Duke's Burger is not your typical neighbourhood burger joint. It serves burgers made with innovative ingredients like Wagyu oxtail, lamb shank, truffle, foie gras. The restaurant didn't take reservations so we decided to head there fairly early in the evening. The ambience of the restaurant was elegant and classy. The restaurant didn't take reservations so we decided to head there fairly early in the evening. The ambience of the restaurant was elegant and classy. Drinks menu consists of wine, a great selection Belgian beer and other typical alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. I thought the wine list could be expanded. I ordered a glass of Argentinian Viognier and the server only filled the glass up to 1/4 full (hm). The two of us ordered a wagyu oxtail burger and lamb shank burger and also thick cut fries. Portions weren't that big (not sure if it would be enough for a guy) but it certainly looks enticing. The oxtail was very juicy. The lamb tasted a bit like kebabs. The bun was crisply grilled with melted butter spread evenly. The flavours of all ingredients blended well with the sauce but we thought they could add a bit more sauce since it dried up on the plate. The fries was good, crispy and piping hot, too but we have had better elsewhere. We also added a sweet potato fries when our food arrived but it took forever to arrive! Anyways we still finished the sweet potato fries but we thought the regular fries tasted better. As for service, although the place was small there were three servers in total so they were pretty attentive and efficient. However, they included an extra item on our bill (the foie gras burger!) and luckily we were able to spot the error!
Although this is not a place I would visit regularly, I would definitely return and try their foie gras and short ribs burger!
