穿過時代廣場後一條街,這條街人流不算很多,但卻吸引不少餐廳在這邊的大廈中開業。而這家法國私房菜餐廳,位於這條街的百樂中心中。餐廳內簡單的西式裝潢配以微暗的燈光,羅曼蒂克。大廳中大約可容納30位人客,另外還有房間。因為沒進房間,所以不知道裡面的情況。朋友介紹的關係,餐廳在餐前送了一碟三款巴馬火腿和肉腸給我們(非常感謝)。雖然只是贈送的前菜,但材料絕不馬虎。各種火腿肉腸片陣陣鹹甘香,回味無窮。另外亦點了半打生蠔,很鮮甜味美。餐廳的生蠔分別有:Fine De Claire、Gillardeau Special 及 Coffin Bay,今次點了其中兩款,至於是那兩款?忘了...頭盤點了蟹肉牛油果沙律和煎鵝肝配焦糖蘋果。蟹肉牛油果的蟹肉味道不是很突出,而牛油果還有點點檸檬香味,令整個感覺很清新。煎鵝肝外脆內軟,油份非常份,入口即溶。若連同焦糖蘋果一起吃,蘋果的微甜令油膩感減少,令整體感覺非常平衡。本來不喜歡熟食生果的我,愛上了這道菜。湯味道很濃郁,而且仍可以細嚼得到小顆粒。配以濃湯的還有蒜蓉包,非常香脆。在主菜之前,一道自製雪葩,雪白的雪葩中有淡淡的荔枝味道,清甜的味道帶走之前頭盤與濃湯的味道

They only served set menus and dinner tonight was 5 courses at HK$450/person with coffee/tea. We ordered a few glasses of wine, some salami and parma ham so it was around $2000+ for 4. It was grandpa’s 88th birthday and we spent the night reliving his memories on wartime, surviving on random jobs and meeting my beautiful grandma (who had a celebrity asking her out on a date, lol).

I have been to Chez Moi a couple times and it is mostly satisfactory. I tend to order the steaks but my family likes the fish.

Crunchy garlic-herb bread basket to start with. The Lobster Bisque was skewed slightly to the sweet side but you could tell that the chef had used quite a bit of shells to elevate the flavors. Homemade sorbet to cleanse the palate was yuzu flavor with the actual peel.

The Baked Seafood Pot was a highlight. A buttery puff pastry encasing the steaming king prawn, codfish, scallop, clam and mussel. The smell of white wine couldn’t wait to rush out when we crack open the “box”. Do squeeze some lemon over the seafood.

I opted for the Charcoal Grilled Australian M7 Wagyu Rib Eye. It was crispy on the edges and well flavored. A side of the steak was closer to the dry-aged-crust so it had a strong beef flavor. Don’t underestimate the size of the steak. It was quite a bit after all the courses and the dessert at the end.

The only miss tonight was the Octopus Salad in the beginning. The octopus was stringy and they got stuck between my teeth on every bite. The tomatoes, however, are marinated with citrus juices and they could well be the focus instead. My grandpa’s chunky smoked salmon (in a Mars bar size steak) with creamy dew sauce looked good as always, and it was usually my choice on default.

2 servers and 2 chefs on a Tuesday. It was a quiet night but be sure to make your reservations in advance, regardless. No fancy interior. No fancy service (it’s what I call a typical Hongkie service – we are not a very passionate bunch; not too many smiles but it doesn’t mean we are impolite. Chefs are hotel-grade and dishes are reliable. It’s a small place but it’s sizable for intimate parties with friends or company meals (remember, no corkage so bring as many bottles as you please).

主菜本是四揀一,因煎鮮魚及温泉蛋海膽意粉已售罄,只剩炭烤雞扒配青胡椒汁及西冷配紅酒汁,但兩款也質優味佳,青胡椒汁微辛惹味,比黑胡椒特别;西冷肉味濃,切下去仍見粉紅,是最喜歡的熟度。
更精彩的是伴碟的薯仔片,原以為是蛋批,表面焗得金黄,吃下去卻是層層薯仔片及蛋奶汁,又香又有薯仔天然的甜味。

兒童最鍾意星期六返學前去揾嘢食之前睇到食評好似都唔錯又近學校所以嚟一試未到一點上到嚟,唔係太多人不過有兩三枱係group gathering所以有少少嘈叫咗個2-courses嘅lunch set先嚟嘅係香草蒜蓉包唔係太脆果種,屬於軟身,好香蒜味湯/沙律,揀咗沙律自製刁草三文魚沙律配蜜糖芥末汁沙律面嘅松子好得意個汁配蔬菜係唔錯,不過落咗啲三文魚度遮咗啲三文魚味主菜嚟喇!!炭燒美國安格斯西冷扒配紅酒汁切開嚟睇,兒童要五成熟,咁樣好似over-cook咗bor不過好彩食落都唔嚡,啲邊位嘅肥同根好香,又唔會太韌同埋隻碟好有heart有加熱過如果要揾一個可以坐低傾計嘅地方,呢度都可以一試

自從星期天,食上一次閉門羹後、心有不甘,今日特意到訪靜靜的耀華街上,跟Chez Moi 有著好大之分別,市午差不多全院滿座環境雖然不大、但裝修優雅,舒適、又不至過份華麗而給予壓迫感,不錯...餐包...絕少數在午餐會有驚喜,雖然珊珊來遲、但入口烘得香脆及鬆化,加上美味的香草和牛油、食出厨師的用心鴨胸沙律...很貼心地將鴨皮切去,咸香之鴨胸加上底層之沙律、混上美味醬汁、不稀不糊,入口清新又不過膩,正今個午餐大致有四款主菜、我選取了穩陣的意粉蟹肉,蟹籽意大利粉配忌廉汁...問心,蟹肉,同蟹籽味道都算幾匹配、只可惜加上蟹枊條絲、有點畫蛇添足之感,不倫不類、有心失色忌廉汁做得較為稀薄,幸而味道也掛得上每條意粉身上、不挑剔的話,絕對收貨很少飲上餐茶濃而不苦澀,芳香的咖啡、我想應是咖啡質數有關,一杯本想平庸之作、卻落得突然精彩,欣賞指數再升一級

兩位妹妹點的是炭燒美國安格斯西冷扒配紅酒汁,因為怕生,所以點了七成熟,入口滿有炭香,雖然偏熟,但肉質仍見鬆化不韌,筋位附近的肥脂更是軟滑甘香,肉味雖然不算濃郁,但以$118的套餐價錢來說,這個質素已相當不俗。配菜的薯蓉與焗蕃茄也甚有誠意,混有薯粒的薯蓉,不但薯味香濃,更帶有濃郁的牛油香,使味道更為誘人。焗蕃茄的表面撒滿香草,賣相看似乾身,但咬下去仍算多汁,蕃茄經過烤焗後味道更見濃郁,還滲出香草的芳香,叫人難以抗拒。

我點的是廚師每日新鮮魚柳,是日的鮮魚是沙猛,近日媽媽也經常從街市買沙猛來做餸,看來這陣子沙猛的確魚獲甚豐。厚身的魚肉只略為煎香,肉質結實,底下的蕃茄醬,微微的酸香正好把本身略淡的魚味襯托出來,兩位妹妹也說魚柳較牛扒更為出色。每日鮮魚供應有限,是日挺受歡迎,聽到侍應向鄰桌介紹餐牌時說經已沽清。

午餐不包甜品,額外加配需另加$30,是日甜品分別有芝士蛋糕及香橙法式燉蛋,就各點一客,侍應也細心的拿來三隻小碟讓我們分吃。芝士蛋糕的餅底不會一戳就散,而且仍帶微脆,忌廉芝士口感軟綿,可惜奶味偏重,差不多吃不出芝士味,鋪面的車厘子果醬使味道不致單調,整體不過不失。香橙法式燉蛋的橙味很造作,燉蛋不太軟滑,蛋香亦欠奉,這個不吃也罷。甜品可說是整頓午餐略為失色的一環。
