The afternoon tea set includes HK style french toast or any pastry and HK style milk tea. My favorite is the french toast as it is one of the best I've had in HK. The outside is crispy without being too hard while the inside is still soft. The peanut butter in the middle of the toast offsets the syrup perfectly. The milk tea is also great as it is smooth without being bitter or sour. It's the perfect chaser after the french toast.

They also have freshly baked pastries coming out of the kitchen every now and then. You can't help but turn your head to follow the aromatic smell. The pineapple buns and egg tarts are also popular here and you can't go wrong with those either. 

I have tried some of their cooked food but they are just average. The french toast and pastries are the gem here at Hong Lin.

本人對於康年既食品,並沒有疑問。但對於外買椰撻,想在這裡表達一點意見,並希望個位賣撻既阿姐,想一想。當日下午6點20分左右,我在門口要買2個椰撻(講真,佢的椰撻又幾好食)。個位阿姐居然使用隻手執起個撻,放入紙袋。仲要係幾隻手指接觸到個撻面。我見到後要求更換,她便自言自語地說:「咪換番比你囉」,語氣及態度惡劣。然後再用夾子取兩個椰撻放入紙袋,用力把它推給我手中。對於她的態度本人十分不滿,如果她以同一手法去服務遊客,相信會影響本地茶餐廳形象。

今天下午在旺角做完Gym,想搵嘢食,就來到「康年」。選了個下午茶餐「雞脾雜果沙律」雞脾不算大隻,皮很薄但算脆,肉味就較淡,欠豉油及香料味,普通啦。沙律勝在多生菜,感覺健康 熱奶茶就比較失望,冇茶味,奶又唔滑。這茶餐要$33,我覺得值$20。

吃過第一腸粉後,順道過來康年茶仔。早前在下在同一區的華民餐廳吃過茄牛通,今次在康年同樣被在下看中了茄牛通,於是無需考慮便進入了康年餐廳。進入店舖,已經是人山人海,幾乎擠迫到水洩不通,而且坐位間實在太窄,要互相遷就才可通過。雖然店內很多顧客在同一時間用餐,但是在下仍然可以輕易找到座位,不用等候。坐下並安頓後便落單,要一個特餐--茄茸鮮牛通。茄牛通終於上桌,湯底呈鮮紅色,看來幾稠,再加上牛通,相信是不錯。當第一口渴這湯確實是很稠很濃,而且帶有微酸,而牛肉也曾經炒過,味道就像飯餐的牛肉味道。然後跟著便是炒滑蛋及豬仔。豬仔包面白濛濛一片,掀起裡面是完全烘焙過的,因此有烘燶的視覺,另一面則塗上了煉奶,未見其烘燶的情況。在下便把部份炒蛋放在豬仔包一起吃,包確實很脆,而且帶有煉奶的甜味。吃過包後,再吃餘下的滑蛋,這蛋也炒得很滑,但是若不炒得少點時間,可能更好。而凍奶茶亦有茶味,奶和茶的比例恰到好處,而糖水亦未見特別多,相對地較有茶味康年與華民的茄牛通粉不相百仲,不過若論湯底,康年的湯底比較稠密,華民就沒有這麼的稠。然而華民是厚多士,而康年則是豬仔包。而當在下用餐期間,麵包師傅總會把一盤新鮮出爐的麵包

因為好口渴所以叫凍檸茶(少甜少冰),加$2便有大大杯
。茶底色水深,果然味道較濃而帶苦澀,而且沒有紅茶的香,因為太澀,自行加了半杯開水去混稀,尚算可以了。
不過用的檸檬片就非常新鮮多汁,可惜三片都不厚,檸檬汁並不夠充份和紅茶打交道。近來在新香園 (堅記)飲過的凍檸茶是人生中暫時覺得最好飲﹗

看返年前在民華吃茄通的食評,我是這樣形容:味道較酸亦欠有蕃茄的鮮甜美。康年的茄湯色水比民華的SHARP好多,果然
,味道來得鮮甜﹑自然,雖然沒像民華落了鮮茄粒,不過湯中不乏茄茸的存在,酸度亦沒有太搶,整體來說是好好飲﹗
而每一片牛肉都好嫩滑亦有咬口,敗畢在通粉煮耐左,吃起較淋。

年初二晚拜完年順便到嫲嫲附近的餐廳吃晚飯。六點正到埗,想不到年初二也有很多客。原本已經很擠迫的店顯得更迫挾。四人被安排在卡位,座位不大坐得不太舒服。年初二都是標新年價錢,比平日貴一點。點菜後很快便來,率先來的是海南雞飯。套餐包油飯、油菜和例湯。雞肉嫩滑無雪味,配的是姜蓉和酸梅醬,不是正統的吃法,味道尚可,這個價位可以接受。單點的魚蛋米,份量很多,魚蛋和魚片頭不夠彈牙,尚有魚味,米粉爽口不過稔,不過湯底魚味比之前稍淡。下次還是點回菠菜餃比較對味。最後來的咖哩牛腩煲熱辣辣上枱,一邊起泡泡地翻滾著一邊傳來陣陣咖哩香。馬上吃一口,夠熱又夠辣,有薯仔和洋蔥,不會只有咖哩汁。拌粒粒分明的新鮮白飯一起吃真的超合適,尤其是在寒冬下吃很開胃。分量頗大的兩人分吃也足夠。是是日最滿意的菜色。加了$20叫的凍奶茶,大大杯香濃滑溜,貴是貴點不過算是交足貨。康年另一個賣點是有自家工廠,常常有新鮮麵包出爐,品質不錯,價錢也不算貴,要不是太飽也想吃一個菠蘿油。

馬上吃一口,夠熱又夠辣,
有薯仔和洋蔥,不會只有咖哩汁。
拌粒粒分明的新鮮白飯一起吃真的超合適,
尤其是在寒冬下吃很開胃。
分量頗大的兩人分吃也足夠。
是是日最滿意的菜色。

下午十二時多來到這裡,因為不太肚餓,所以叫了菠蘿油餐,連一杯飲品。菠蘿油的菠蘿飽又熱又脆,配上冰凍的牛油味道真的不錯,有機會可以再試。不過個人覺得餐廳的食物偏貴,所以再來除了吃這個,未必會吃其他東西。

之前行過,打算隨便挑個餐廳去吃,入了這家,點了個擔擔撈麵+奶茶,撈麵很好吃,酸酸甜甜的,只是份量少,奶茶用的是BLACK AND WHITE,真的很棒,不過整餐價錢對我來說很貴,可能因為份量少的綠故吧,吃了五十多元。下次還是過對面吃JUNKFOOD吧。=_=
