It was my first time dining here and everything was good.At Skye they serve French food where the restaurant has great views of the harbour.The decor was modern and young, if you observe the ceiling you can see a spoon.There was a choice of a degustation menu, white truffle menu and an appetizer menu.While we were deciding, we were given some bread paired with truffle butter and Harissa butter.We went for the white truffle set and the four course degustation set.Both menus were irritatingly deli
At Skye they serve French food where the restaurant has great views of the harbour.
The decor was modern and young, if you observe the ceiling you can see a spoon. There was a choice of a degustation menu, white truffle menu and an appetizer menu. While we were deciding, we were given some bread paired with truffle butter and Harissa butter. We went for the white truffle set and the four course degustation set.
Both menus were irritatingly delicious so I ended up eating my dishes and stealing from my friends.
It was good that all the courses were delicious because you feel wonderful after dining there.
++++++++++
White truffle menu:
The amuse bouche was black truffle toast and Jerusalem artichoke soup.
The toast was divine because there was thick cream cheese in it as well as fragrant truffle. Next was grilled asparagus, duck egg, hazelnut Hollandaise sauce and White Alba truffle.
Everything was flawless especially the pairing of the egg and white truffle. Ravioli of Boston Lobster (Parsley veloute and White Alba truffle.)
The ravioli was filled with meaty lobster and a strong cheese which went with it nicely. Roast filet of black Angus beef with a side of truffle mash and spinach topped with braised ox tail and black truffle ragout.
The beef totally stole the show, it was juicy, soft and tender! The white truffle dinner ended with a carmelized white chocolate parfait millefeuille which I exchanged with my friend's cheese platter. Here was my friends degustation menu which I couldn't resist helping myself too as well.
+++++++++++++++
It began with a cauliflower foam amuse bouche which I had because it was so light and yummy with a prominent cauliflower taste and it was a bit like baby food so I loved it. Next was the Heirloom tomato tartare, a nice vegetarian starter of tomato sorbet, tomato cloud and tomato tartare at the bottom.
The tomato cloud was the best part, the texture is just like meringue but with a super concentrated tomato taste! Then it was slow poached lobster with fennel tempura.
The lobster was perfectly done and springy. Veal sweetbreads, artichokes, madeira and truffles:
This is not often served in restaurants so ordered it and it was nicely done, the Madeira balanced the richness of the sweetbreads and it had a nice velvety texture. Stockyard silver Wagyu (tenderloin, grade 6-7):
Again, the beef was flawless like the angus and it had earthy kale beneath it and root vegetables. Les Frere Marchand cheese with Quince, chutney and CARRS crackers.
(Roblochon, mimolette and epoisses).
I love cheese so I had this to myself and it came with CARRS crackers which really makes a difference.
The Roblochon and epoisses were creamy and divine and the mimolette was also flavourful but it had a hard texture. Dinner ended with petit fours.
The nougat was nicely studded with nuts. I can't wait to dine here again and hope they keep it up.
