The egg tarts at Lord Stowe's are legendary. To test the legend, we made the trip. It is a very unassuming place, but from these humble lodings, the famous egg tarts came into the world. Upon entering, we were greeted by the aroma of the tarts. On a tray on the counter were a fresh batch, steaming pleasantly. We bought two and went outside immediately. Barely able to restrain ourselves, we bit into the egg custard. Flakey pastry gave way to the creamy filling and we had a few brief moment

Basically, the egg tarts were great. Really great. Better than Margarets? No. But definitely on par. Really, if someone put one of each in front of me, I would demolish both and ask questions later. Is Lord Stowe's worth the trip to Coloane? Absolutely.
