Yesterday after off duty early in the afternoon I walked across the buzzy street of Yuen Long where I stumbled across this tofu dessert eatery, and the information that I've once seen in openrice.com sprang up to my mind that this is one of the very popular eateries in Yuen Long.The whole eatery is so tiny as there are no more than five seats inside, all seats are makeshift with folding table and chairs being used, and I could see some customers were actually standing nearby holding and relishin
The whole eatery is so tiny as there are no more than five seats inside, all seats are makeshift with folding table and chairs being used, and I could see some customers were actually standing nearby holding and relishing a bowl of tofu custard or a few pieces of other desserts that the eatery is famous of.
Actually I waited for about 5 minutes before I could get a seat sharing a table with a few teenagers in their school uniforms after school, or housewives I thought had happened to pass by after shopping in nearby wet markets for the evening's meal of their families, the whole set up was so casual and close to daily lives of the hoi polloi, comfortable and relaxing!
I originally wanted to order the black bean tofu custard that the shop is so famous of but the waitress told me that I had to wait for an extra half hour for it, so I ordered the standard tofu custard instead. I think eating is forever a pleasure and enjoyable experience that should not be tinged with regret or stubbornness, so that good mood is always as important as good food when it comes to enjoying food!
The tofu custard was velvet with soya bean fragrance, up to very high standard, and a whole raft of different seasoning from grinded cane sugar, honey, to ginger juice were placed on the table. I suggest you to try the ginger juice, very special and refreshing and I can testify that it is a very good partner with the tofu custard. Surely not a place for customer to stay long, as the next batch has already been waiting outside for sometimes!張貼
