Don't be fooled by the name! There's nothing "Hokkaido" about this Hokkaido Dairy Farm Milk Restaurant!

A friend and I went to this place for lunch today. We arrived at 12.40 and there was a big queue. The waiting area was extremely hot and it took us 20 very uncomfortable minutes before we were seated at a table. We both ordered the cha-siu spaghetti set with scramble eggs, ham and toast. The food was served within minutes of ordering, as you would expect in a restaurant with such a simple/repetitive menu. The cha-siu was very chewy and bland, probably because it's been in the soup for too long, and the whole dish wasn't warm enough. The toast didn't taste fresh - flat and very dry (the bread itself was dry, not due to the fact that it's been toasted). The scrambled eggs wasn't light enough, and it's hard to find any traces of the sweetness from the hokkaido milk. Ham was ham - average supermarket stuff.

Overall, it didn't live up to our expectations. Probably wouldn't go again.

Lunch time in Central during class time is always a matter of me deciding whether I feel like bread (sandwiches) or something ricey. I'm not a huge fan of soup noodles for some strange reason when I'm in HK which is a pity since there are so many wonton mein places dotted around Central, but I guess it's because I would rather save stomach space for my routine once-a-day-mon-to-fri tall hot chocolate from Starbucks served extra hot and no whipped cream rather than drinking some msg laden soup.So

So today, I was in the mood for bread seeing as I had char siu fan yesterday and originally I was going to head to Tsui Wah for my usual scrambled egg sandwich, but I remembered from Open Rice that there was a place just up the street that specialised in scrambled eggs made with 3.6 Hokkaido milk, aptly name Hokkaido Dairy Farm Milk Restaurant, so what the heck decided to try it.

It was up on the 8th floor of The Loop building, and once I stepped out I could see there was already a line of people waiting for tables. Luckily I was just one person, so I 'daap toi' meaning I just sit my behind on any empty seat at a table. The menu is quite breakfasty, involving toast, ham, eggs, macaroni and even Honky style waffles with peanut butter and condensed milk.

I went for their 3 inch scrambled egg sandwich made from 3.6 Hokkaido milk. Food came out in less than 10 mins and looks-wise it was simple yet appetising. Thick cut white toasted bread with a thick layer of scrambles. However, it didn't meet expectations... the eggs were decent creamier than normal scrambled eggs (not as heavy as the ones you can get in Australia i.e. Bills), but the bread was yuck. Thick lifeless white bread, which was slightly stale. I ended up only eating half the sandwich as I couldn't stomach the rest.

Maybe I went on a bad day, I mean so many people lining up means that the food must be somewhat decent right? Or maybe it's because it's cheap? My sandwich only cost $20 which is very cheap considering its location in Central. Anyways a return visit may be needed to verify the freshness of ingredients.

九月三十日 (星期四)老公仔今天回歸中環,有要事要辦!事前,先到北海道牧場餐廳吃下午茶點了三吋炒蛋多士加哄底加上火山美祿簡單而完美的下午茶餐呢三吋厚的炒蛋,炒得不太油膩,而且蛋香而滑,熱哄哄的多士就要趁早吃了,怕吸了太多炒蛋的油而會變軟,失卻口感火山美祿先吃了香濃的美祿粉下面的美祿就變得淡了我就偏偏喜歡吃美祿粉呢!!

能夠以蛋及义燒作招來實必有一定水準,吃的都是蛋、火腿、多士、义燒...等食物,先說义燒意粉,义燒實在普通過普通,而且枱上有麻油可供調味,我想大概因為食物本身麻麻,才以麻油來搭夠味道吧。跟餐的厚多士、火腿、蛋等都是一般茶餐廳水準,反而號稱'北海道3.6牛乳炒蛋三文治'確實不錯,炒蛋厚身且滑,夠蛋味,十分飽肚。最後杯凍華田,杯面盡是阿華田粉,創意搭夠,味道卻未有茶餐廳水準。總括來說,可以一試但價錢算貴。

九月十四日(星期二)上星期五本約了老公仔來吃,不過突然要去開會,就沒有吃lunch了所以今日補番上星期的北海道就早點來霸位吃比較早來到,不用等位點了兩個餐炒蛋火腿多士炒蛋算軟,比不上澳牛,但是比一般茶餐廳好吃多士,看過雜誌是加了蛋白的麵包,所以吃起來感覺都有一陣蛋白的淡香义燒通粉我們都欣賞這裡的通粉一來通粉質地比較硬,有口感二湯底很濃凍華田必叫的,上面的華田粉好吃呢!!!

綜合來講喱間都唔錯呀,值得讚既係個叉燒日本湯意粉,竟然好食過澳牛,不過炒蛋爭點呀,炒蛋始終係澳牛最好,多士未食過之下唔知呀,不過窩芙幾好味,同咖啡唔錯呀~!

專門來食厚蛋治同叉燒飯。中環鋪頭都幾大,一次晚上去,一次禮拜日去,得好少人。環境會覺得好舒服,也好安靜。叉燒飯ok,第一次食sauce直接放系飯度,真系幾鹹,最後食唔落。第二次sauce同叉燒飯分開上就好好多。厚蛋治,外形好吸引,因為好厚,顏色也好靚,見到都會好開心。可能因為外形好,我會覺得比叉燒飯更有特色,而且中式叉燒有好多鋪頭都可以做得好出色,不過蛋治d蛋有小小過油。

What a disappointing experience. We have been to the branch in Causeway Bay and wanted to try the Central Branch. Although it was mostly empty (only around 5 tables), the service was lacklustre (staff seemed to be half asleep) and very slow. We ordered the breakfast set with scrambled eggs which were soooooo salty that both my husband and myself could only take 1 bite. This is one of their specialties and should be done right consistently! And to top it off, the phone number for the Centra

朋友帶路,系威靈頓街某一商廈原來有此餐廳.

等得都唔算耐.

常餐: 1)多士炒蛋.多士鬆軟,但蛋不夠香滑,而且碟底有水既..??又唔係蛋汁喔~
2)叉燒通粉,都幾大碟.但係唔好食....
3)熱奶茶.唔知係咪真係用"北海道牛奶"調配.不香不濃不滑

通粉同多士我都食唔晒,原因係..食物偏鹹.食完我同朋友都好口渴...

銅鑼灣店光顧了三次,都未食晒想食既野。今日與同事們一行六人,一點鐘, 等了廿五分鐘入座。終於可以叫做,試盡了要試既食物喇。地方全白裝修,光猛。有點像飯堂。侍應應付我們N個「常餐」轉食物也很清釋接收。而我就是吃「常餐」以外的西多士餐!見大家「常餐」中的炒蛋不是太juicy,有點熟「透」。义燒,薄、瘦、"令"身,好好味呀!我的咖央西多,很厚!!!兩片軟軟的厚方包,夾了如奶皇味、橙黃色咖央醬,有點失望(對咖央醬),咖央一點都不突出。還有標榜蜜芽糖,代替糖漿,一點也不發覺囉,同普通無別。都係食「常餐」穩陣D。

見大家「常餐」中的炒蛋不是太juicy,有點熟「透」。义燒,薄、瘦、"令"身,好好味呀!
我的咖央西多,很厚!!!兩片軟軟的厚方包,夾了如奶皇味
、橙黃色咖央醬
,有點失望(對咖央醬),咖央一點都不突出。還有標榜蜜芽糖,代替糖漿,一點也不發覺囉,同普通無別。
都係食「常餐」穩陣D。
麵包有點脆!

Today went there again the second time of the week...I really like there, especially the low cost (compared to other places in central area) and high quality.Again I ordered the Hokkaido set lunch set, with scramble egg and macaroni, then hot coffee.The toast quality dropped...not as hot as crispy as before, the soup from macaroni is same as good but a bit oily today ....need to manually filtered the oil out....One thing not as good is, the ham even it's been pan fried, it's always cold......wou

One thing not as good is, the ham even it's been pan fried, it's always cold......would be good if everything is hot.

One problem they have is the amount of food is not stable....even the dishes came at the same time, the quantity can be quite different, especially the amount of 叉燒 and macaroni, as well the size of the scramble egg....been couple times that my egg is so small but my colleague's so big...almost double the size of mine


Well the amount of food is ok but would be good to have the 份量 be more consistent....

The taste still very good even the toast is not as good as 澳洲牛奶公司, the soup and scramble egg is better, so these items are must try!!!

銅鑼灣開了很久都沒有試過,今次終於在中環新分店試了。整體質素ok,環境舒服。同友人每人點了北海道牛奶餐,每份餐有义燒意粉、炒旦、火煺、多土及飲品。我們有一個轉了午餐肉及加錢轉格仔餅。炒旦:一般,都係澳洲好食。午餐肉:幾好食,煎得幾好。多士:都係一般,都係澳洲好食。义燒意粉:最好食,加了奶好creamy,义燒亦ok。加了日本乳的叻啡:叻啡味不是太香,不是太ok。格仔餅:ok環境舒服,想慢慢食個餐,係一個不錯的選擇。
