Me and my boyfriend were looking for a quick go-to for dinner on a Tuesday night and came across this new cha chaan teng in the midst of causeway bay. We decided to go for the meal set and added $10 for the daily soup; the chinese soup or the western soup. For me, the chinese soup tasted much better than the western as the western soup was quite salty for my liking.
The flavour of the pumpkin was not as strong as i expected and the texture was also a bit dry. However, it was deep fried just right with the perfect level of crispy-ness and amount of bread crumbs wrapped around it.
House Special BBQ Rice ($68)Next up, we ordered the four roasted meat rice which included the salted egg, char siu, roast duck and red sausages.My favourite was the roast duck, the meat was tender but would have preferred if there were less bones and more meat. The char siu was not tender and a bit on the dry side, but i think it was because we went at such a late time (9:00 pm) that all the good char sius were eaten already.
Pickled Pork Noodle ($58) We also had the fried noodle for our second set meal which was in general saltier than expected but the flavour was quite nice.
Lastly, they gave us some free walnut soup dessert! The dessert was pretty nice considering it was free ^^ It was quite thick in texture and the flavour of walnut was apparent.
