兩杯咖啡都ok,幾香而且夠熱!
反而 creme brûlée 做得不錯。很香很滑不太甜,而上面的焦糖層是即叫即燒的,不會過焦。

由於 Chez Patrick 有outdoor seating, 可一邊歎杯咖啡同朋友/男友share一個甜品,一邊睇住啲小朋友同狗仔喺赤柱廣場周圍走。

好多謝男友帶我過左個咁relaxing嘅Sunday,令我可以忘卻上個星期帶比我既pressure...

Came to Stanley with my girlfriend for a walk and decided to go for a random lunch. I remembered I've read some article on a news website relating to visiting Hong Kong (wine & dine). This resaturant was one of choice that the article mentioned so therefore decided to give it a try, (and this restaurant is also available in Wan Chai).

A) Firstly, the receiptionist gave us a very warm welcome and quickly seated us a table with a basket of baguettes and glasses of water. The baguettes was warm & moist on the inside and crust was crunchy which my girlfriend and I like the most (especially with alot of butter)


B) We ordered some kind of starter platter (can't remember the name) which consists of parma ham, gherkins, salami, goose liver paste, cherry tomatoes, a bit of rocket salad with vinegar and some sort of green coloured dressing -_-" My girlfriend and I doesn't have particular comments on this platter as it's a normal platter. The only thing that catches our eye is that shot of green dressing, which both of us couldn't figure it out after tasting it and couldn't be bothered to ask either;)

C) For the mains, we both ordered something from the daily menu which is written on the blackboard and I think they change it daily (not sure), a grilled spring chicken with daily veg' and a grilled salmon with stuffed tomato & boiled spuds. The salmon was absolutely brilliant. It isn't dry nor overcooked, still moist on the inside. We both like having salmon alot when dining outside so again we tend to order salmon almost where ever we go
It was seasoned well that you could actually taste the freshness inside the salmon. Also there's not too much blackpepper being seasoned on top as I'm slightly allergic to blackpepper. The stuffed tomato was tasty in terms of big fat juicy tomato that goes with stuffed in cous-cous (as far as I remembered). Overall, very good dish.

D) The spring chicken was......spring chicken. Its not overcooked or dry (but remember, many restaurants overcook this dish alot). A bit of boil veg' and roasted wedges on the side to go with the chicken together with a splash of gravy. The chicken was seasoned with rosemary herbs and some olives with the gravy. Chicken was tender and cooked properly and perfectly, boil veg wasn't too soft and still able to taste the freshness and crunchiness from them..good stuff.

E) We were quite full despite having a basket of baguettes, starter platter and two mains for lunch but decided to go for a dessert to share too as our stomach was crying for it
A pistachio cake with raspberry & vanilla sauce and a scoop of cream on top. WoW O_O" the cake was very delicious, and I do mean delicious in terms of taste, it's not sweet at all and it just blends in the mouth very easily together with the raspberry & vanilla sauce. Speechless, just try it out for yourself readers.

F) Finally from all that eating, munching and crunching, our mouth decided to tell us that it needs a bit of a splash of non-berverage, so we ordered a cranberry juice = nice from the fridge, cool on a sunny day


Conclusions, I would like to try this restaurants for dinner soon. I would recommend to friends / relatives and readers out there to give it a try. I'm sure it won't disappoint you all;)

I love Mondays. This says a lot about what I'm not. A few weeks ago I fell in love with Stanley but reckoned that I ought to find some justification for returning so soon, spending a leisurely day out, feasting on nice views, atmosphere and relatively more expensive food. Hence the 3.5-hr hike this morning (Parkview -> Stanley) before a late lunch at CP. The restaurant was pretty empty. The sun was shining. The grass is green. It is good. Lunch menu. Apart from order a la carte, you have a few lunch set options:
a. ANY entree: $95
b. Soup/salad of the day + entree + coffee/tea: $125
c. Starter (from the blackboard) + entree (from blackboard): $18x

All 4 of us opted for the $125 set lunch. And among the four entrees, 3 ordered soup...and the same 3 ordered steak, hahaa. So much for variety. Oh and all 4 of us ordered iced lemon tea ^^''

Slightly disappointed with the fact that the bread was not hot. It was 'room temp'. Not hot and fragrant and fluffy, but the flavour was quite nice. It had a pleasant, subtle sweetness, and was quite doughy. Unlike a regular baguette.

I had a small spoonful. It was very lightly, potato-based (non-creamy), seasoned but a bit bland (a bit more salt?), hot, and was a good dipper for the bread.
The texture: grainy, but the grains were fine - no big lumps. Not my favourite soup for sure, but at least it was better than my...salad.

Boring, predictable, almost insincere.
there is nothing I want to say about this disappointing salad. The vinagrette was too acidic, the leaves were boring, probably a mesclun mix straight out of a packet..I finished it only because I needed the greens. Hugely disappointing.

I ordered this. It was the vegetarian option of the day, and was surprisingly good. I was originally quite skeptical about the idea of risotto wrapped in a ROLL, but it turned out to be a lovely crepe, crisp round the edges, slightly savoury, and the risotto wasn't actually risotto - it was much drier than a sloppy risotto. Its consistency was akin to paella. Plump grains cooked al dente. The flavour of asparagus came through nice and strong. Loved the small crunch the stalks gave the 'risotto'. Well-seasoned. All in all, this was a rather delicious dish, but it should be renamed. Although it wasn't true to its description, it was nonetheless, a great attempt at 'fusion' French food.
Recommended!

Oh, you also get a small salad to go with the crepe. The salad was about as interesting as the starter.


Sirloin steak with five cheese sauce and side veg

The only thing I enjoyed about this dish is the 5-cheese sauce. Although the sauce was mildly pungent (because of the stilton?) I couldn't help digging in. It was moreish and added a lovely savoury profile to the bread and the side veg. The sides - french fries, carrots, peas etc - were extremely disappointing. Like they just came right out of the freezer which I believe is exactly what they are. Deep freeze skinny fries and peas/carrots.
The waiter failed to ask my friends how they wanted their steaks prepared. They all came medium well. Lots of fat.

Conclusion:
Would probably come again at some point because of the nice environment, and because there aren't that many choices around. But I could do with an entree only, and maybe add a cheese platter paired with some wine.
Next time I should check out the beachfront pubs too.
Can't wait to visit Stanley again!

the five cheese sauce was very interesting. it smelled cos of the cheese. but it was also tasty!
the beef was quite... raw. but with the sauce it tasted fine. the fries was perfunctory. the buttered veg on the side was ok.

frankly speaking, the food was not worth >$100. but the sauce was interesting, the environment was nice and i was in awesome company - doesn't matter what we do, but with whom we do.

平日來赤柱,比週末的人少很多,走到大街,環境也份外寧靜舒適。這天來到赤柱吃午飯,隨意的在廣場那邊挑選間餐廳Chez Patrick Deli來吃。想吃得輕便點,就選了芝士菠菜蛋批,侍應也先送上法包,塗點牛油來吃也好。芝士菠菜蛋批,濃郁的羊奶芝香,夾著大量的菠菜,味也不錯,但蛋味不算濃烈。批底微脆,但較為鬆散,亦比較油膩,吃一件也很飽肚。幸好有點沙律菜,酸酸的,減少油膩感。突然想起在星街的灣仔分店,這裡行人較少,環境雖然同樣較靜,但這裡地方較大,感覺也沒那麼狹迫。

本來不打算叫甜品,但經過凍櫃看到Creme Brulee很大份($60)及佈滿雲尼拿籽,便忍不住了!點了咖啡,餐廳細心的附上滾燙的熱奶,呷了一口咖啡,是略帶苦澀的一種。突然,空氣中瀰漫着棉花糖的甜香,便知甜品快隆重登場。一個橢圓形的白瓷砵,盛着焦糖鏡面的燉蛋,中央放着一枚用士多啤梨刁成的玫瑰。急不及待,立即用匙敲打焦糖面,隱約聽到裂開的聲音,一下挖到底,放入嘴裏就是脆,香,甜,滑,美妙非筆墨所能形容!

端午節的正日,一家三口齊往赤柱看龍舟。完事後當然要到市集走走,玩得累了的小友很快便在車上睡着。兩口子這時還不把握僅餘的少有私人空間,找個地方去撑撑檯腳去?....四處人頭湧湧,差不多每間餐廳都是full house。走到了由城中名廚Chef Patrick開的輕食小店,人流反而沒那樣誇張。拿了等候的票子,不到十分鐘便被安排就座....之前雖已吃了少許薄餅打底,但既然一場來到,這個品牌又是自己一直躍躍欲試的,當然也就毫不吝嗇地每人再來一份份量不輕的late lunch....先送來的是一小杯鮮榨的orange juice。入口清甜怡人而不咯喉,甚是令人討好...麵包籃上雖只是邊位偏帶硬的切片法包,但勝在焗得熱騰騰且包的中心是極其軟綿。配上軟滑豐腴的牛油,光只是吃這個來伴橙汁吃已是讓人滿足了...西蘭花豆寇湯最大的特點是冷喝的,在此炎炎夏日底下飲確是最適合不過。喝得出店方是下足料炮製的,呷落每一口都充滿西蘭花的草青味。不喜這份味道的人可能會盡量避之則吉,不遇對小弟來講卻是甘之如飴....太太的cold cut meat platter看上去極其吸引。食落每一款的如salami及三文的水準都

太太的cold cut meat platter看上去極其吸引。食落每一款的如salami及三文的水準都很高,前者充滿鹹香而帶少許在舌頭微溶化的觸感;後者則油份足但並不覺太膩口。但兩者合起來也全然及不上一小件的鴨肝醬 ---- 入口充滿鴨獨有的羶香之餘又油豐味濃,無論是淨吃抑或用來伴法包,都是超一流的味覺享受....

主菜雖只是簡簡單單的ribeye,但燒得火喉剛剛好,說是medium rare就是medium rare;入口滿是牛香,而且又不會下過多的調味如黑胡椒來蓋過應有的肉味。放在肉上面的一大片香草牛油就更是畫龍點睛的一着,將之伴肉吃是更能將應有的油香發揮到一個極致,實在出色;side dish則是烤得外脆內軟的薯角,吃完那塊扒後本應已很飽了,但面對如此香口的東西,兩口子還是食完一件又一件....

太太的主食相對起來做法就較特別 ---- 是以清蒸的sole fillet卷入了以鮮蝦打成的醬茸弄成。龍利進口很滑而不腥;蝦肉醬茸更是吃得一口鮮甜。醬內混進了不少新鮮的拆碎蝦肉是令味覺及味道不會那麼的單調;碟旁放的是用牛油略炒過的米飯,很有咬口之餘亦帶些微油香,就算再飽也能將之全消滅掉....

Last week I gave chez Patrick a try. Ordered some take away. The bread was excellent. The foie gras and cheese selection was so much that one had a hard time choosing. We end up choosing the figs and smoked foie gras. My wife bought some pieces of cakes and they taste great! The eclairs were tempting but we ended up with the praline which was the best I had so far and the creme brûlée cake was really unique but the chocolate tart was too dry for my liking.

夜收工但又想食法國菜,預先打電話問了last order 為10pm,最終945pm 到達,而我們兩人為唯一的顧客。朋友極喜愛芝士,待者細心介紹了各種不同的芝士,沒有因為要緊收工而草草了事。亦因為這次的經驗,令我都愛上了 Roquefort. Chez Patrick Deli 標榜為Bistro,簡化了的法國菜,令到價錢更為平易近人($400 3-course) ,而且質素仍然十分高,抵食。

先前吃了點東西,所以我們也不打算一人一個set lunch,打算share一份然後再點一些小吃。頭盤、主菜和甜品,2-course $180,3-course $240。鬆弛似乎不太愛吃raspberry cake,所以就要了2-course套餐,主菜要了rib eye。有不少人都有點cheese platter,看起來很不錯的樣子,所以我們也跟著要了一個snack combo,雙併了cheese和smoked salmon & salmon rillettes。

Deil Sampler starters + Tomato bell pepper soup。湯是西班牙式的凍湯,蕃茄和紅椒打成蓉的甜甜湯,我覺得還好,很開胃。Starters超級豐富,份量不少,除了沙律菜之外,上面還有salami、煙三文魚、Quiche和鵝肝醬。添加了橄欖油的baby spinach很甜很新鮮;鵝肝醬香濃幼滑,帶油脂甘香,內臟味不重,所以我也能吃一點;Quiche裡面有一點點火腿跟洋蔥,味道不錯,只是凍了所以有少許硬;salami富鹹香但又不會太鹹。

主菜的rib eye雖然不是medium rare,不過塊扒本身質素不錯,所以就算煮得熟了點,仍然相當juicy又夠肉味,另外放在上面的蒜蓉香草牛油又是一絕,香氣四溢。伴碟的炸薯條比較乾身和有點焦,所以沒吃,反而蘿蔔、白蘿蔔和西蘭花等都煮得夠軟腍。

併盤上面有三款不同的芝士,不太知道名字,其中一款是軟芝士,很濃郁的煙燻味;另外一款硬芝士,after taste有些果仁味道,很特別;最後的一款就沒什麼特別。這裡沒有蜜糖,只有一種類似蔓越梅的果醬,不過我覺得不夠甜,而且野莓的醬通常都會帶微微的酸,好像不太夾。

另一邊廂有煙三文魚,上面淋了一些忌廉,不過我覺得忌廉不夠rich,超級掛念Hyatt steakhouse的頭盤煙三文魚伴著的厚身sour cream,而鬆弛說那些煙三文魚太鹹。Salmon rillettes放在一個小杯子裡,rillettes其實是肉醬,不限於什麼肉,裡面有些奶油、香草和三文魚碎肉,我認為比較適合塗抹麵包,單吃的話有點單調。

最後送來一杯鮮榨橙汁,是一個完美的句號。

如果周末來的話,肯定不會有什麼好的招待,每個人都很忙,在你身邊轉來轉去,坐在餐廳裡面比較好,可惜座位不多。只是假日的氣氛實在不錯,很熱鬧,如果打算到赤柱遊覽一些四處逛逛的話,這裡都算是一個不錯的選擇。

來到赤柱, 當然會一次過掃多幾家店. 在公園走完一圈之後, 天色轉暗, 是時候找點吃的了. 赤柱廣場裝修之後有不少改動, 地下位置有幾家新店子, 揀了一輪, 還是一試Chez Patrick的分店. 上一次惠顧Chez Patrick的店子, 已經數到那次海龍王之約. 當然, 此分店是deli, 以輕食為主, 主打的食物是大有不同.室內環境簡潔舒適, 始終走了一天, 大家也累了, 能夠在優質的環境好好的休息一下, 實在不俗.先看看餅櫃這邊, 選擇也幾吸引. 其實之前不算吃了太多, 不過大家也不太肚餓, 就挑選三款分吃好了.來的時候剛好未夠六點, 店方也大方的讓我們能夠用下午茶的價格去點菜. 這裡的Afternoon Tea Set, 是咖啡或茶, 再加上一款douceur, 一客$90. 我們在餅櫃揀的三款餅正好能當作下午茶餐, 另外再叫三杯飲品. 媽媽就要了熱水, 還是成壺上, 有排飲呢.Iced Mocha: 5分, 大大杯, 相當抵飲. 但飲一口, 咖啡味是相當淡薄, 完全不夠香濃, 有點想不到. 還好是朱古力味還幾突出, 挽回了分數. 不過正價$45一杯的咖啡, 這個水準真是令

Cappuccino: 爸爸要了Cappuccino, 他更是大大力的批評, 認為在家的即充咖啡也比較香濃. 其實見店方的茶用上了巴黎名牌Mariage Freres, 似乎飲茶會是比飲咖啡為佳的選擇.

Mushroom and Ham Tart: 8分, 雖然是一早焗起的撻, 但上檯前先加熱, 出來的效果還是熱辣辣的. 撻幾鬆脆, 加上蘑菇及火腿, 是幾匹配的組合. 旁邊還有沙律, 火箭菜是幾新鮮的, 也減輕了蘑菇火腿撻的濃烈感.

Lemon Meringue: 8分, 面頭的脆餅是相當之脆卜卜, 檸檬味都幾濃, 不過怕酸的我還接受到. 餅底是幾鬆脆的, 看來這裡的批/撻都是有水準的. 旁邊加入了雲尼拿醬, 剛好起了中和的作用, 為這件餅帶回點點甜味.

White Chocolate and Poached Pear: 9分, 三款餅中最喜歡的就是這件餅, 層次分明, 白朱古力味道是幾濃烈的, 梨是幾清甜, 兩者加在一起, 又起了不俗的化學作用.
