Came in for a dinner service for 4 on a quiet thursday night
We made our booking in advance and was seated immediately upon arrival
The most striking thing upon arrival is the wait-and-see attitude of the serving staff. They literally just stared at me when I walked in, probably wondering whether I am lost or asking to use their toilets. Well..
I was seated and had to ask for water (wouldn't have asked if I didnt need to take my meds straightaway) . Then during the dinner we had to repeatedly go out and beg for the waiting staff to take our orders. Management, could you please assign some staff to take care of the needs of customers instead of letting them being comfortable chatting at the bar?
My friends had a huge lunch so we figured we would go light on the meal-
Between 4 we ordered 2 appetitsers, 2 salads, 1 main course and 1 pasta, and we were truely beliving that it would be just enough or slightly too much for us- but man were we surprised!
The portion was painfully TINY. The nice way to put it- they are of tapas portion. The taste is not bad, but definitely not overwhelming either. Simply put, for the taste they are delivering, I won't pay half as much for that portion they gave us.
We ordered 2 desserts towards the end, one chocolate lava cake and another apple crumble, both served with ice-cream. The chocolate lava cake has lava alright, but the alcohol they mixed into the batter was overpowering. The Apple crumble has a soggy tart base and the crumbles were soft and wet probably from prolonged contact with the apple puree underneath. And the ice cream they served with the dessert, probably home-made, is lacking in flavour and has edible chucks of ice in between the gooey texture of icecream, as my boyfriend put it, he doesnt know whether hes eating an ice cream or a sorbet.
The bill came down to about 400 HKD per person, we all felt that money could be better spent else where and we all went home slightly hungry.
