So my colleague and I had to work OT tonight and we went to this place for dinner. We have always heard of this place but never had the chance to visit this place. So apparently the Che Jai noodles here are quite different from the (usually lousy) che jai noodles in Hong Kong. I can totally right from the beginning as we entered the restaurant. Unlike most unkempt che jai noodle place that is basically the majority in Hong Kong, this place was super clean and modern in decor. Even the menu was v
First we get to choose the broth for your noodles- there is coriander with thousand year egg soup (super famous I heard), spicy sou base and beef broth. I am a super coriander fans so I ordered the famous soup with sliced beef, beef belly and pork belly (was quite hungry for meat that day ahah) and my colleague ordered the beef stomach, and pork knuckle with the spicy soup. On top of the noodles, we also ordered a bowl of soup - Almond milk fish moat soup.
Let me talk about the noodles first, all the sides - especially the beef belly and the pork knuckle were exceedingly yummy. I like how each side is separated into a different dish to avoid an unnecessary blend of flavour and disrupt the soup of the noodles. All the protein where very tenderly stewed and the taste of the sauces have fully submerged into the thick layer of meat. SUPERB. I also like how artificial they tasted - I am sure they put none of minute amount of MSG into their food because I could just finish the soup without feeling thirsty at all.
So yeah, definitely going to come here again. I think with the rising trend of healthy eating, this place is definitely going to gain (even more) popularity in future.
