The poor service impressed me. This is the second time I visit here. The receptionist is rude. No sense. I won't come to visit anymore even the food is not bad at all. I will rate 0 star for chachawan . So disappointed. You can visit and have a try but you don't mind the 0 star service.

Pak poong fai mai dang ($78),泰式炒通菜炒得很香夠鍋氣,好吃。與串燒一樣,這炒菜也是零辣度的,不太吃辣的朋友可以多吃點。其實這裡不少辣的菜式都可以要求調低辣度,有需要的話不妨在落單時向店員提出。

It's my 5 or 6 times here and they never disappoint.. until now. Food is still somehow consistent- spicy, well seasoned. However I'm not sure if I will go back if their service keeps getting worse. If you've been there you know worst seats are on ground floor, next to the washrooms. And yes we got a table right next to there and the bar. The service was okay except the server rolled her eyes on my friend simply because we asked for less spicy. And also she missed my glass of wine, didn't even know until 15 mins later I asked the manager, and guess what my wine was not even punched in! Anyway 50 mins in and we were eating and talking, then the server came again and asked if she can clear our plates and NO you can't because we are still waiting one more dish! I don't get they need want us to leave so badly considering some of the tables was empty!

This is a bad way to do business: First the restaurant promised us to wait for 20mins. Then after ten mins they, with the effort to not lose the business of table of 6, they tell us a table is about to be ready. Pls wait for another 10mins... Order some drinks at the bar (yes, give them more business via drinks before the meal). Upon after waiting for another 10mins, they tell us the table changed their mind and are not paying anymore. This is really bad attitude of running a restaurant. If you can't control your flow of patrons, don't over-promise! First time here at the suggestion of friends, but definitely last time here!! Many other restaurants to choose from!

The lunch didnt start off well, we arrived at 2:20pm and were told we needed to order in 2-3minutes as the kitchen closes at 2:30. We hurriedly ordered 2 set lunches.

3 items were also sold out, so we decided on the chicken skewer, fried morning glory, papaya salad and crab fried rice (which I then decided to cancel), and coconut dumplings for dessert.

Of course the crab fried rice came, I didnt bother to complain that I actually cancelled this. The set lunch comes with jasmine rice (which I had to remind the server to get for me), the morning glory had an incredible amount of salt in it so much so we couldnt eat it. The papaya salad was a minuscule portion, the chicken was dry and had a soggy skin. 
The dessert was ok but I was so angry that also the set lunch dessert comes with coconut sticky rice, which didnt come.

They dont seem to care about the customer, the food is distinctly average, too salty and portions too small even for lunch.

I will not be returning, as for $450 for 2 for lunch you can get so much better anywhere else in Sheung wan/ Central.
Other Info. : I needed to drink a ton of water after the meal as the morning glory had a bucket of msg in it.

I had a quick lunch break at ChachaWan and I really enjoyed it.The price for the lunch is good and so is the selection.Both of my dishes were really tasty.It felt like authentic Thai cuisine, with the right amount of spiciness.Presentation is rather simple but that has to be expected if you recreate the Thai cuisine in HK.ChaChaWan is a layback, cosy and simple restaurant who offers great Thai food!Service was fast and the waitress was attentive and polite!Overall it was a great experience!

I had a quick lunch break at ChachaWan and I really enjoyed it.

The price for the lunch is good and so is the selection.

Both of my dishes were really tasty.

It felt like authentic Thai cuisine, with the right amount of spiciness.

Presentation is rather simple but that has to be expected if you recreate the Thai cuisine in HK.

ChaChaWan is a layback, cosy and simple restaurant who offers great Thai food!

Service was fast and the waitress was attentive and polite!

Overall it was a great experience!

The mains were incredibly savoury. Gai Yung (I hope I get the name right) are chicken thighs marinated for many hours with garlic and pepper. The juicy meat, served attaching to a bamboo stick, was very fulfilling. The pork collar was perfected grilled as well and the fragrance of coriander and shallot definitely made everyone mouth-watered. Their secretly homemade sauce (jhim jeaw),which i have no idea what it is made of, was incredible as well.

Love that fried rice with eggs, onions and CRAB MEAT, except the side sauce could be less salty.

Ended the dinner with their free dessert: green mango with red and green chili sugar. They were so surprisingly matched and I could not afford the mango with glutinous rice, which I originally wanted to order, anymore.

平時泰國菜吃不少,主要常吃到的都是冬陰功湯炸魚或者咖哩,前幾天和好友去了在上環的Chachawan吃依善泰菜,感覺有點不一樣!這家泰國餐廳坐落於荷里活道上,不是很大但是很多外國人來吃,裝潢也走的是舒適時尚的風格,就是那種直接可以穿舒服衣服下樓吃個飯的舒適感哈哈。依善(Isaan)這地方在泰國的東北部,比鄰老窩和柬埔寨,菜時味道比其他泰國地區要辣,反差比較大。這邊的菜都是即叫即煮,但上菜速度也蠻快的。我們點了幾樣菜share,第一個是Khao Pad($148). 當我以為這只是個普通的炒飯用來填填肚子,我錯了哈哈哈!這家的是用蟹肉和雞蛋洋蔥炒出來的,食材很普通,但是是我吃過最好吃的炒飯!很有鍋氣,不油膩,飯粒粒粒分明,味道剛剛好不會咸不辣。旁邊還配有一小碗秘制醬汁,是很稀的那種汁,味道有點酸酸的,放點在飯裡面一起吃味道很特別!下一道菜是Goong Golae($198). 這是烤虎蝦,有兩大隻,份量不多。大蝦非常新鮮爽口,上面放了一點點乾紅咖哩連皮一起烤,,蝦肉鮮甜,好好吃!依善這地區擅長烤肉,我們點了Khor Moo Yung($158), 就是烤豬頸肉。我平常很少吃豬頸肉因為母親大

下一道菜是Goong Golae($198). 這是烤虎蝦,有兩大隻,份量不多。大蝦非常新鮮爽口,上面放了一點點乾紅咖哩連皮一起烤,,蝦肉鮮甜,好好吃!

依善這地區擅長烤肉,我們點了Khor Moo Yung($158), 就是烤豬頸肉。我平常很少吃豬頸肉因為母親大人常說打針都在豬頸上打,所以不要吃太多。很久沒吃,這家餐廳做得讓我覺得破戒一次還是值得的(笑)。這一碟有很多塊豬頸肉,堆得像坐山那麼高。肉質非常爽口,不肥不瘦,配上醬汁超好吃!

最後這個甜品我非常不建議點,就是mango sticky rice($75). 芒果還蠻清甜的,但上面那個椰奶醬實在太甜了,甜得我雞皮疙瘩都起來,連我這個愛吃甜食的人都受不了!而且糯米飯煮得不夠熟,還吃到有硬硬的米粒,這道甜品是這家餐廳的一個敗筆呀。

如果大家吃厭倦了普通泰菜,可以試試這家依善風味的東北泰菜,突出的酸甜辣會帶給大家味覺上的衝擊喔!♥

復活假開始了, 下班後和朋友到chachawan食美食, 喝一杯, 聊聊天. 這間店即使沒有訂座, 但仍然很受歡迎, 座無虛席. 和友人約6點45分到達, 幸好人未算多, 可以即時安排入座. 這裡裝修/設計很特別, 不論牆面設計, 枱櫈, 餐牌或是器皿都有香港五/六十年代的感覺, 但其實是食泰國菜. 哈哈! 牆上的畫作也很漂亮, 更有幾條紅線構成圖案, 非常特別.  Waitress推薦了兩款飲品給我們, 所以友人點了Mango Chia, 我則點了Coconut and Kaffir Lime Leaf Martini.Coconut and Kaffir Lime Leaf Martini入口是咸咸的味道, 像炒菜/香芧的味道, 感覺怪怪的 , 然後會嚐到青檸葉的味道, 但就幾乎沒有椰子味道 , 有點失望呢. 不過再多喝幾口的話, 習慣了這種咸咸的味道反而有種愈喝愈想喝的感覺, 配著酸辣的沙律, 挺不錯的. 試了口友人的Mando Chia, 淡淡的芒果味, 清甜甘香. 這個好像更好喝. 因為晚點約了其他人食飯, 所以只叫了沙律和筷子雞過過口癮.柚子木瓜沙律酸酸甜

Coconut and Kaffir Lime Leaf Martini入口是咸咸的味道, 像炒菜/香芧的味道, 感覺怪怪的
, 然後會嚐到青檸葉的味道, 但就幾乎沒有椰子味道
, 有點失望呢. 不過再多喝幾口的話, 習慣了這種咸咸的味道反而有種愈喝愈想喝的感覺, 配著酸辣的沙律, 挺不錯的.

試了口友人的Mando Chia, 淡淡的芒果味, 清甜甘香. 這個好像更好喝.

因為晚點約了其他人食飯, 所以只叫了沙律和筷子雞過過口癮.

柚子木瓜沙律酸酸甜甜, 挺開胃, 不過不失, 也不太特別. 反而筷子雞則有驚喜
. 筷子雞是用類似筷子的木夾夾著無骨雞脾肉烤. 烤過的雞皮有金黃色澤, 微焦中滲著陣陣香氣
, 令人食指大動. 雖然是雪藏雞肉, 但雞肉卻嫩滑多汁, 而且夠彈牙
. 配著秘製醬汁食, 消油解膩, 又是另一番滋味.


店員最後會送上青木瓜甜品, 伴青檸味和辣味的糖. 先試青檸味, 味道清新, 帶點淡淡的甜味! 辣味真的頗辣, 而且辣味是那種慢慢滲出來的感覺, 挺得意.
即使怕辣的也可以沾點試試哦~ 不過我還是較喜歡清新的青檸味. 這個甜品加分不少哦~
