Laduree X Mandarin Mo Bar Yes . Right . No illusion . It's high tea time again . Again and again!This is a vicious circle . Let me tell you the fact , while all females in the world are complaining having high tea or desserts will gain weights or getting fat , their mouths still non stop eating on desserts and craving for high tea as much as they could . Then after the high tea , they may said" let's keep fit "for a day ,and after that particular day , it straight back to high tea . This is ever
Bottom level- Scones Even though it is not that delicate or adorable as Sevva 's one, Mo Bar high tea still got it potential to stands it ground . Let start my description from the bottom layers . Bottom layers come to the core high tea member - scones . It's better that they served mini one so we won't get stuffed easily . Mini scones are in two flavors , plain and with raisins. Both looks lovely with a golden coat . Although they didn't offer Mandarin 's signature rose petal jam in Mo bar , the scones' standard are yet impressive . Scones itself is airy , baked in a perfect timing to create a flaky layer but a soft buttery content . The yeast is impeccable so it won't be glutinous or stick between your teeth . Crispy exterior with moist interior definitely can moves you. Scones with raisins are more refreshing , particularly match well with the cotton cream . This is likable . Strawberry jam and orange jam obviously are not homemade one , over sweet , however the fruity hints are still strong with pulps ,I am here to suggest all of you to enjoy this gourmet with a small spoonful jam dazzling ,this match is the best to enhance the taste and satisfy your mouthfuls max .
Medium level- Salty savories Medium level come to salty savories . Overall performance is about average . So let's begin from the right hand side . Smoked Salmon Roll with Crab, Carrots, & Celery are colorful and look decent. However , the layers are a bit plain and ordinary . It's underwhelming as it tasted a bit dry and insipid . I can't really tastes any celery , carrots , either crab hint in my memories . Although the texture can't go wrong , the whole thing taste empty . It would be better if they can top more salmon to enrich the flavors .
Next come to Beetroot Foie Gras Macaron . This is very interesting and playful. I enjoy this savory in one mouthfuls . Macaron is more like like egg white crust . The foundation is extra flaky and it will melt swiftly on your tongue while the beetroot hint still lingering on your palate . Foie gras mousse is rich in flavors and dense enough, yet won't cover the beetroot hint . Both of them complement each other fabulously and successfully stimulate your taste buds . I specially enjoy this unique savory.
The middle one is Air-baguette Wrapped with Bayonne Ham & Camembert Mousse. Baguette actual is just the shape , it is extra thin and empty inside that simply fill up with Camembert cheese cream . The texture is greatly crispy and tastes delicious . The whole thing is very light , it would be better just if the content can be more fruitful and the Bayonne Ham can top more on the baguette . This snack looks empty and lonely.
Next we tried Duck Rillettes with Mushroom & Mandarin next . This tastes awful . It is like a baked bun with a filling content . I can't even taste any duck rillettes filling , but all I can feel is heavy and tasteless . This is more like a plain bun, texture is really dry and bland though. Although the content seems plentiful and plump . It is overwhelming .
The last one come to Quiche Lorraine with Smoked Bacon and Gruyere Cheese . This is glamorous with a passionate heart and character . Flower petal sprinkled on to dazzle the presentation , look more colorful. I think this is probably the best of the savories. The quiche lorraine is buttery and crumbly but not filling or heavy . The texture is flaky and crunchy , very arousing . Bacon and cheese is briny tasty , successfully evaluated the taste to be more palatable with distinctive layers . This is recommended in both taste and texture .
Upper level - Sweet delights Here comes my favorite ! The upper layer is full of surprises . Start from the left hand side is Baba Rum Agricole. This look adorable on a spoon decoration . Tiny cake is soaked under rum , the alcoholic hint was not really strong but still give out a sprinkles . Although it maybe a bit soggy , but the style make sense and it is acceptable with great tastes. This is about average .
When it talks about Laduree , their rose flavor is a must to have a try , this signature were also included in the high tea set . Ladurée sweets are not just pleasure, but a philosophy, a nice way to approach our times with nobility. The macarons were needless to say , texture is impeccable with a chewy content , crispy outside , but flaky soft inside , it smells heavenly good , the tastes are excellently sweet with natural rose petal hint . Absolute heaven . This is above average.
Middle one is Pistachio & Raspberry Eclair . The white chocolate piece on top was almond-flavored , somehow , I think this is useless to add on top . The white chocolate is sweet and artificial, it can't help to improve the performance at all ,but even worse . The sweetness of the chocolate is offset by the raspberries , but the raspberries are not that fresh and fruity. The pistachio cream looks likable but isn't strong enough . The main point is I didn't feel the flavors working together at all . This is a waste with such graceful outlook .
Then went back to another macaron - Chocolate Platinum. This macaron is a limited edition flavor for the high tea set .Delicacies to be offered or to offer due to Laduree innovation and creativity. This platinum layer is eye- catching and enchanting . Bling bling layers are superlative . But the macaroon shells are filled with a citrus-flavored filling tastes unpleasant . Even though I appreciate the outlook and such daring combination . However , the chocolate filling is not strong even to stand out and the mandarin hint is a bit artificial . It seems that they don't match well , generally tastes odd and wired . But the texture yet up to standard .
Lastly come to Chocolate & Peanut Tart. This is the best . The pastry is a very impressive chocolate temptation . Look grand with macadamia nut . The macadamia nut on top gave out a nutty hint . Chocolate is dense and rich , not too sweet but blend harmoniously with the peanut paste . The whole filling is rich in favor , both tastes and texture certainly moves me . The richness is thick , but still maintain its mellowness and bitterness. This delicacies are exactly my cup of tea since I am a chocoholic ! I won't mind having more for this . This is highly recommended . The entire high tea experience is delightful and extremely relaxed . Due to the tiny components , the high tea portion is much more light than I thought . Hence , I still got a room for the welcome snacks ! Haha , this is the main point to tell you about this ! Mo bar welcome snack is a self - service one , dinners can go to the bar where offers a wide selections of cake . You can grab how many as you could . For us , we picked all 6 flavors for sharing and we finished it all at the end. The cake is very buttery and favorable , while it's not to sweet . 6 flavors include green tea , carrot with pie nuts , chocolate marble , chocolate with pistachio , banana with cream and lastly lemon . Lemon is a bit over sour and tastes odd , carrot and pie nuts is healthy with chewy mouthfuls , but a bit soggy . Chocolate with pistachio is unique with such excellent combination , both hints matched harmoniously ,banana with cream is a big refreshment .Highly recommended the chocolate marbled and green tea flavors . Both are strong in flavor , chocolate is rich while green tea is mellow .
Tea- Earl grey I picked my soul mates - Earl grey as usual. However , this is a big disappointment , especially Earl grey is always my favorite and only choice . The tea wasn't that mellow but bitter, even I didn't soak the tea - leaves for long when the staff refill for me . The tea standard is not outstanding or even just at the range of normal tea bags . The layers are monotonous with indifferent touches. The entire high tea experience will be more intact if the tea quality can be improve .
Black current toxic Gilda 's sweetest mum order cold drinks as usual. Here to tell u , she actually enjoy chilling .... She love the black current toxic . She indicated is very refreshing while not too sweet , icy with fruity sensation . Best pick in summer or any hot days . Mo bar is a chic and modern lounge that certainly a spot for youngster or causal talk. Evening sees the atmosphere change as MO Bar turns into a sophisticated nightspot with cocktails and dining. To add to the vibe, DJs spin sounds from Wednesday to Saturday. They also host live music and invitation-only concerts. Service overall is easygoing and attentive , I specially like the aunt who give a clear elaboration and asked us whether need to take a group photo . How friendly she is .
