Boyfriend one day said .... Let's dim sum! I'm craving dim sum. I'm always up for yumcha! So, we looked around Tsim Sha Tsui and came across a new Chinese restaurant. 凱薈 (English name: Eternity) is located at The One. We arrived at 2 PM, the start of afternoon tea session where everything is 30% off. If you come at lunch, it's 20% off on weekdays. Menu is in Chinese only. There is no English. Ordering is one by scanning a QR code which is also in Chinese only. It says you can change to English but it's in still in Chinese. But at least there is photos of all the food.
Braised Chicken Feet ($33). Something we always order. A touch spicy but still not too much I couldn't handle. The sauce was very savory and sticky. The skin was soft and fell off the bone easily.
We decided on Siu Mai ($46). These were good. The pork was well seasoned and there was tiny bit of shrimp mixed in. Topped with roe, this was a very typical traditional tasting dim sum.
Lo Mai Gai ($39) was tightly wrapped.
The rice was sticky and there was lots of mince meat inside. I also found an salt egg yolk.
Salty Egg Yolk Calamari ($58) was something different than the usual. And these were really good. I think one of the best items we ordered. The salty egg yolk wasn't too over powering and covered the calamari nicely. The calmari iteself was soft and not over cooked. It looked oily but it oddly didn't taste oily. It came with a vinegar dipping sauce.
Steamed Rice Rolls with Crispy Spring Roll ($39) was another item I thought was one of the best things we ordered. The spring rolls were actually shredded so it was more like noodles. Super crispy and not oily at all. the rice rolls were not too thick. It was filled with a delicious filling of prawn and sweet daikon.
Char Siu Bao ($39) is the thing I must order. These were fine. The buns were fluffy and the char siu was very sweet and plentiful.
Steamed Beef Short Ribs ($46) was an item we had never seen in other restaurants. It was interesting. Very savory. It seemed they used Korean BBQ sauce and steamed it?? Unsure. But it was interesting. The beef was soft and tender as well.
The dim sum here was quite good. More on the traditional side which we like. They don't offer those cute social media worthy ones that is so popular now a days. But it tasted very good and we'd be back.
