Dinner Special - Pan Fried Foie Gra
牆壁黑板上的Dinner Special,看來比平常menu的特別。鵝肝多士- 長形的鵝肝,煎得香口,油脂味香,質感軟滑,脂肪比例適中,不會太過油膩。特別的配上無花果,帶淡淡的甜味,中和鵝肝的油感。但底層多士不夠脆身,稍為過硬。

Dinner Special 的慢煮和牛頰肉,對筆者而言頗為辣鮮。慢煮的關係,牛頰肉肉質十分軟腍,咬下去是軟軟的;同時亦煮得非常入味,很香的牛味,配上濃淡得宜的帶甜醬汁,不會奪去牛本身的味道。

係網上見到好似唔錯,同埋本身中意食越南野,所以就想去試。因為間野係凹左入去,所以唔係一時間就搵到,但可能因為咁,唔多人同都幾舒服。其實個地方係比人飲野傾計多d,我叫嗌左個鮮椰汁,好好飲好甜,入面椰肉好香。野食方面叫左個札肉、豬頸肉沙拉同埋黑椒牛利芯配飯。札肉係正常既,辣辣地幾野味。豬頸肉沙拉開頭食覺得唔錯但係愈食愈咸,查實就有d太咸⋯但豬頸肉佢整得好好食最後個飯就失息d喇,牛係好林既,但係成件事勁似係茶餐廳味道overall ok既,係偏貴囉(飯要$128)

I walked in last night for the 1st time and let a young lady knows I didn't have reservation. She walked further into the shop, seemed to be speaking with an older lady to confirm. To my surprise, the young lady went on to serve tables. 2 minutes into my waiting, another young man asked me if he can assist me. I again explained I would like a table for 2 with no reservation. He walked further into the shop again speaking to the same older lady then shockingly went on doing whatever he was doing.

To my surprise, the young lady went on to serve tables. 2 minutes into my waiting, another young man asked me if he can assist me. I again explained I would like a table for 2 with no reservation.

He walked further into the shop again speaking to the same older lady then shockingly went on doing whatever he was doing.

On the 5th minute eventually, this older lady, seemed rather unwillingly walked from the back of the shop , and said " All Tables Are Reserved!"

This is my 5 minutes spent standing in the front of this tiny restaurant. Wow, what an experience!

整體來說,這間越南餐廳味道很好,氣氛浪漫也很有情調,燈光比較暗。地點也很方便,環境不是很大,但也有房間可以有私人空間。

The restaurant is really cozy with bar tables and a bit of outdoor sitting area for customers to enjoy some casual drinks, while a private section of the restaurant would also be available for a group of customers to dine with a little bit more privacy.

The soup has a light brown colour and it has a light herby taste. When comparing to the authentic style, the herb taste can be strong and the soup can be hotter so as to lightly cook the raw beef, so that the beef slices would not remained raw.

After a quick bite of its original taste, I have decided to squeeze in some fresh lime juice as well as putting in some chili, just to give it a little bit more complexity and excitement. 

Overall, it's still a good bowl of Pho for the price and it would be even better if the soup is hotter.

Seaweed garlic spiced tofu fries $68

Then our fries came. Not just any other kind of normal fries, but it's tofu fries! We were kind curious how it would be like so we ordered this. In short, the texture is almost exactly the same as the Hong Kong style "Stinky Tofu" , maybe slightly crunchier because it has a bigger surface area.

The long steel cut tofu fries feels healthy because it's light, airy and dry without being too oily nor overly salted like any other fast food chain style fries. The surprisingly light taste from the tofu is again surprisingly good with the freshly squeezed lime juice on the side. I wonder if I can try to add lime juicy onto my stinky tofu next time when I am roaming around MK?

Tender black pepper ox tongue rice  $128

To me, good food always come from good memory instead of its taste itself. I had this same dish almost a year ago and I remember I used to be amazed by the tenderness from the ox tongue as well as the flavourful sauce that would help you finishing all the rice.

As the second time having this dish, I do find it different. Is it because I had too much expectation or did they change the recipe? Though the ox tongue is just as succulent, the sauce is not as flavourful and I am kind of hoping to see hotter rice with hotter sauce. I hope our 1 minute photo taking session is not going to affect the texture and taste of the dish?

The ox tongue is really thick cut and has a good balance between meat and fat. Some part of the fattier part would literally melt in your mouth just after a few chews. I truly believe that this dish can go back to its original standard if the restaurant can maintain the temperature of this dish, as we as the mixed flavours of the sauce.

Oxtail basil pot in rich sauce with bread tip $198

Lastly, we have also ordered another beef base dish which is an oxtail being cooked to perfection, then served smoking hot with sliced up and toasted Italian bread. After a small disappointment with the previous dish, the restaurant nailed this dish with just right aroma, and at least it is served hot!

Giant pieces of ox tail can be found in the pot and they have all been braised until it is almost falling off the bone. I believe it has been cooked for long hours to make that marination infused into the meat.

You may either choose to dip the bread into the sauce, or you may scrape off those ox tongue meat and eat it on the bread just like an open face sandwich. Shallots are used to provide sweetness to the pot. Vietnam has a strong French influence due to its history, so some fusion dishes can also be found on the menu.

All in all, it's a valuable Vietnamese restaurant with a small menu. They have all kind of traditional Vietnamese signature dishes and we are eager to come back again for their Banh Mi because we have heard that they are pretty good! If you are in Wan Chai looking for Viet food, La Bo La is not a bad choice as causal wine and dine spot for both young generation or mature groups.

今日是朋友的生日,她選擇了食越南的食品。在灣仔其實都有數間越南菜,因常常見前某高官讚賞這間的牛肉河。便去試一試。午餐時間去,高朋滿座,餐廳原來只有set lunch不可散叫,套餐有火車頭套餐,有湯河,小食和飲料1杯!我就叫左咖哩雞反,朋友叫番茄蟹和🦐湯河加🦐多士。朋友話,牛肉河粉的湯唔夠熱,也沒有牛味。至於蝦多士就普通。另外,番茄湯河也麻麻。我食的咖喱雞尚可午間上菜時間超慢。不值一試,短期不會再去!

其實香港有不少越南菜餐廳,但呢間令我印象深刻!👍🏻

首先係必試越式生牛肉湯河🍲,湯底香濃,而且沒有蓋過牛肉的鮮味,重點是相當夠熱!我還試了蝦🍤多士,非常香脆,而且蝦的份量很多,所以不會有太油膩的感覺。

另外,越式法包🥖亦出奇地好味。還有點了羊架,雖然没什麼特別,但我很欣賞羊架的醬汁,不會有羊的'蘇味'。

飲品方面,除了有我至愛的椰青,還有cocktail的選擇。成為了放工後,happy hour 歇一歇的好去處!🍹🍸

總括來說,整體環境舒適,食物水準高。員工服務態度認真,對餐廳食物熟悉(本人非常討厭,十問九唔知的員工,問佢,佢要再問人,幾分鐘之後先再覆你😪)

看到這裏有banh mi提供想都沒想便立刻點了一份。

幸好質素也沒有令我們失望,雖然内裏的材料不算豐富,

不過麵包的確烘得十分香脆,裏面又夾著香濃鹹香的豬肝醬,酸菜和帶點爽脆的扎肉。

整體味道還是十分豐富。而且我們一行4人,餐廳剛好把它分成4份,十分方便。

包著各種蔬菜香料牛油果的米紙卷,外面圍著一隻海蝦。

海蝦口感彈牙,不過鮮甜味道不覺突出,而且因爲是貼著外面的緣故,感覺有點可有可無。

不過包著各樣蔬菜的米紙卷味道卻不俗,米紙很煙靭,裏面的蔬菜和牛油果讓人感覺清新,加了沙律醬後味道更有所提升。

還點了一份單骨蒜蓉牛油雞翼,十分推薦給大家。

沒想到這份雞翼竟會如此出色。

炸得香脆但卻不覺油膩感,而且炸到外脆内嫩,還能保持肉汁。

牛油和蒜蓉的味道同樣突出,而且相輔相成,配合得天衣無縫。

大家也都吃不停口。如果不是開始有點飽了,應該還會多點一份呢。

來吃越南菜另一樣不能錯過的還有牛肉pho。

這碗是堪稱米芝蓮推薦的迷你生牛肉湯河。

抱著很大期望去吃,幸好也能達到期望中的水準。

湯底鮮甜無比,加了檸檬汁和辣椒後,更豐富了味道的層次感。

生牛肉的份量也不算少,能夠吃到牛味,河粉也很滑溜。

最後還點了這個黑椒牛利心飯。

賣相看似普通,但卻充滿驚喜。

有5塊甚具厚度的牛利擺在白飯上,口感實在非常爽脆彈牙。

配上黑椒汁一起吃十分滋味,值得一贊的是黑椒汁不會過咸,而且整體也很惹味。

我們4個人也對這餐很滿意,環境又舒適,服務態度又好,

而且重點是食物質素又高,價錢在利東街這個地段來説算是很經濟了。
