After shopping in the day at New Town Plaza in Shatin, we decided to eat vegetarian and saw this on openrice. It was still pretty early so wedisnt have to wait before heading in. The environment was alright, not greatly furnished but it wasnt too bad looking. Still quite clean. After looking at the menu we ordered "vegetarian goose" as entree which was prettymuch fried bean curd. We also ordered a "lohan" vegetarian dish (羅漢齋)， they used a dried version of tofu rather than fresh rofu, however it also tased alright.
We ordered a dish from the "有营"menu, it had 莲藕 and some melons and is claimed to be low in saturated fat, oil, sugar and salt. It didnt have a strong taste but it sure didnt seem oily. Overall the dish was alright and seemed healthier than the usual dishes which are full of msg.
We ordered a vegetarian fish which was taro mash wrapped with dried bean curd and fried. It comes with a sweet and sour sauce in which we got them to serve separately. The pieces were rather big and very filling as we only shared this between 4 people. Some exclaimed the bean curd to be hars to bite. However the sauce was pretty good.
We also ordered a pineapple curry fried rice. It had a little spicy taste but it was pretty nice. It had small pineapple pieces and was served in half hollow pineapple. However the pineapple shell was not too hollow amd hemce there was not much rice and when we tried to scoop the rice with a spoon some bits fall off the shell.
Overall we had a pretty nice dinner although I found the tea water had a little weird taste. The food came pretty quickly and the staff assisted in introducing dishes to us and asking us for opinions afterwards. There was 10% off for many cards when paying.
