Unwelcoming and rude requests by the managerMy friend and I went to the restaurant at around 3pm on a Monday, it was completely empty. Upon arriving, we were told that kitchen was closed so no food could be served. So, we asked to have 2 coffees.After sitting for about an hour, chatting with our laptops out, we were approached by the manager who demanded us to leave as 'this is not the restaurant to just get two coffees and sit for hours in, there are plenty of other places to do this'. My friend and I went to the restaurant at around 3pm on a Monday, it was completely empty. Upon arriving, we were told that kitchen was closed so no food could be served. So, we asked to have 2 coffees.
After sitting for about an hour, chatting with our laptops out, we were approached by the manager who demanded us to leave as 'this is not the restaurant to just get two coffees and sit for hours in, there are plenty of other places to do this'. However, we were not told at any time any policies regarding no laptop/ no chatting/ no sitting for more than an hour/ minimum charge, etc. The restaurant was completely empty at the time as well (see the attached photo and the time stamp).
We are not sure what his problem is, especially since he got some friends at the table next to us who also just ordered one drink each and chatted for about an hour or so. But other staff was friendly and nice.
