Having Ruby Tuesday's membership for sure is a regular customer, this time inviting my dear friends to share the goodness in the Causeway Bay branch. Staff was welcoming and led us to our seats. Environment was modern with bright lightings. Love they offer quite a lot of comfortable sofa seats. Staff was welcoming and led us to our seats. Environment was modern with bright lightings. Love they offer quite a lot of comfortable sofa seats. A bar was set in the middle of the restaurant which kind of having a similar design with the British pub. Staff thoughtfully offered wet wipes for hands sanitising before starting the meal.
Our feast included loaded nachos, truffle cheese fries, full rack of ribs in barbecue sauce, marinara fried chicken mac and cheese. And for dessert, we requested the apple crumble and chocolate molten cake.
Loaded nachos were come as its name. Loads! Mountain of toppings. Appreciated their generous amount of cheese and tomato salsa. Tortilla crisps were crispy with the melted cheese, it was indulgent. Love to pair with their red kidney beans, cheese toppings with their homemade guacamole, it was a mixture of flavours. Shall have asked to serve the sour cream on the side next time as not as creamy as we wished for, ending up we didn't even touch it. Not bad.
Truffle cheese fries were come exactly like the picture from the menu. Big pile of freshly fried fries covered with gooey cheese sauce drizzled with truffle sauce. Glad they served fresh, the gooey cheese sauce didn't make the fries become soggy. Fries remained its crisp while well coated with the cheese sauce. Once again, well drizzle of truffle sauce that just enough to cover most of the fries. Kept their potato and cheese mixed flavour but still gave a hint of truffle flavour.
Rack of ribs was a perfect portion for four. Each person could eat around 2-3 ribs. Perfect to share. Ribs were well grilled that meat was tender and easily to fork out. Meat remained its moisture. Each ribs were fully coated with its own barbecue sauce. Every bite was a smoky sweet taste. Absolutely delicious. It was also served with two scoops of potato mash and some grilled vegetables. Potato mash was a bit lumpy. You could tell from its appearance. Grill vegetables was alright, but not serving in hot.
Marinara fried chicken mac and cheese was another indulgent dish. It was serving freshly made. Macaroni was cooked just right with al dante texture, well mixed with cheese sauce that filled each macaroni with their sauce. Every dig was an explosion of cheesy flavour. Paired with the tanginess of the marinara, whole dish wasn't as heavy as we thought it might be. Chicken was cooked just right. Kept its moisture but the batter was already soggy. Maybe baking with the marinara made it becoming soggy before serving. Not bad. It would be appreciated if it's a crispy baked mac and cheese for extra texture and flavour.
Apple crumble was a slight disappointment. From its appearance, I really thought it was served in a hot iron pan; in fact a plastic iron pan looking dish. It was served warm that not hot enough to melt the big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Apple slices were very thin and not as many as could fill the whole pan. Apple was sweet with cinnamon flavour, well cooked to soft. Crumbles were generous to fill up the dish and the gaps that small apple slices unable to fill. Crumbles were buttery and crispy. I will be more impressed if oats or nut mixture can be mixing in for extra nuttiness and a crunch.
Chocolate molten cake was again alright. Medium size that just enough to split in four. You could tell they used dark cocoa powder but it didn't taste as chocolatey or bittersweet as it look. Kept it's moment of truth. Oozing out chocolate while cake batter cooked just right. Again it wasn't serving as hot and steamy as it could melt the ice cream. Such a shame. Not as chocolate-y as we hope it could be.
Maybe dessert wasn't their signatures but appreciate their generous good quality vanilla ice cream serving on each dessert. It was definitely a lift.
We also requested couple drinks while I requested a mocktail cucumber mojito. It was a nice refreshing icy fizzy drink. Not as sweet as a cocktail but nice to have some cold light drink to keep enlightening your palate.
Overall, we had an enjoyable experience at Ruby Tuesday. To share laughters and the indulgences which remained in their motto.
