Trying this restaurant once again in a week was pretty unexpected and I wasn't even planning to write another review on this dining experience, but after my revisit, I would like to make a compliment more than just about food. Ox tongue don was well presented, exactly like the picture showed on menu. Ox tongue was grilled flavourfully. The cracking black peppers gave a crunch plus the peppery flavour which became a booster of the meatiness. Ox tongue was tender and juicy. Jasmine rice underneath was lightly drizzled with the teriyaki sauce. Appreciate they gave just the right amount of sauce covering the top of the rice. So that rice remained dry with its own sweetness. The topped Japanese negi gave a hint of herby earthiness to the beefy taste. Good job.
Miyazaki udon seems a simple noodle dish especially the broth was very flavourful. Apart from the miso flavour and spiciness, chef smartly chopped the cabbages, mixing with minced meat and egg, extra sweetness and savouriness added. Udon was chewy as it should be, a good quality one. Loaded cabbages and minced were enough for your every bite. Love they were in small pieces for easy consumption. It was a decent dish.
Fried mackerel was a drooling small bite. Serving size is bigger than I thought. Mackerel was deep fried to golden yellow. Batter was thin and lightly seasoned. By drizzling lemon juice, acidity lessoned the heatiness from the fry food. Mackerel was cooked to perfection. Moist and crispy. Absolutely delicious , perfect happy hour food.
Here came to the experience I would like to share. Even restaurant was pretty empty, staff still happy to serve and some were even working on preparation, ingredients ordering and stock checking while in the middle of their lunch break. Some kept on checking our table ensuring our tea was refilled and helped cleaning our table so that we could sit longer and more comfortable. Staff also asked if our food was good and suitable to our taste bud. Could tell the whole team was organised and knew their role well. Good job staff!
