'Twas a patio kind of day!

TGIF! The sun was finally out after a full week of gloomy days, and you know what that means, Patio day! I’ve been longing to check out the infamous Ice-cream sandwich at EG, so I brought my friend to the recently opened location @ the Fashion Walk.Since I haven’t had lunch yet, I got myself something light to save my appetite for the Ice-cream sandwich.  The salad was comprised of onsen egg, black beans, olives, corns, onions, and toasted tortilla, all dressed in Lemon Garlic Dressing. There wasn’t much of a surprise in the salad, the dressing was quite bland and the portion wasn’t big (for this price..I was expecting a bowl fully packed with kale & quinoa..). Well that’s fine as long as long as I have the icecream sandwich to complete my meal.

With much of a disappointment, the staff told me there ain’t no sandwich today..!!!
There’s no way I could stop there and let it to ruin my Friday, so I added +$25 for a scoop of EG storemade icecream (lunch deal). There were quite a bit of interesting flavor to choose from, and at last I got their house flavor: Coffee Mocha Fudge.

 Hmm~ the ice cream did lived up to my expectation – the sweetness of chocolate ganache compromised well with the aromatic EG espresso house blend. The flavor was very strong and was a little bit too sweet (personal preference). Having topped with a few walnut pieces, the nutty oil and slight bitterness of the walnut cut through the overly powering chocolate
flavor, making the overall icecream very balanced and enjoyable.

I’d definitely come back to EG to try their coffee and icecream sandwich next time!
