This is the worst service from a waiter of a restaurant of this price! Even a local 茶餐廳 has better service than this!We went there on a busy Friday night! There was a wait and we just drank casually on a side table before we got seated at a table. When we were seated, we were “advised” to order everything in one shot and they will space them out for us! It was a meet-up with a long-time friend so we needed to chat a bit. We went there on a busy Friday night! There was a wait and we just drank casually on a side table before we got seated at a table. When we were seated, we were “advised” to order everything in one shot and they will space them out for us! It was a meet-up with a long-time friend so we needed to chat a bit. We ordered some food, then ordered some sake, and ordered more food and more sake again. Then the waiter got really impatient and seems to be on a big hurry. Once we picked up a skewer from a dish, he immediately picked up the dish before we even put the food in our mouth. Then he asked if we wanted to order more food, we said no and he immediately picked up our tissue and cleared and cleaned our table before we even had a chance to use the tissue. Then within a few seconds he returned with the bill and said there is no service charge and gratuity is appreciated.
We suspect that his income depends mainly on tips and the more he can turn tables around, the more guests he can serve and potentially more tips he can earn. We think that he saw us as local hk-ese and spoke Cantonese and didn’t expect us to tip much as compared to other foreigners, and so he wanted to get us out ASAP. It was only about 1.5 hours since we sat down and it was not really that long for a such a restaurant or this price and class. The table next to us has been there for a longer time than us!
The food is great and the sake is nice. But until with this customer service, I don’t think I’ll be a returning customer.
I cannot give a honest evaluation of the taste of the food because we felt pressured to finish the food as soon as possible to give the table to the next customer and did not have time to really enjoy it.
