My friend n I went to Felix last night for dinner. I had not been there for a while and my first impression when I arrived on 28/F was “oh this restaurant is looking tired”. The carpet at the lift lobby is probably due for a replacement. We were promptly escorted to a corner table by the window with a city view. Thank you. I would have preferred a more comfortable chair rather than one that just looked trendy.
Service was overall very good through out. Our set menu was lobster focused and all the dishes were tasty and well presented. We added $500 each for 3 glasses of wine to pair with our dishes but we did not get 3 glasses of wine. We got a tiny bit of wine in 3 glasses. If I put all the liquid into one glass it would have been half filled so this was disappointing that we paid $500 for half a glass of wine - not good value for money compared to the exquisite dishes served.
At end of the dinner, I had rose tea and it was very good. My friend’s flat white was also good. The petit fours were a delight.
Overall a good dining experience. The restaurant was almost full at one point but it was not noisy at all which was really pleasant.
I urge the management to review their “glass of wine” quantity. It really was the only flaw in our otherwise satisfied dinner and The Peninsula really did not have to be so tight.
