So sad to see that this once excellent British restaurant has let its standard slip so quickly. They’ve been gradually reducing the menu options for a few months and now they’ve removed the once incredible bread section completely. Nor have they replaced it with free bread so you have nothing to eat until the starters appear. They’ve also taken off the confit potatoes which were incredible and replaced them with pretty boring boiled new potatoes. The mains are still ok but the menu needs a refre

So sad to see that this once excellent British restaurant has let its standard slip so quickly. They’ve been gradually reducing the menu options for a few months and now they’ve removed the once incredible bread section completely. Nor have they replaced it with free bread so you have nothing to eat until the starters appear.

They’ve also taken off the confit potatoes which were incredible and replaced them with pretty boring boiled new potatoes. The mains are still ok but the menu needs a refresh.

Service has also gone downhill too. We were served by two staff who served us robotically and without any sense of pride on what they do. When the food came there was no explanation and they gave my wife and I the wrong dishes both times. Wine was served with no humour or chat.

This used to be our #1 place to go to but now it’s been deleted as a bookmark. I even write to them to have a moan and got a copy pasted “thanks for the feedback” reply which shows how little they now care. Damn shame.

英式經典甜點:黑芝麻布甸加雪糕

這個黑芝麻拖肥布甸相當好食, 黑芝麻醬香濃又不會太甜,蜜糖雪糕

將近八點,開始多人,呢度夜晚重有酒賣,提供特色雞尾酒;現場見到唔少OL, 三五成群到嚟飲酒食嘢傾計,越夜越多人,氣氛好熱鬧,我亦見識到夜中環嘅特色


整晚非常開心,餐廳俾我感覺,係典型歐美式酒吧,現場氣氛好 free 同relax。
招牌菜 Duck & Waffle 果然名不虛傳
整體嚟講,無論環境,食物同服務,都令人滿意。好多謝老友帶我嚟見識咁有特色嘅菜式!

朋友介紹呢間餐廳,話佢個招牌菜好味!我見鴨拼窩夫呢個組合咁得意, 就一於試下平日lunch time去到餐廳 雖然full house但d位好梳 又有sofa位 坐得好舒服每張檯都有隻紅色的鴨子starter叫左個salmon tartare味道都唔錯, 有埋d脆脆都幾好食主菜就梗係要食佢個duck & waffle啦真係幾正! 隻鴨脾應該炸過黎~好脆又唔會好乾隻蛋煎得好靚, waffle外脆內軟, 加埋d 楓糖勁好食!!當然係佢既signature dish~甜品就要左個black sesame toffee pudding其實我唔係好鍾意toffee, 不過更加唔鍾意另一款甜品我就覺得甜品好普通 只能說不是我杯茶不過最令人失望既, 應該係d侍應有2位serve過我地張檯, 一位外國人一位香港人2個都目無表情 講野冇尾音 更加唔會講thank you真係唔明點解香港有咁多侍應會用呢種態度返工

最抵食一定是週末 brunch ($318),包括 starter (共3款)、mains、dessert 及 soft drink。今日是星期五,只有普通 lunch set ($250),只可以選擇一個starter、mains 及dessert。快速閲灠餐牌,大部份都是典型英國菜式,似乎不需要什麼講究的烹調技巧、也沒有特別吸引力;但細看每道菜式的簡介後,就會發現原來顛覆了傳統英國菜,加入了不少意想不到的元素、及反傳統的食材組合。正正是這些元素,令到「Duck & Waffle」成為英國倫敦的 hip 餐廳之一。

Set Lunch 主菜有焗海鱸魚柳、USDA 穀飼牛肉眼、素食,當然不能缺少主打菜式Duck & Waffle,但最後揀了 Lamb and Fennel Meatball Bake(下文交代點解唔揀 Duck & Waffle)。賣相同普通蕃茄醬焗肉丸沒有分別,咀嚼下羊肉茴香肉丸很鬆化、肉汁豐溢,但羊肉香味未夠濃香,唔講以為只是普通豬肉牛肉丸,這份主菜似乎太過普通了。

Set Lunch 有兩款甜品選擇,揀了招牌甜品 Maple Glazed Granny Smith Apple Waffle。Waffle 同 Duck & Waffle 一樣,分別在於作為甜品,加上了釉面楓樹糖漿、焦糖顆粒,並配上焦糖蘋果及自家製玉桂味雪糕。Waffle 配楓樹糖漿及焦糖顆粒本來已是經典英式甜點,但焦糖蘋果更好味。甜度剛剛好,沒有掩蓋蘋果本身的清甜及果香;表面軟腍、中心仍保持少少爽口,加上獨特的玉桂味雪糕,提升了古板英式甜點的層次。

中秋節晚上,找不到中式酒家,於是乎訂了Duck & Waffle 這間餐廳。餐廳環境不錯,燈光柔和,枱與枱之間也有很好的社交距離。食物方面很不錯,尤其是粟米排骨驚喜。Foie Gras Creme Brulee 略嫌麵包較少,要再order多一個,Duck & Waffle 是招牌菜,肉眼扒也很出色,有肉汁和很濃的炭燒味道,side dish 叫了 baby leaf salad 。最後叫了兩個甜品,每一種食物也都很出色,這樣就過了一個美味的中秋佳節。

都唔想逐一評價,因為太普通,賣相的確好靚,但食物味道真係好一般。
對於最signature 嘅duck and waffle我真係唔識欣賞,無論係一齊食定分開黎食嘅味道都係分開,無特色可言。
