Came early on a weekday and the cafe was already bustling with people so we were lucky enough to grab a table. The pastry counter looked really yummy and we couldn't help but grab a pastry. The selection was really great, a mix of cookies, bread, muffins and cakes. We ended up going for the Pain Au Chocolat $25 😍Toast with Butter $25 As a huge fan of sourdough bread, I just wanted some toasted bread with butter. As a huge fan of sourdough bread, I just wanted some toasted bread with butter. I love the sourdough here, not sour, great chewy texture and a solid crust. I mean just look at how good that cross section looks! Would recommend if you wanted something simple to accompany a coffee that wasn't a sweet pastry. There's a couple other condiment options that you can choose from too: Vegemite, Peanut Butter, Honey and Marmite.

Yes, I am well aware that this meal consisted of a lot of bread, but I honestly didn't expect the slices of toast to be so big! We also ordered the Half and Half to share: one side features Avocado and the other Feta & Tomato. Nothing groundbreaking here, but the ingredients were fresh and accompanied the toast really well. I loved the touch of basil with the tomato feta side.

Overall, even if you don't feel like grabbing a bite, Fineprint is a great, affordable place to have coffee and spend time alone or with a friend. Seating is quite limited, but there are cosier options than their Central branch. I like that the Tai Hang location is nice and bright too (I find the Central shop a bit dark, but it's a mood). If there's anything to improve on as a cafe, they should make water more easily accessible. We had to ask staff for water quite often as the cups they gave us were quite small. But nevertheless, Fineprint still makes the cut as one of my top cafes in HK!
