As a Saturday workday lunchtime treat I ordered myself the small salad box with a choice of three items, (the five choice box must be for sharing, I was stuffed after eating all of mine). The server was able to tell me which of the salads were vegetarian so I ordered those three. I actually know that I don't really like the thai noodles and yet I have repeatedly ordered them, I'm not sure if I don't like them or if the flavours are just a little jarring to my palate given that I'm not a thai-foo

I actually know that I don't really like the thai noodles and yet I have repeatedly ordered them, I'm not sure if I don't like them or if the flavours are just a little jarring to my palate given that I'm not a thai-food expert. Actually after this order I have come to the conclusion that I do kind of like them. Kind of. They have a string satay flavour and a heat kick after swallowing.
The next choice was the potato and mustard salad. I couldn't really taste much of the mustard but there was A LOT of the sauce, it had a kind of sour-cream flavour more than the mayo I'd been expecting but that was a pleasant surprise. I would have preferred it to have more onions or chives though to add a little variation.
The final salad was the Mediterranean. It's was a little disappointing, the cherry tomatoes tasted odd, (maybe overripe), the onions had a briny, salty flavour as if they'd been soaked in salt water to keep them fresh for longer. There were a few bits of onion, olive, parsley, basil and sun-dried tomato. The whole thing really needed more and better onions, the onions in this were thin and not crisp.
Overall, it filled a hole and as its near my office in sure I'll return although I'm just as likely to go to Pret.
