Lunch with the boss today. Boss highly recommended the pigeon’s nest fried with egg white and crab meat. So crispy and yummy. And the sauce...😋😋😋 Boss said shd order some dim sum so I picked the 蝦腸 and spring rolls. Spring rolls were light and crispy, didn’t feel oily at all. However the 蝦腸 looked and tasted equally disappointing- they put the 九黃 inside, and the 腸粉 was sticky and doughy. The prawns just felt too loud and heavy. Surprise of the day: boss preordered the sharksfin stuffed in pigeon. I know we shdnt really eat sharks fin.... but this was one of the most well-matched dishes I’ve tried, notwithstanding I’m not normally a fan of small bones I had to spit out. It came with a big bowl of abalone sauce- I only used a little bit, and requested to take away the remaining sauce. (Which was my dinner that night- mixed with white noodles yum yum). Boss explained that both the pigeon and the pigeon nest were old school dishes, and nobody does them better than 7th son and FLM. The manager added that they have a similar dish with sharks fin stuffed inside a chicken, but boss said it’s too much for 2 ppl. Also worth mentioning the excellent service. I remembered dropping some oil in my tea so put it aside. When I eventually saw our server, I requested to change my teacup. She explained she already had cos she noticed some oil inside while she was trying to refill my cup. She actually did all this quietly whilst I was busy enjoying my pigeon’s nest.... big tip for her! 👍🏼👍🏼
