, did not slide off the bone and there wasn't as much meat as I expected from them.
FINAL VERDICT:
-Yeah not bad for a lunch once in a while but wear those loose pants because you're gonna need them!
