Service ,變差了,可能人手短缺

牛肋排在油脂和肉味的平衡極佳,牛肉汁雖然濃郁但沒有蓋過牛肋排本身的肉味;雖然牛肋排不是新鮮燒好,但難得保持良好的濕潤度和柔軟的肉質,絕對不像自助餐吃到的乾柴和死實;雖然沒有高級牛扒深邃的層次和回味的脂香,但味道極之Consistent,永遠都不會令人失望。

十年前開始幫襯,由銅鑼灣搬去金鐘再搬去中環,一路都好欣賞食物質素,可惜近月以來,一次又一次讓人失望,失望嘅係打電話去訂位嘅時候,接電話嘅服務員只能用英語溝通,即使同佢用廣東話講幾耐都好,佢堅持唔搵識廣東話嘅同事幫手,語氣好差,最後當然訂唔到位啦!都溝通唔到!既然打電話訂位一定要識英文,咁即係唔歡迎唔識英文嘅老人家打電話訂位啦!我屋企人打去訂位,發現溝通唔到,唯有搵我再打電話訂,咁我打去用英文訂咗位,諗住費事投訴搞到佢俾人鬧,就算數啦⋯⋯點知屋企人隔咗幾個星期再想去食,屋企人又一次打電話去訂位,竟然又係嗰位唔識廣東話嘅服務員接聽,唉,唔開心嘅事又再一次發現,老人家唔識英文想去食牛扒原來係咁不受歡迎以後都唔會再去喇,差不多價錢嘅餐廳仲有好多選擇,等佢哋有興趣招呼講廣東話嘅客人嘅時候先再考慮喇

跟平日午餐不同,周末semi-buffet brunch不設升級龍蝦湯。唉.......但來到Lawry’s又能錯過龍蝦湯呢?一行五人各加了一客龍蝦湯,buffet的minestrone 今次就bye bye了。煎香過的大塊龍蝦肉在濃湯中游泳,朋友們都很欣賞我這推介——大成功!頭盤可任意取,除芝士、醬汁外,大部份食物都有蓋保鮮。我最愛吃冷中蝦,也有煙三文魚、火腿、沙律菜等選擇。意外地發現甜品桌有鮮果忌廉蛋糕切餅啊!酒店餐廳多做mouse或cheese cake,要找好吃鬆軟的海綿蛋糕還挺困難,甜品成了今次用餐的驚喜位。至於主菜還是選了prime rib,medium rare,如常的好。👍

頭盤可任意取,除芝士、醬汁外,大部份食物都有蓋保鮮。我最愛吃冷中蝦,也有煙三文魚、火腿、沙律菜等選擇。意外地發現甜品桌有鮮果忌廉蛋糕切餅啊!酒店餐廳多做mouse或cheese cake,要找好吃鬆軟的海綿蛋糕還挺困難,甜品成了今次用餐的驚喜位。

至於主菜還是選了prime rib,medium rare,如常的好。👍

早了到達,門外已經見有人龍,因尚未到營業時間,可見頗受歡迎...

稍後安排入座,招呼好,環境Grand,不過,座無虛席,比較喧嘩嘈雜....

當然,點選最受歡迎的燒牛肉套餐,前菜自助沙律吧,位置稍為逼夾,有點人迫人的感覺,沙律吧選擇不多,只有三文魚冷盤,生菜,羅馬生菜,火箭菜, 雜凍肉,熱湯 - 周打魚湯,味道尚算不算錯!甜品 - cup cake 及切餅及生果盤,源源不絕供應....

伴楪的薯蓉,粟米,菠菜,樣樣非常好味,再加上Yorkshire pudding ,熱辣辣鬆軟,伴點牛肉汁,好味到停唔到口...

If you're craving good prime rib but don't really care about the other parts of your dining experience, then Lawry's is a good place to go.There are a few places in Hong Kong that serve and hit the marks with their lobster bisque, and I believe that Lawry's can be counted as one of those places. While a bit salty for my taste, the lobster meat was scrumptious and enhanced the flavor of the bisque. If you're craving good prime rib but don't really care about the other parts of your dining experience, then Lawry's is a good place to go.

There are a few places in Hong Kong that serve and hit the marks with their lobster bisque, and I believe that Lawry's can be counted as one of those places. While a bit salty for my taste, the lobster meat was scrumptious and enhanced the flavor of the bisque. A good opening to the meal. 

However, the Famous Original Spinning Bowl Salad was mediocre at best: while the salad was fresh, and the croutons appetizing, the sauce was a touch to citrusy and there was nothing special about what they call their signature appetizer. 

Living up to the Lawry's The Prime Rib name, the prime rib (california cut) was the highlight of the meal. The meat was tender and juicy, and went well with the gravy, buttery and soft mashed potatoes, and yorkshire pudding (not pictured). 

For dessert I had the creme brulee topped with fresh fruits. Nothing special about it either, and it could use more vanilla beans and less eggs. 

You can tell a lot about a person by going to their bathroom, and the same goes for restaurants. For me, a dirty bathroom means that the rest of the restaurant including the kitchen is suspect. I was quite disappointed to find the bathroom rather unsanitary and in need of regular cleaning, not as bad as the bathrooms you find at your local 茶餐廳, but definitely not the bathroom you'd see at an upscale dining establishment.

With the state of the bathroom, I wasn't surprised to find stains on the base tablecloth. The top tablecloth was fine however, so I'm not sure if the wait staff were too lazy/busy to change the bottom one or didn't notice the stain at all. Either way, it reflects poorly on Lawrys. 

All in all, I think your money would be better spent elsewhere. While the decor and price tag reflects Lawry's desire to be an upscale dining establishment, the service (which was average), sanitation levels and little details during your dining experience belies its just not quite there yet.

The weekend semi-buffet brunch is at 298HKD up (+10%).

Since they moved to a new place, this is my first time to come and it took me some time to find the entrance. What I like this place the most is the attentive staff service and clean environment. I could enjoy my weekend peacefully here without a rush!

其實我一向都唔鍾意食Prime rib ,直至到我黎過呢間餐廳,先至真真正正愛上左呢一度嘅燒牛肉,佢並唔係煎或者炭燒,而係好有肉味,好嫩滑,好多汁嘅燒牛肉
廚師會推架銀色餐車喺你旁邊幫你切牛肉,師傅技術到家,切嘅牛肉份量好準確,生熟程度亦都做得好好。

And here comes the main: Roasted Prime Rib of Beef au jus - California Cut served with mashed potatoes and Yorkshire Pudding. I opted for medium rare for my steak, and it was superb! I always love mashed potatoes, this creamy one with gravy definitely got my heart. The portion of Yorkshire pudding was huge, even though the two of us were sharing, we only managed to finished half of it. I got some cream spinach, but I rarely touched them as they were not as creamy as I expected and I was quite full at this point. Worst of all, I didn't know it's an extra HKD$55 for it... Definitely felt like a waste of food and money when I saw the bill...

話說我係一個好中意食prime rib嘅人,不過好多時食prime rib都係自肋餐,而且越黎越少prime rib食。而呢間Prime Rib就真係經典黎,不過搬左去呢間新鋪都有新野食,例如午市沙律吧。老老實實,佢個沙律吧真係一般野,當然唔會係差野,但就無乜特別。至於午市加錢就任飲汽酒,飲左好多杯,之後返左屋企訓。講返個prime rib,真係好好食,好有牛肉味,而且牛肉好滑,外面果啲肉都唔會醃得太鹹。至於牛汁方面,都好濃,但唔會破壞牛肉味。而個布甸就好脆口,點牛汁就最正。環境方面就好乾淨好整齊,服務一流。

友人生日,包了Lawry’s 的一個房間 (房間外面的環境和氣氛很不錯,樓底很高很漂亮),房間坐了10 多人,我們有些叫了套餐,有些散點,份量很大,大家點餐時要注意啊!我點了這裡最出名的龍蝦湯,湯底濃郁美味之餘,還有一大塊拆了肉的新鮮龍蝦肉呢!海鮮拼盤非常鮮美,可惜今天沒有我至愛的生蠔,以南貝頂上了。千島醬沙律也是這裡的名菜,果然非常新鮮,有點說不出的特別!釀蟹蓋非常出色!而自選部位燒牛排是很英式,肉肉的那種,有其風味,但個人比較喜歡日韓式的入口即溶牛肉。梳乎厘很大的一個,很有80 年代牛排屋的甜點風味,做得很好!

由金鐘跟到嚟中環,放工之後同老公過嚟撐枱腳。搬咗新地方之後雖然環境細咗少少,但係服務態度好咗好多,味道又無變。叫套餐都好抵食,無論中午定晚上都好,都食到我哋兩個抱住個肚返屋企。呢間餐廳高級得來有少少大地,平日或慶祝過嚟食都食得好開心!
