Our day in Yuen Long was coming to an end and we decided to finish it off with a dinner before heading home. We cme across a place called 過橋麵檔 (English name: Kau Kiu Noodles). But it didn't serve noodles but various chicken dishes.The place isn't very big but you can opt to sit outside. Menu is in English and Chinese.I had the steamed chicken, ginger and spring onion with a vegetarian rice ($57 for a small size). For a small size, it was pretty big! I had the steamed chicken, ginger and spring onion with a vegetarian rice ($57 for a small size). For a small size, it was pretty big! The rice was shaped like a pyramid and wow .. that was alot of rice. However, the rice was a bit bland and dry for vegetable rice. The chicken was ok. Not that very well seasoned and the meat was a bit too soft. However, portions was a lot.
Boyfriend ordered a beef brisket curry ($59) and it came with regular rice. Portion was huge as well. The curry wa s flavorful but super spicy. It came with coconut milk on the side which boyfriend thought was wonderful as he could slowly mix it in on his own. The brisket was soft and tender and soaked up all the curry sauce well.
The chicken was ok. I've had better but at least portions were big. Boyfriend liked his curry more. It was ok but I doubt we'd be back.
