I haven’t been out much during this COVID-19 period, but tonight’s meal at MOKUTAN was definitely a good enough reason to leave the house!The restaurant was elegantly designed in a simplistic way. We were seated by the sushi bar, where we got to watch the chefs prepare our food.My 2 favorite dishes were the grilled ox tongue and the yakitori.The ox tongue was thicker than I expected, so the texture felt really great when I bit into the meat. The restaurant was elegantly designed in a simplistic way. We were seated by the sushi bar, where we got to watch the chefs prepare our food.

My 2 favorite dishes were the grilled ox tongue and the yakitori.

The ox tongue was thicker than I expected, so the texture felt really great when I bit into the meat. It was nicely flavored that I didn’t need to add any salt at all!

The yakitori was very delicious too. And it was fun to dip it into the raw egg 😍😍

Following the skewers, we also tried the abalone and the grilled rice cakes.

The abalone was super tender and had a good sour flavor, which was quite refreshing after the skewers!
