We passed by Hollywood Road and needed to find somewhere for a late lunch. With our nice dining experience at Cupping Room in Wan Chai not so long ago, we decided to try out this Doubleshot by Cupping Room.
Without any reservation, it took us about 12 minutes to get a table for 2. It was such a popular restaurant that we had to wait even during such period of time after normal lunch hour on a week day.
Their menu was quite simple yet there were a lot of choices of small plates for you to try out more of their items at your preferred combo. We decided to share a lunch set which offered much better value than ordering from their a la carte menu and a few desserts which looked so tempting even with pure written description without any photos on their menu. It turned out that our decision was right because I liked their desserts!
For our lunch set, we picked the following three items. I liked how flexible they were to let you choose your favourite options for the lunch sets. Our choices were relatively light to leave quota for the desserts!

Grilled Turbot was bone-in fillets roasted simply and topped with a beurre blanc foam. The presentation was so nice with the pretty foam on top which looked so detailed. The fish was smooth and the skin was crispy. It was a very healthy option.

Portobello Mushrooms were soy-glazed and pan-seared sliced mushrooms with sesame sprinkled on top. The mushrooms were quite fresh.
Crispy Brussels Sprouts
Crispy Brussels Sprouts were cooked with Vietnamese style vinaigrette with mint and cilantro. Crispy indeed! After my whole meal, the flavour of this dish lingered in my throat for so so long.
We ordered 3 desserts to share. I had to say that all of their desserts looked pretty tempting! Let's forget about calories for now. I was glad that we had tried 3 out of their 4 desserts already!

Burnt Cheesecake sounded so special as I hadn't seen similar desserts elsewhere. It was the famous Basque cheesecake from La Vina in San Sebastian. To my surprise, it was served cold. I had expected a slightly warm cheesecake. It was quite cute and was not too heavy after being shared by us two.

Salted Caramel Tart was a lightly salted toffee and Valrhona Guanaja 70% chocolate ganache tart, sprinkled by some chocolate powder on top. The chocolate ganache was quite thick and rich in chocolate yet not overly sweet.

The highlight of the meal was Uji Matcha Lava Cake! It was made of premium matcha from Japan and Valrhona Extra Bitter 61% dark chocolate served with vanilla ice cream. It was the best dish among all. The chocolate cake smelt so good when served. The matcha lava was flowing out in large portion. It was so warm and went great with the vanilla ice cream served on the side and Uji Matcha powder sprinkled on top. There were three slices of strawberries on the side. At such a price, I had to say that it was super value for money!
Environment was quite relaxing with pop music being played. Interior decoration was quite modern and it was quite like an open office nowadays. I liked how they served our dishes at different times so that we could finish one after another without leaving some of them cold.
Last but not the least, don’t forget to try the Uji Matcha Lava Cake during your next visit.
