Last time we came over for brunch. Spaghetti in truffle sauce was impressive. So, we returned for the Main tonight.Deco was cozy and merry on a Wednesday evening. We came early so we were able to enjoy the food program video quietly. Later the night, there was a big group on the long table. It was also enjoyable to hear laugh and chat from people celebrating. We focus on the black board this time for ordering. It was always nice to know Hot Picks. We have such a good appetite. We ordered 2 appet

Deco was cozy and merry on a Wednesday evening. We came early so we were able to enjoy the food program video quietly. Later the night, there was a big group on the long table. It was also enjoyable to hear laugh and chat from people celebrating.
We focus on the black board this time for ordering. It was always nice to know Hot Picks. We have such a good appetite. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 mains. However, dessert and cold drink have to be skipped due to recovery from recent flu.
Having said so, my other half ordered a draft beer due to irresistible temptation. We heard introduction from waiter to guests at next table. There were 4 types of craft on draft being promoted on black board. There were choices from less to more fruity favor. The waiter offer tasting so very tempting.

Size of shrimp was big and they were seasoned by garlic and basil. They were slightly fried before they were served on toast but could do better.
Tomato sauce was abundant and yummy. There was well balance of sweet and sour taste. Garlic toast was crispy. There was nothing wrong but not one of the best we ever had. It would be better if the shrimps were fried to golden brown color so favor of herb would come out more. Taste: 3/5

In fact, quantity of butter was not too much. It did not over-shadow freshness of clams in my opinion. This dish came with 2 piece of toast to maximize enjoyment of the left over sauce.

Free range chicken was juicy and tender as expected, however, too salty on skin. I think salt was not evenly distributed on the chicken.
Quality of meat made a difference and cooking technique counted. I think Granville Island has done a good job. The roasted chicken has a crispy skin and juicy and tender meat. It was also well season, except that some portion on skin was too salty. Taste: 3.5/5

Overall score is 3.3/5. We were served with good piece of meats and beer. Cooking technique has room for improvement. Pleasant service and bistro style environment. Grilled meat match perfectly with beer. That is the way to do business.
