Today my friend and I visited this restaurant for lunch. We were attracted by their lunch set memu. For $35 you get a meal with a drink. Another reason was to support a new restaurant and give them a chance to survive. My friend had the lemon grass pork chop in rice noodle in soup and I had the same but with dried rice noodle. My friend asked for 3-colour jelly drink but turned out to be just one colour and it tasted really funny - nothing like the 3-colour jelly drink we had before in ot
My friend had the lemon grass pork chop in rice noodle in soup and I had the same but with dried rice noodle. My friend asked for 3-colour jelly drink but turned out to be just one colour and it tasted really funny - nothing like the 3-colour jelly drink we had before in other Vietnamese restuarants. I ordered a red bean drink but the red beans seemed uncooked. The pork chops did not have any lemon grass taste and they were not fresh. You just cannot say it is a Vietnamese restaurant because even a "CHA CHAN TENG" cooks better lemon grass pork chop than this restaurant.
We also ordered spring rolls - again we were disappointed. The size is very small and they only gave 3 pieces of lettuce without mint or other herbs. The spring rolls were oily too.
Our conclusion is that if you are looking for "real" Vietnamese food - do not go in unless you just want to fill your tummy. My friend and I will definitely NOT go there again.
IF WE HAD SEEN THE FOOD CRITIQUES FOR THIS RESTAURANT HERE BEFORE WE WENT OUT WE MIGHT HAVE GONE TO KEUNG KEE NEXT DOOR. To sum up, with the amount of money we spent and the quality of food we got, it is definitely NOT VALUE FOR MONEY VIETNAMESE FOOD.
