我跟一群朋友都是印度菜超級FANS。以往去開附近一間 INDIA PALACE 八月底結業(業主無理加租)。失望之際,決定試試很多人喜歡的GAYLORD。大大失望,決定以後都不會回去。當日是星期日晚大約9點,餐廳仍然很多人。侍應A問我們幾個人,我們說4個,他冇回應便行開。ERRR 那究竟有冇位呀?等了4分鐘,侍應B問我們幾個人,答後又冇回應便行開。一分鐘後,女侍應C再一次問我幾個,激死!!!!最後終於由侍應D帶我們到餐檯。入面有8成是印度人。所以我們也不擔心食物質素。看MENU時突然有個男侍應行得好近,一粒聲都不說就伸手在我檯邊,為的就是反開我張檯,等我們的檯大D,原來一片好心。食物果然幾好,但服務態度就超差。整間餐廳沒有一人面帶笑容,除非你是印度人啦。成餐飯好像好不受歡迎,這些待遇通常都只會在旅行時去不歡迎遊客的高傲國家才領教到。我們又要另覓一間印度餐廳了!

食物果然幾好,但服務態度就超差。整間餐廳沒有一人面帶笑容,除非你是印度人啦。成餐飯好像好不受歡迎,這些待遇通常都只會在旅行時去不歡迎遊客的高傲國家才領教到。

我們又要另覓一間印度餐廳了!

在雜誌看到 Gaylord 有 Sunday Brunch 就往一試, 以印度餐廳來說 Gaylord 是老牌名店也走比較高檔次的路線, 客路應以富貴印度食客為主, 店的環境當然是要比重慶大廈的多間咖喱王好,當日所見食客除印度人香港人外, 還有日本人 / 韓國人/ 外國人等的不同種族, 但係唔係高級就係好.....?! 在雜誌看到 Gaylord 有 Sunday Brunch 就往一試,
以印度餐廳來說 Gaylord 是老牌名店也走比較高檔次的路線,
客路應以富貴印度食客為主, 店的環境當然是要比重慶大廈的多間咖喱王好,
當日所見食客除印度人香港人外, 還有日本人 / 韓國人/ 外國人等的不同種族,
但係唔係高級就係好.....?!

Gaylord 的 Sunday Bruch選擇真的很少, 全場數埋祗有約 10 樣食物

Tandoori Chicken - 又乾又o鞋, 空有外在美而無內在味

Malabari 魚 - 魚柳全無味道, 咖喱汁不香不辣又唔酸, 失望

咖喱雞 - 急凍雞脾肉也全無味道, 咖喱又係不香不辣, 和 Malabari 魚同出一徹

咖喱雜菜 - 全場最好食的咖喱了, 祗有這個咖喱我有再添食

羊肉灌腸 - 買相有點突核, 像乾了的米田共, 吃了一舊, 唔羶, 但無興趣食多舊
印度炒飯 - 飯粒分明, 配咖喱雜菜好食

Mashed Spinach - 一句講哂, 唔好食, 菠菜蓉內的不像是芝士粒, 似豆腐粒多點!
竟然無咖喱羊 - 真奇怪


熱盤就係得咁多,應知不同的咖喱食品應有不同味道不同層次
的色香味辣, 但 Gaylord 的咖喱就是不温不火不辣, 幾款咖喱都似一個味道


沙律有 2 款, 祗有一款雞豆沙律好吃比較啱食, 另一款係生洋蔥生青紅椒粒粒,
絕不合香港人口味.

甜品 - 雜果盤 (西瓜 / 波蘿 / 蜜瓜粒 ), 不知名的糕點一款,
另有一款像印度版楊枝金露甜品 -吃到有芒果味 / 奶味 / 椰汁味 / 也有西米,
但超甜, 甜 到食一匙就唔會食第二匙

另印式脆香夾餅和傳統的 Naan 烤餅是即叫即做, order 才送上, 這 2 個好食


全店祗有三個服務員, 除印度藉經理英語能力好外, 其餘 2 人有點問非所答,
但 3 人都好好笑容.

$120 + 10% - 不是價錢平貴的問題, 是對這店的咖喱感失望, 睇怕都無下次.
還是重慶大廈的咖喱比較啱我這個平民百性.

,雖然飯粒呈較硬身,但感覺較為健康。

  選擇的印度烤芝士(Tandoori Paneer Tikka),據聞是水牛芝士,咀嚼時察覺較為粉質,烘焙的芝士必是香濃,鹹度不重,奶油香味濃。純粹咀嚼芝士必會較膩,但拌與蔬菜同吃時便美味。

  執筆時那位友人過著幸福愉快的生活呢,祝前程似錦。

店子裝潢華麗,至於食物感覺就較家庭式,咖喱食品質素一般,而且煮的方式碟碟都差不多,食食吓有D悶添!最好的食是所有烤包,真的很好!至於場上旱有的 Indian Life Band,我們都不太欣賞,高調的女聲有點"倩女幽魂" feel,由頭唱到尾,成為傾偈的障礙。

晚飯唔會再來. 碟頭太細. 太貴. 唔值!

重有 2 個女伙計, 成晚面黑黑. 唔會過來招呼人.
企系度都唔識比杯水你, 杯水飲晒又唔'針'.

好耐之前已經留意到呢間印度餐廳, 嗰日終於有機會黎試. 我第一次去一間咁有印度local味既餐廳, 廳餐入面有好多好印度既裝潢, 而且比我一般去既印度餐廳黎得正式同整潔. 7點去到都仲係無咩人, 待應生問清楚我哋係無訂枱之後就帶我哋去左窗邊位坐底.想左黎好耐, 但係無諗過要食咩. 反正黎印度餐廳一定要食印度簿餅同咖喱嫁啦! 雖然餐牌有中文菜名, 不過有d野仍然都係唔係咁sure係d咩野. 不過見到佢d印度簿餅有咁多款就已經好開心. 平時好鐘意食印度薄餅, 不過平時都係得一兩款揀. 見到呢到有咁多款, 決定叫一款平時未見過既黎試下, 再叫個咖喱, 加個前菜. Pani Poori (酥炸脆麥球配甜酸濃汁及薯仔) $42: 淨係睇個名既時候, 我以為會好似酒樓嗰d炸蝦球咁, 成個波都係炸出黎咁. 但係呢味菜上枱既時候同我想像中既都幾大出入. 佢係一塊脆脆既麥片, 上面放左一堆類似薯仔沙律, 再淋左d甜酸汁係上面. 一口一個, 嗰塊墊底既野好脆, 好似薯片咁, 但係我又唔出佢係炸出黎咁油, 反而覺得佢好似烘過黎咁. 加埋面頭嗰個酸酸地既汁, 作為餐前小食開胃認真啱!Chicken masal

我第一次去一間咁有印度local味既餐廳, 廳餐入面有好多好印度既裝潢, 而且比我一般去既印度餐廳黎得正式同整潔. 7點去到都仲係無咩人, 待應生問清楚我哋係無訂枱之後就帶我哋去左窗邊位坐底.

想左黎好耐, 但係無諗過要食咩. 反正黎印度餐廳一定要食印度簿餅同咖喱嫁啦! 雖然餐牌有中文菜名, 不過有d野仍然都係唔係咁sure係d咩野. 不過見到佢d印度簿餅有咁多款就已經好開心. 平時好鐘意食印度薄餅, 不過平時都係得一兩款揀. 見到呢到有咁多款, 決定叫一款平時未見過既黎試下, 再叫個咖喱, 加個前菜.

Pani Poori (酥炸脆麥球配甜酸濃汁及薯仔) $42: 淨係睇個名既時候, 我以為會好似酒樓嗰d炸蝦球咁, 成個波都係炸出黎咁. 但係呢味菜上枱既時候同我想像中既都幾大出入. 佢係一塊脆脆既麥片, 上面放左一堆類似薯仔沙律, 再淋左d甜酸汁係上面. 一口一個, 嗰塊墊底既野好脆, 好似薯片咁, 但係我又唔出佢係炸出黎咁油, 反而覺得佢好似烘過黎咁. 加埋面頭嗰個酸酸地既汁, 作為餐前小食開胃認真啱!

Chicken masala 咖喱雞 $95: 咖喱雞同烤餅一齊上枱既時候候, 我確實係有5分鐘時間去懷疑呢個咖喱雞係唔係我order嗰個, 定係烤餅都會送個小咖喱點既呢? 不過係5分鐘之後我見無人再ling野上黎我就知呢個就係價值$95既咖喱雞!! 味道唔錯, 都幾辣, 但係好惹味. 但係個size實在太~~~~~ 迷你喇! 得三舊雞~~~ 幾好味都好難說服我呢碟野值 $95....

Peshawari Naan 果仁提子烤餅 $30: 呢到既烤餅唔係用黃油烤到一層層嗰種, 要係烘出黎嗰種. 口感唔錯. 果仁提子永遠都係好配搭, 放入烤餅一樣得, 幾特別!

食完以上三碟之後, 其實都唔係幾夠飽, 不過因為d呢到d野唔係咁值呢個價, 所以就埋單走人出去食過. 埋單後送上幾樽開頭唔知係咩黎既野. 同朋友研究左一陣子之後, 我決定舉手問waiter. 原來係印度口香糖~~~ 第一啖放落口既時候有d怪怪地, 不過含左一陣就發現個味道都幾特別. 同埋, 除咖喱味真係一流...

叫了3 pot 咖喱, 一pot, 勁辣, Chicken Tindaloo, (比Vindaloo更辣), 一pot, Lamb Korma, 一pot Keema Masala, (碎羊肉Masala).

3種不同辣度既咖喱, 大、中、小全部叫齊. 大家既然可以勁辣, Tindaloo 要先試, 不過, 不同口味的朋友, 反而覺得要先食香口的Korma. 由我既口味中, 就先由Tindaloo開始. 味道其實比起自己最愛的Masala咖喱, 冇咁香口, 其中原因是香料不多, 但辣得非常. 起初食落去, 帶少少甜味的醬基本上可以接受, 不過個after taste, 辣味係要在成個醬連肉連Naan Bread/飯, 吞哂落肚之後才浮現出來. 各人都是食完, 停了工才開始指定動作.....飲水. 感覺都幾刺激下.

Korma, 若有辣不得的朋友, 呢個Korma, 係唔辣得既朋友必試既椰子果仁乳酪咖喱. 正因為完全不辣, 香料又不多. 甜同椰子味是Korma既主角. 食完頭先勁辣的Tindaloo, 再食Korma, 可中和一下.

未說Keema Masala 之前, 先講講是晚的 Tandoori, Paneer Tikka, (烤芝士), 這是水牛芝士, 所以比較粉口. 咬落沒有 "吱吱聲" 既感覺. 不過, 芝士, 烤出來必定是非常之香. 咸味不重, 因為印度芝士調製時, 是不用落鹽的. 所以我們食出的, 是真正的奶油香. 我們亦要了芝士烤餅, 同樣香口非常.

好似唔係幾夠食, Keema Masala是我們加叫的, 一砵碎羊肉,就免治肉醬咖喱, 如果單一用來撈飯食, 相信一砵, 已經可以飽死你. 因為是Masala的關係, 味道非常香口, (Masala) 是用香料用得最多既一種咖哩. 辣度小至中, 但香料味一基本上完全蓋過其辣味. 喜愛香口食物既人士, 一定喜歡. 不過, 碎羊肉, 看落份量好似比起其他兩個的多, 所以, 係好漏下架.

Gaylord 呢度, 長期有live band 表演傳統印度音樂, 令人感覺身處於印度的上等家庭中食飯一樣. 聽傳統印度之音, 總好過迫你看Bollywood猛片, 看著一個男/女跳舞, 之後一齊跳, 再而成街人跳. 這兒價錢係高尚了少少, 但一樣同重慶森林咁正宗. 而且最重要, 環境好, 啱傾計.

Indian cuisine reminds me of the good old university days when dining out was a luxury. Those were the good times! This meal was with the same old crowds mentioned so it did bring back a lot of memories. We picked Gaylord because of the relatively more comfortable environment compared with those in Chung King Mansions.

We were assigned the VIP room at the end of the dining hall. Perfect! A perfect environment to talk and catch up with good old friends. I would not consider the decor and environment as authentic at all but it was nice and cozy, a bit westernized for sure. Apparently the offer buffet that night but we opted for a la carte because we were all too lazy to walk out to get our food all the time. HAHA
(1) Chicken & Vegetables Samosa
This was a classic standard dish to order as starters and I love them as always. I prefer the vegatables samosa this time but I think they used a little bit too much dough. For some reasons, I have a very strong feeling that these samosas were grabbed from the buffet table.
(2) Tandoori Mix Grill
It was served on a sizzling hot plate with a delicious smell filling the room. The chicken was too dry though while the prawn was wonderful with just the right amount of flavors and seasonings. The Seekh Kabab (lamb sausage kabab) was the highlight of this dish and that was why we ordered an extra dish to share.
(3) Seekh Kabab
It was wonderful, the flavors were great. The minced meat was tightly packed to form the sausage but it was soft on every bite. Great texture, not bad at all.
(3) Paneer Tikka Lajawab (Grilled Cheese)
An interesting dish in my opinion. It was grilled cheese, grill block of cheese to be exact. However, there was lack of cheese flavors and texture was like tofu but only harder. It was so-so, a new dish to me for sure.
(4) Chicken Korma
One of my favorite non-spicy "curry." The sauce was rich and deep, very nice. Yes it was creamy, which means heavy on the cream maybe but it tasted very good, I don't mind at all. Please be minded that if my understanding is correct, the authentic way to prepare curry is to use onion based paste which take a long time to prepare and master. Many places now opt to use milk / cream / flour as a substitute. That was my feeling of this dish and I can be wrong.
(5) Chicken Madaras
I used to be very reluctant to eat hot and spicy food but gradually I am slowly having a higher tolerance for it. One is because I want to be able to enjoy a wider variety of food and two is because I have the belief that the hot food would help me sweat out the humidity inside my body. I am not sure how true that is but hey I am enjoying the food ! haha ... The chicken Madaras was rather spicy in a good way of course. The flavor was very strong and the sauce was a lot thicker than the Korma for some reasons. It seemed to have a very strong herb taste though.
(6) Achaar Gosht (Lamb)
I only had a few spoonful of this dish because while the sauce was rich and flavorable, it gave me a sour kind of taste like Kang Som (sour curry) in Thai cuisine. Don;t get it wrong, I love Kang Som and I once made it myself at the Blue Elephant Cooking School in Bangkok, but just not quite the same since it was a totally different dish! And yes, the curry served was quite spicy as well!
(7) Aloo Gobi (Vegi)
This dish was more about the paste instead of the curry sauce and it was alright. There was a mixtures of various vegetables which I could not really distinguish myself. I do taste alot of cauliflowers and alot of herbs. A fair dish in my opinion.
(8) Naan / Paneer Kulcha / Roomali Roti
How can an Indian cuisine go without Naan! In additional of the Naan, we also ordered some cheese Naan (Paneer Kulcha). Both types of Naan were a bit disappointing because they were overly thick and firm, closer to pita bread than Naan in my humble opinion. The handkerchief size Roti was thinner but it was rather greasy. I was expecting better Naan from this place especially with an open oven area showing customers the making process of tandoori rotiyan. Chung King Mansions, I am coming back very soon!

* Naan - too thick and too firm

自問對食物不是要求高, 又不喜歡浪費食物! 但昨天中午卻令我破戒!昨天中午打算去食爵樂印度餐廳, 因為有cash coupon.. 一點去到時已經有點餓, 我們一行2人點了2份set lunch...食物一點40分才到, 就勁餓! 服務真是一般, 成間餐廳只有一個witress, 但我從未見過佢笑!食物賣相不錯, 同其照片一様...但味道就..............我真的食唔落, 所有味道都是怪怪的! 我只食左5份一, 那五分一是去除餒了的包片...冇味的先食得落...drink係好穏陣的manage juice....都可以係有怪味!可能這間餐廳太正中了, 本人真受不了!

相当有名的印度餐厅,场地不太大,装饰得雅致,印度服务生彬彬有礼。中午去,午市套餐的价位较低,但选择有限;自己单点价格就高一些。中乎两者之间的是自助餐,98元一位,可以把各种新奇的印度菜尝个遍。以前总顾虑自助餐的菜式会比较粗放。这一家自助的东西却都做得有声有色。烧烤的鸡和羊肉很可口,炸土豆角(samosa)大概是香港最好的,咖喱的种类很多,无论是鱼、羊肉或蘑菇,都是有滋有味。随送的印度薄饼是现烤的,香脆诱人。甜品除了鲜果外,有一种乳酪球泡在椰奶中的,很特别。
