Ordered a flat white for takeaway. No photo as I didn’t intend to make a review.Per staff, beans are house blend with fruity note, medium roasted.Was asked for flat white size and ordered a large one to power through my lesson. Yet, the espresso to milk ratio seems off which leads to a underwhelming drink. Reminds me of Starbucks.. Maybe I am the one to blame as the one ordered a large size when flat white is supposed to be relatively smaller and strong. Wished they will proportionate the drink

Maybe I am the one to blame as the one ordered a large size when flat white is supposed to be relatively smaller and strong. Wished they will proportionate the drink with the coffee dose.
Staff was being trained by the senior and made my cup of coffee. While I appreciate the necessity of training, I doubt using the customer’s order is a right or respectful move. Latte art is good, but the frothing is not up to standard:
not reaching the optimal temperature leading a barely warm drink;
Flat white is supposed to be frothed with microfoam and velvety texture while with thin layer of foam. Mine is more like a latte with watery texture.
My suspicion is the staff tried to avoid creating too much foam by simply reduce the froth time, resulting a ”cold”, untextured drink. I personally feel the senior also doesn’t know the difference between latte and flat white (judging from the drink size and the fact that she didn’t remind the new joiner and served the drink to customer). One more thing concerned me was I can see the coffee puck used for my drink was not well tamped with unevenness .
If you have high standard in coffee, please avoid the shop or otherwise you will be disappointed and making review like mine. I hate when coffee shops only focus in latter art while neglecting all the basic that make a great tasting drinks.
