黎左灣仔返工2個月都未試過lee間,上次見好多人,今日碰下運氣,唔洗等就有位啦。同同事各自叫左份午餐,我要左咖哩豬,豬扒好入味,咖哩味道唔錯,夠香,辣味夠,但唔食得辣嘅人就唔建議啦。個飯唔馬虎,乾身一粒粒,配咖哩唔會糊口。跟餐要左拉茶,免加一,價錢同食物質數成正比,都係一個唔錯嘅選擇。

這日在灣仔突然想念起星馬炒貴刁的味道,剛好想起附近莊士敦道有間一直有興趣去但仍未去過的馬來西亞餐廳怡保。相信馬來西亞餐廳應該一定會有炒貴刁食吧,於是便出發去食個late lunch。店內一貫小餐館格局,有約30-40個座位吧。地方都算打理得乾淨企理。這時人客不多只有另外三幾位。原來這裡週末也有提供下午茶餐,有10款選擇,包括三文治、多士、湯粉及飯類,而我想吃的炒貴刁亦在下午茶的餐牌上。那就簡單,一於點份炒貴刁下午茶餐,$32。餐飲選了熱拉茶。落好order,就聽到由廚房傳出來的炒鍋聲,再不用一會,我點的炒貴刁已在眼前了。麵條顏色深黑色又帶點油光,賣相真是有點南洋地道色彩呢。炒貴刁吵得滑又有油香,配料有魚片條和芽菜等,味道帶點微辣,其實邪惡得來亦頗惹味。但我總覺得欠了點在星馬食到的‘鍋氣’(還有脆豬油渣 ),感覺這碟炒貴刁的味道就差了一點點風味,不夠過癮。熱拉茶甜甜的,有點茶香,不過不失啦。

We got a table for 5 quite easily (even though later we had to share this with a single diner who sat down) and the set menu looked appetizing. The Bak Khat Te (I'm sure that's the wrong spelling but who cares..you know what I mean anyway
) was my choice until I spotted the Nasi Lemak. This is one of my favourite, if not my favourite SE Asian dish.
The crunchiness of the fried chicken, the chili sauce and the combination of mixing so many flavourful ingredients on a dish is a great taste-sensation.

The Nasi Lemak that they had was a beef satay version, which didn't match with the chicken version but still had a kick about the sauce and well-seasoned. The dried anchovies, nuts and other parts were all present and made for a good dish overall. Extra rice (just a little) was added. And with hot drink all for $58. The rice was well-cooked and the meat quite tender. Among my colleagues the Bak Khat Te was q good and the curry was well-spiced.

跟同事去食lunch,黎到新開的怡寶!我覺得這是一間茶餐廳式的馬拉餐廳。套餐大約係五十至七十不等!我這個不是餐,飲品跟面是分開點,埋單八十有找!點了檸檬薏米水一片檸檬帶了點鮮味!跟fresh的感覺。夏天飲上薏米水既清熱又解渴!而且薏米水用料也足呢!大蝦喇沙!辣味剛剛好!如果好辣的人,可能會嫌不夠吧?但椰香味也足!大蝦肉也夠爽,不錯!

串燒 * 3 – it surprise me as $10 each, but well we may just give it a try. The peanuts sauce are put on the串燒, not giving you as a dip, the peanuts sauce is quite thick, even though the taste of the 串燒 is good but look at the size of it, it is overpriced.

客家 noodles – first time I have this noodles, the taste is quite special, the sauce on top has mushroom pieces, fried little prawn..

Lemon and barley drink – nice one. Barley is soft enough to chew.

Hak-ga style noodles
I found the noodles quite chewy and not soft at all, but overall it tasted quite nice. Although the noodles had a strong taste, the soup that came with it tasted saltier than the noodles.
The sauce was really refreshing and it tastes like the chili sauce in some thai restaurants.

The Ipoh Hor Fun came piping hot and looked quite delicious, but was a little disappointing taste wise.

The soup did not have the sweet taste of prawn that one would have expected from its color. There was a thick layer of oil floating atop the soup that I was ultimately forced to skim - there turned out to be almost half a rice bowl of oil in the soup.

Digging from the bottom of the bowl of hor fun, there were grey-colored prawn shells with heads and legs that appeared to have been put in to flavor the soup. These should have been removed before serving, as they made the noodle look unappetizing and tended to get caught between the strips of hor fun which then forced one to spit as they could not be swallowed. Although I am not a big fan of hor fun, the noodle in this dish was smooth and had a little bite (not overly soft), which I did like. The shredded chicken was tender, unlike those found at some other eateries that taste like meat that has been used to brew the soup base. The prawns that were used however, were totally tasteless.
My friend had much better luck with the Malaysian Chicken Curry. The flavor of the curry is quite authentic, although we found it a little salty and would also prefer a little less coconut milk, so that we would not feel surfeit after. Thankfully, paired with rice, the saltiness was bearable. There were 3 big pieces of chicken with potato in the serving of curry - quite a generous portion. The chicken was tender and appeared to have been simmered in the curry, as it had absorbed the curry flavor.

I tried both beverages and will pass on the teh taik next time. The tea had an astringent aftertaste, in spite of the milk.

I liked the white coffee as the aroma was strong and there was no sour aftertaste. Be forewarned though that it can be a little sweet, so a request for a reduced-sweetened version may be necessary for some.

I intend to return to the eatery to try other dishes such as bak kut teh (肉骨茶). The table next to ours ordered it and the aroma was delectable. The Hainanese chicken rice (馬來西亞海南雞飯) also looked like it was worth a try.

聽到侍應推介客人$10串,串燒,說是自己寸不是交貨的,一串也賣,本來也有點心郁郁,但趕著回去上班,就沒有點,還是下次再來吧!

埋單時領班問食物"啱唔啱食",我就老實答味道不錯,可惜飯的份量有點少.
領班應對反應極快,說下次即管開口,可以幫我添些飯,說是不想造成浪費云云.

有時客人的少許意見,得到店方積極回應,就是"儲熟客"的重要來源.
還會再來,希望店方愈做愈好吧!
