This restaurant is very new - as is demonstrated by the noisy construction still going on around in the plaza.
The staff were all very friendly, especially the French host, if a little disorganised.
The décor is lovely and , when all the noise and construction in the plaza is finished, I'm sure this will be a delightful spot for lunch.
The menu is heavy on the foie gras, which I always find utterly disappointing. When will people in Hong Kong realise the barbarity of this stuff?
I had the set lunch.
To start a cold green apple and cucumber soup served with some excellent French bread. The soup was delightful and perfect for lunch on a steamy Summer's day. A very unusual combination but one which I will look for again.
This was followed by some perfectly cooked sole fillets with a herb crust accompanied by a wonderfully peppery watercress sauce.
Full marks. Beautiful saffron rice and nice crunchy vegetables.
Good coffee as well.
Good value at $115 plus s.c.
The staff seem to be finding their feet slightly and were on occasion slightly disorganised and slow but I'm sure that this will improve rapidly over the coming weeks.
I would perhaps wait until the construction in the plaza has finished before returning for lunch but imagine that it would be a nice setting for dinner even at present.
All in all a very welcome addition to the Stanley dining scene.
