Lunched here and sat at the bar to watch the frying and soak up the food smells.I was famished and decided to go for the pork and ginger with rice. I was served the following, in order of yummiliciousness1) Steamed rice - rice at numero uno lol? You bet . This was the real deal, I could actually pick up a lump of rice neatly and could feel each distinctive grain.The texture was just right, and the rice aroma was there too. It was this good, and I am not a keen rice-eater. Forgot to ask what rice
I was famished and decided to go for the pork and ginger with rice. I was served the following, in order of yummiliciousness:
(1) Steamed rice - rice at numero uno lol? You bet . This was the real deal, I could actually pick up a lump of rice neatly and could feel each distinctive grain.The texture was just right, and the rice aroma was there too. It was this good, and I am not a keen rice-eater. Forgot to ask what rice cooker they use lol. Must add that my hunger did not impair my judgment that much.
(2) Pork with onion and ginger - this was served in a nice iron pot and the 8 or so pork slices were succulent, although a tad on the sweet side. There was actually more onion than ginger. The portion was a good size and the sauce went very well with the rice.
(3) Green tea mousse cake - this was a surprise. It was a bit of a dull green and I wasn't expecting much. But the taste was creamy and the crust was buttery and rich.
(4) Steamed egg - the usual taste and contents of mushroom, pork and fake crabstick but the egg was quite solid in a smooth way and not runny.
(5) Salad - the usual healthy option there for psychological reasons.
(6) Miso - the usual kind served pretty hot.
Overall a satisfying experience and I finished everything on my plate lol. My excuse is I am an eco-conscious person who is not wasteful hehe. It was also fun to watch the chefs busying themselves with the frying.
