感覺上好像很高級,而實際去幫趁時又怎樣?

IFC二期,從中環地鐵行過去的確很遠,上到去四樓,完全沒有人,一出電梯就見到H One的Logo了。
入內,首先是見到蛋糕櫃,接著是一排的餐桌,一個人也沒有,原來所有人都集中於最內面,可以望到維港海景的部分。
我們坐的是遠離海景的座位,而實際上只有三桌是直接在窗邊的,要坐在那裡可能要早幾個月Book定。
很快我們就遇上第一個難題,就是Menu上部分菜式看不明白。在下經常接觸意大利菜,但有些真的考起了,例如什麼是「Ossobuco」?
可能見我們不像是那裡的常客,Assistant Manager很快就走來詢問有沒有什麼要幫助,而在下也不客氣的問她一些在下不明白的菜式。她用英文解釋,還是有一點不明白,結果她召來了一個本地男侍應來,才知道「Ossobuco」是牛膝。
上網再查,「Ossobuco」是意大利文中的「bone with a hole」,整個菜式的名字是「Ossobuco alla milanese」,米蘭風燉牛膝。對不起,在下真的不懂,不過經理也很耐心的解釋,並沒有看不起我們的感覺,果然是高級餐廳的服務。

幸而我們看得懂的還有很多,結果也自主地選了三道菜,再由經理推介多一道,總共四樣。

兩位飯友是愛蠔之人,也就每人點了兩隻,在下請他們為在下點一隻,而吃下去並不反感,沒有腥味也易入口。根據他們的說法,這裡的生蠔,價錢和質素都和Oyster Express差不多。

「Hand Crafted Pappardelle, Slow Cooked Wild Boar Ragout and Shaved Pecorino」
Pappardelle是意大利闊麵,但比起平時吃開的闊麵Fettuccine闊兩三倍,像間尺一樣闊。而這一道菜的配料有點像肉醬,但選用的是野豬肉製作的肉醬,再加上用羊奶製成的Pecorino芝士碎而成。
如圖所見,份量頗細,Pappardelle很少吃,覺得很有趣,麵質不錯,野豬肉醬是夠濃夠香又鬆軟,但覺得和一般肉醬闊麵相比又沒有極大的不同,中規中距之作。
「Jet Fresh Fish in Carta Fata, Mussel, Clam, Fresh Tomatoes, Herbs and Light Shell Fish Reduction」

簡單來說就是海鮮大雜燴,但製法特別,把材料包括魚、青口、蛤,放入名為Carta Fata的膠袋之中封好然後去焗,原裝上碟,然後經理就在我們面前剪開。

在下一直都不太喜歡海鮮,特別是魚,但這一道菜可以說是改變了在下對海鮮的看法,中間的魚,一切下去,感覺像在切豆腐,放進口中,鮮甜不腥,又非常嫩滑,在下從來吃過這樣好味的魚。青口和螺都OK,而另一重點就是那些湯汁,鮮甜得在下想把其全部喝下去,而朋友們對這道菜也讚不絕口,看看旁邊有兩台都有女士點這一道菜在吃,應該是此店的皇牌之一。
「Chicken Makhani, Spiced Chicken Roasted in Tandoori Oven, Simmered in Rich Tomato Butter Gravy」

這餐廳除了歐陸菜之外,印度菜是另一主打,在下所見都有兩三台是南亞人士幫趁的,而在下剛好記得這一款雞以前吃過覺得不錯,副經理又剛好有推介,於是就點了。
Chicken Makhani,要譯就是牛油燜雞,是北印度的菜式,重點是於加入了牛油,增加了香濃減少了辛辣,而且汁中加入了蕃茄醬,更是在下的至愛。
在下吃咖哩,最喜歡是香濃,不要那些像水的,而這裡完全做到了。在下本身不大吃得辣,而這一道菜的辣味也剛剛好是在下接受的程度,但反而朋友們覺得太辣...是在下接受辣的程度提高了嗎?
「Dum Dum Biryani, A Fragrant Refined Indian Rice and 7 Different Vegetables, Baked under a Delicate Pastry Crust」

Biryani就是經常吃得到的多色印度飯,實際上整個南亞都很普遍,基本上是用上大量不同的香料的炒飯,而這裡的這道菜就加上了7種蔬菜,再加上像酥皮一樣的蓋去焗,同樣是由經理於我們面前開蓋。

很明顯這是配合Chicken Makhani一起吃,飯當然很有水準,特別的是朋友發現了當中有一種蔬菜是非常難吃的,在下挑了出來也覺得很難吃,但混在飯和雞之中又不大覺得,很有趣。而也由於這個飯的關係,在下吃到差不多全飽。
當然,就算多飽,我們是不會放過甜品的。
「Warm Valraona Melting Chocolate Cake, Hazelnut Ice Cream, Bitter Orange Sauce」

簡單來說就是心太軟,當然軟心流出是必然會做到的事,朋友吃過就認為這是他吃過最好吃的心太軟,不太甜,但在下直言至今也未發展出一套完善的評價心太軟系統,故此也不便多寫。
「Mamma "Luisella" Favourite Tiramisu, Pistachio and Almond Biscotti」

Pistachio是開心果、Almond是杏仁,Biscotti是意大利文中的Biscuits,於是大家也可以想像得到這一客Tiramisu並非一般的咖啡粉舖面。事實上吃下去由於有這些非常有咬口的東西在,感覺和一般的Tiramisu很不同。在下嘗試只吃Tiramisu部分,芝士是軟酒味足夠,但質感太軟,像是快融化似的,而且整杯Tiramisu的芝士十分偏黃,個人覺得不是在下的那杯茶,當作是有特色的Tiramisu看待好了。

朋友去外邊蛋糕櫃選的芒果芝士蛋糕,外加榛子雪糕,個人覺得味道沒有突出之處,是賣相的確頗精緻而已。
全靠那個Biryani所賜,這一餐吃得非常之飽,而我們也有留意侍應的服務,絕對是高水準,一般的餐廳侍應會做的是倒水收碟,而這裡的就會做到一眼關七,憑經驗會看到每一台客人大約有什麼需要,例如當在下研究了Menu同一頁超過一分鐘之時,已經會主動上前詢問,又例如經理送上那一客Biryani之時,看到在下在為其他食物拍照,就用手捧著那一客飯於在下的旁邊,等在下拍完「未開封」的樣子,才再拿走,開封,再上台。
侍應不算是俊男美女,但就讓在下感到「剛剛好」的高水準,不會太親切太Hardsell,又能做到服務周到,在下想起同是IFC的Via Quadronno,那Hardsell到爆的經理,真的是兩個層次,以這個價錢來說,服務的分數十分之高。

但可惜的是,這裡的環境比在下想像中嘈雜,怎看這店都是走Fine Dining的路線,但嘈吵的程度和去吃自助餐沒有太大分別,主要是有一台十多人的在高聲聊天,那感覺和那裝修環境落地海景有點格格不入的感覺。
而更進一步的是,內裡的VIP房經常有人出出入入,而看見有人在踢拖,又有幾個菲傭以平常的裝束出沒,於是在下心想,這裡是富貴人家的飯堂嗎?在下當日有刻意執好裝束才來,但結果發現好像是在下做得太多了。
最後,副經理主動和我們聊天,談起店內的Sunday Lunch自助餐,又談到他們的行政總廚會在下星期來香港,並推出他親自設計的特別Menu,並留下了卡片給我們。
而在下覺得,這裡的食品質素屬於中上(把價錢計算在內),服務質素一流,但環境就有點未達水準,整體來說算是OK吧。
埋單每人大約五百多元(生日的在下免費,hehe),以這個價錢,在下會想試其他同級的餐廳多於再次幫趁這裡,就算要再來,都一定是和重要的人坐海景位。不過看到網上的食評,說這裡Book海景位經常會出現甩漏的情況,也就把在下的熱情再減退一些。

這篇食評是四月的事,大少的生日,reserve window seat,維港景是我來這裡的主因,本想選harlan,不過大少喜歡這間,我也沒所謂,反正我們不喜愛吃tasting menu早就reserve window seat,於訂位之時已向reception說明是為男友慶祝生日,但到達的時份卻告訴我沒有window seat,問我可不可以坐second roll,我好想問:如果你係我你又會點揀先? 這間算是城中名店,禮貌服務竟如此不周,如何稱得上是fine dining?! 最後,我沒跟reception吵,只是不作聲,在這情況下吵鬧,不能做到雙嬴,有失身份的事,還是不做麵包不錯,幾鬆軟,但不特別,而且我不喜歡包,吃了幾口就算appetizers要Soft Shell Crab,唔夠crispy,不過個sauce就okay,但我在泰國吃過更好的男友喜歡煙燻鳗魚linguine,就點一份,魚子醬沒令大少失望,咸咸香香的,超掂自己就要Clam linguine,蜆肉肥美,意粉不會過稔夠chewy,幾鮮味再點多一份燒春雞,可惜令人失望,食落鞋口,可能煮得太耐,唔值得吃甜品,二人都點str

甜品,二人都點strawberry nepoleon,說真的,是整晚最好的一份,餅底脆口,相信下了不少功夫,但略嫌不夠千層,只像一塊很脆的餅乾

沒點餐酒,是晚跟朋友happy hour過後才來,亦慶幸不點酒,開瓶費索價四百呢

最後manager為了彌補沒有window seat的不足,送上lime sorbert兩杯,味道不差,但比起cova的話,還是有點距離

在國金這個地方,sell的應該是quality service&dining,而且收得呢個價位,服務態度應該可以更好吧,由一早的強硬態度,到最後竟乖乖送上兩杯sorbert,錯的都是你,說真的服務可以叫作零,好令人失望

上星期六係我老公既生日....所以就係openrice呢度做過一個research..跟住就打黎呢度訂枱我要求坐window side, 雖然佢唔係真係比一張枱係正window隔離...但係佢安排左我地張枱係一間房裏面, 而呢間房一共有六張枱, 所有window係落地玻璃, 感覺好舒適, 好private, 服務好好, d waiter好nice我地叫左三樣野食, 1) 頭盤有幾種面包 + 好特別既sauce 2) 烚clam (d clam好鮮甜, 好大隻) 3)長通粉with tomato sauce (有d新鮮蕃茄仔 & cheese) (超級好味) 4)pizza (好大個...夠四個人食)佢d野雖然唔係好大碟 (pizza除外), 但係食完我地都已經好飽好飽.......

吃了不少包,飽了幾成,前菜也是要湯好了。事實上,跟樓下的元祖店一樣,這裡的湯是強項之一。餐牌上是三選一,要了意大利海鮮湯Cioppino。因為喜歡Bouillabaisse,所以我也很喜歡Cioppino,這裡的用上幾款貝類來熬,不是說不好喝,也很鮮甜,但喝起上像是龍蝦湯多一點,在花旗國喝過不少正宗的Cioppino,是魚湯來的吧!當然如果說龍蝦湯,我還是會推薦Harlans的Lobster Bisque;反而磨菇及黑松露湯就很不錯,又濃又滑又香,很有水準。不過說起磨菇湯,我也覺得樓下的Magic Mushroom Cappuccino好一點;

在吃主菜之前,要了兩個薄餅來分吃,記憶中這裡的薄餅是不錯的。但是晚的薄餅做得底部幾韌,一點不鬆,Isola做的比這裡好得多。比較喜歡傳統口味的水牛芝士、蕃茄及羅勒的組合,芝士味及蕃茄是簡單又合味道的。相比之下,另一個巴馬火腿及火箭菜的組合就更普通;

主菜方面,第一道主菜先來些澱粉質。明知這裡的手打意粉不錯,但是晚卻想吃意大利飯,就要了這裡的終極意大利飯「The Ultimate Risotto」。用了雜菇及香腸作配料,味道都濃郁而又有芝士香,不錯。可惜意大利飯咬下去是斷開粉碎而不是有咬口而韌,明顯是煮好一半再翻煮的,索價二百二一客的,可以更好吧!第二道主菜選了燒春雞,肉質不算嫩滑,但也幾軟熟而不韌,味道卻平平。伴碟的薯塊及蕃茄就幾鹹,醬汁也是,所以剩下的麵包也派不上用場。在席中我的主菜算是最便宜,但別人的牛柳又或是有機豬排都只是平平,只有羊架是卻有水準;

甜品方面,就是湯及麵包以外比較有水準的一環。要了士多啤梨千層餅,聰明的加了糖漿在餅面,做得很脆,縱使沒有千層的效果也不會太差。內裡的云呢拿marsphone芝士做得不算十分甜,也有云呢拿籽的香味。作配的開心果雪糕又滑又香,很出色。這個甜品索價98蚊,算是物有所值。

這裡的開瓶費也是跟樓下一般的四百,是絕對不鼓勵客人帶普通酒的,而酒牌上。隨手開了加州Napa Valley Caymus 04年的Cab Special Selections,喝過幾口,果香味濃,幾圓混及易入口。

埋單每位六百二十蚊左右,有時吃得貴與不貴也不是問題,物有所值就可以了,而這裡,不值這個價錢。

07年既聖誕節黎左依度celebrate.本應係book左window seat 既.但入到竟然話無...要坐係出面望唔到境既位.雖然manager已經即刻送上champagne.但我都特登嬲到出面.唔洗3分鐘manager又同我地講可以坐番出去.跟住又主動同我地影相.個日既menu係X'mas set.salad之後係1個clam tomato spaghetti.依個做得幾好.感覺好fresh.main dish我要左魚.依個都係有tomato sauce係底既.好滑!當然有live band係餐廳入面周圍唱歌.佢地會行埋你身邊問你想聽咩歌.有d情侶就話唔洗.但我唔明.音樂佩埋個個環境真係prefect.佢地唱左首she比我.真係好浪漫...1定有下次.

Back for Sunday brunch. Still a great place for a relaxing morning with your family

Dessert –All the signature dishes from H; served in the dessert corner. I will recommend crème brulee and tiramisu. Too “ordinary “??? But try them, you’ll see the difference. Real vanilla seeds used for crème brulee and the aroma is beautiful

After meal, they also organize Kids Club (at G Bar) and also Cooking Class –for free. So, what else can you ask for ??

My wife and I came here on the night of the 2nd day of Chinese New Year. It was a night we spared for ourselves, among all the dinners at parents' and relatives' and with friends all through this festive period.

We didn't plan it but it happened to be the night of the HK$ 7 million firework, so since we were there we enjoyed it right out on the patio of IFC. It was very nice and not crowded there. It was also innovative this year that we could see clearly the year "2008" and "Beijing" (in Chinese) displayed by the firework.

And of course about the food, we deliberately focused on ordering pastas, since my wife and I both enjoy good, al dente pasta which we know they can make well. My wife had Linguine vongole and I had Tagliatelle with red prawns.

Both were made perfectly. The red prawn is a very prized ingredient in Italian food and indeed tastes excellent. But one thing I'd like to note is that for many of us who are used to the Chinese style of making shrimps, which make them rather "crispy", we may think the red prawns here aren't fresh as its texture appears rather "mushy." That would be incorrect because fresh shrimps should have a mushy texture when cooked, without adding soda powder, etc.

These red prawns have large heads and small bodies, and one should finish them by sucking out of the heads as well. Their freshness and tastes are uniquely nice.

The pasta with red prawns only appear among their chalkboard selections, so if you see it try it, as it may not be there when you visit next time.

Their cakes ($30 each) are excellent as well. The variations on chocolate in particular are really among the best I've ever had.

今天朋友生日~去了這家H one為他興祝,我點了個mushroom pizza~spring chicken,一beef fillet~春雞賣相尚可,味道還可以~再吃那個mushroom pizza,口感不錯~菌味充足~細看下是加了黑菌醬在內~味道非常好~可以再試~至於牛柳~雖未去到一級水平,但火喉控制也差不多,我們點了5成,還看見內裡的肉汁~非常juicy~整體不錯~還會再去~

I came here last night with a few friends. We ordered: 1. Parma Ham Pizza: the pizza base is not crispy enough, but this might just be my personal preference. 7/102. Fried Calamari: nothing special, taste like every fried calamari you'd expect from any restaurant. 6/103. Pan seared foie gras: quite a disappointment, the foie gras tasted a bit bland, lacking the strong aroma i'd expect. Perhaps the sauce overpowered the foie gras? 6/104. Burger: for 200 bucks I expected a very nice burger.

I came here last night with a few friends. We ordered:

4. Burger: for 200 bucks I expected a very nice burger. Well its a decent burger but certainly didn't wow me. To be fair the burger was juicy and on par with ones I had at Intercontinental. But then again, I never had a truly satisfying burger in HK. The bun lacked the aroma and the sauce they used on the burger didn't exactly bring out the strong taste of beef either. 7/10

Service was good, the atmosphere romantic. I really like the guitar band too. But the bottomline is, the food just wasnt that great.

接著,是西西里式龍蝦雜錦海鮮湯。海鮮用料重手,全是大大件的新鮮靚貨,湯內還附一件蒜茸麵包,以陣容計的確無得頂,不過效果有點過咸,味道卻只是一般。
 
正式主菜以先,有黑松露燴鴨肉Orecchietti。Orecchietti是一種特別的意粉,找不到翻譯,總之形狀似足耳仔。由於黑松露醬汁味道濃烈,再加上芝士片,是一道幾漏的菜式,不敢全部吃完。
 
主菜有兩款,先講木石烤野生意大利海鱸,鱸魚烤得很靚,但調味略嫌不足,比預期中遜色了。不過另一款主菜,炭燒特級上等美國牛肉,卻是無比的美味:牛肉充滿肉香,又有完美的半肥瘦比例,重點是炭燒的程度拿捏得剛好,成品香氣撲耳;吃來更是豐腴肥美,滋味無比,絕對是近年吃過最難忘的牛扒!
 
甜品也沒有馬虎的,是精選甜蜜組合:底層是三球紅莓味雪葩,中層是細滑意式奶凍拼脆酥皮,頂層則是招牌朱古力軟心蛋糕。底層清新;中層則細滑撞鬆脆,味道與質感皆有火花;頂層的軟心朱古力蛋糕個子小小,朱古力味卻濃郁得很,美味非常。這個三合一甜品,絕對教我們驚艷了!
 
最後一杯香濃的Graffeo咖啡,完全滿足了。當晚也有見到Harlan G,高大肥胖的身型,不禁想起近日看過《五星級大鼠》中的廚神!

  
除了靚景美食,服務亦十分殷勤有禮,我們全程都吃得非常愉快;可以說,是我咁大個女最滿意的一餐生日飯。雖然較貴,我們都覺得是物有所值的!

The restaurant gave us a rather good impression on entering the premises, with a nice view and perfect lighting, though a bit noisy . Three of us visited for our first time 'H One' on Saturday [the 28th] night after watching a very over-packed CG action 'Transformer' at Palace IFC. The restaurant gave us a rather good impression on entering the premises, with a nice view and perfect lighting, though a bit noisy [which one wouldn't really mind in a modern Italian hip dining room]. There were a lot to choose from the just above average wine list, but the marking up is generally more than double [to 150%] the retail price in a local wine cellar. The bread basket and the food were very good. So far so good . . . but we were very annoyed by the over-attentive service. Time and again, we were approached by different waiters / waitresses asking us if we would like another bottle of water; our conversation were being over heard a couple of times and being questioned immediately by someone sneaking from behind. For a while, we were totally unable to carry on with our conversation for more than two minutes. I have no choice but to complain to the 'floor supervisor' before we're left alone to dine and chat comfortably; but then when we asked for service, their responses and looks were kind of (??) weird!? The supervisor was kind enough to offer us complimentary dessert.
