焰拉麵 locates at Yuen Long has been opened for a few years already and I have been their regular eater (every once a few weeks). To me, a good Japanese ramen is all about the soup, and 焰 has delivered good quality ever since.Restaurant can sits around 30 customers. You will never consider comfort is part of the judging criteria for any ramen restaurant as they are all about the same. Restaurant can sits around 30 customers. You will never consider comfort is part of the judging criteria for any ramen restaurant as they are all about the same. You can fill in the menu selection by yourself as typically you can have 5 different flavours along with amount oil, green onion, noodles firmness per your liking. Today, I picked their season selection of curry chicken x pork flavour 沾麵. Again, as I already mentioned earlier. It is all matter about the soup (湯底). It is quite good with strong flavour, and at the same time not so oily and salty. It comes with 3 pieces of grilled chicken (very tendered) and bamboo shoot and black fungus 木耳. Noodles are served hot and with good portion. I am quite satisfied with overall quality and taste.
There are literally hundreds of Japanese ramen restaurants in HK. There are even Michelin recommendated. However, this small ramen restaurants locates in Yuen Long earns my high recommendation due to its high quality consistency throughout the years. HKD 78 to 90 dollars per bowl of ramen cannot really qualify as bargain but it is the quality that matter.
