With the high rents in Central many of the traditional local Chinese homemade places have gone in recent years. Wai Kee is one of the rare places in Central where you can still find cheap traditional homemade dishes like congees, rice rolls (cheong fun) and turnip cake (lor bak go).That morning I came to pick up a serving of pure cheong fun ($10) and a serving of lor bak go ($10). That morning I came to pick up a serving of pure cheong fun ($10) and a serving of lor bak go ($10). It came with soya sauce and I added some seasame seeds myself (self serve). Both the cheong fun and lor bak go tasted fresh and natural. And it was quite a filling meal despite the pure ingredients.
