要係香港找一間食地道福建菜土荀凍的確有點困難,除了知道土瓜灣有一間有得食之外.我唸只有這間閩南小食館先有得食土荀凍 . 對上之前食土荀凍已是2個月前了,是朋友從福建帶回來的. 那時候看見一舊膠凍狀裏面包着一條條沙蟲並可清晰見到, 的確有點恐怖. 但當我試了第一舊,已經忍不住口再食第二件. 食落去凍凍地和d沙好爽口,很有鮮味. 今日去了北角, 突然好想食番土荀凍,就去了閩南小食館order了4只.一條條沙蟲可清晰見到, 食落去味道很鮮, 沙虫質感爽口,不錯.這個牛尾湯非常好飲,有好濃的牛味,一點蘇味也沒有.值得一試

呢個味菜蠔仔羹真係超有閩南風味! 但就絕對唔係我地杯茶… 以為佢會好似碗仔翅咁有d有味獻湯, 但原來係一個圾蠔仔嘅獻… 味道極之腥! 面頭有好多蔥, 但就唔多見有味菜, 就算有都無乜味. 蠔仔都有肉咬下, 但真係太腥, 我地食唔慣真係頂唔順… 被迫放棄!

食到無耐間舖忽然坐滿晒一大班福建人, 店員同鄉里頃刻將呢間原本簡陋樸素嘅小店搖身一變成為咗一間閩南同鄉會! 同鄉們除左以流利閩南話高談闊論食煙同隊大啤之外, 仲要喺度玩骰盅!! 成個場仿如一間光猛嘅酒吧一樣… 而基本上你唔係同鄉係完全融入唔到個環境嘅… 同埋店員都唔會好理你. 建議你都係學下閩南話扮下鄉里, 習慣埋佢地嘅閩南風味先再嚟入會啦!

好,食喇.

好夠凍,沙虫有啲煙韌,食得出有一啲啲腥味,應該係蛋白質o既腥味,而o個啲汁係醋o黎,唔蘸都冇乜所謂.

而o衣o家睇到人o地o既食評,原來土筍凍會有蘿蔔絲跟埋,但呢個外賣係冇.


呢間o野咁o既態度,食物幾好食都好,我o地都唔會再o黎囉.

其實服務只值0.1分咋.

I wanted to try, but I just couldn’t, so in the end I ordered the chicken rolls and the noodles in sauce.

Chicken roll:
This is similar to the rolls in Chiu Chow cuisine, fried beancurd rolls with meat inside, the taste was nice, especially the dipping sauce, but there was lots of white fat in it.

Noodles in Sauce:
To me, this was exactly like canned spaghetti, lots of sauce and overly soft noodles.
However the sauce was much better than the tomato sauce you get in canned spaghetti, it contained oysters, vegetables and fatty meat.
The sauce was slightly peppery and creamy.

今天去了北角吃閩南小食館,這是一種很小眾的菜式;即使福建人是其中比較多的一族,但福建菜在香港並不流行。吃了如下:土筍凍(1碟2件)其實正確是蟲蟲Jelly,吃起來沒甚麼味道靠的只是醬汁,和配的酸甜蘿蔔五香雞卷(1碟約5件)因為我舅母是福建人,老早吃過,包的材料不太清楚,只知會下很重的五香粉和肥肉用腐皮包著炸之,吃起來香口肥潤福建滷麵份量很足,的確像是一早煮好,有蠔仔又有蛋,吃起來帶著咖哩味,不喜歡吃糊一點麵條,就不建議了。炒米線原本想吃炒冬粉,但原來是粉絲,改為吃炒米線,其實即是阿宗麵線的乾身版,有啤水蝦仔,蠔仔,蛋塊,甘筍絲,腩肉絲,材料很足,份量約一人,吃起來很好吃,米線彈牙,味道也好。埋單$93這店口味應該算正宗,店裡都是福建人,服務質素是一般街坊小店,價錢低廉,好處是比同區另一福建店開得夜。但店內有人吸煙,怕煙味的就要注意了。

今天去了北角吃閩南小食館,

唔想再食北角d茶餐廳啦!今次就試下小福建呢間閩南小食館啦!我地叫左一個鹵麵同一個老坑米。個老坑米d牛腩都幾有牛肉味,可惜都係有d渣,個湯好清可以一飲。至於個鹵麵個汁好濃,又有菜同蚵仔,幾特別,好有福建風味。個menu度仲有好多特別野,好似肉水,土筍凍咁,我都好想試,但諗到d蟲蟲咁大條又有d驚,如果一碟唔係有成兩件都會試下。佢d啤酒都係十蚊支,都幾平,叫d小食來送酒都唔錯,下次可能會再試佢其他野。但可惜係佢太多同鄉係間野度食煙,搞到好大陣煙味,我想睇埋正印出頭天先走都唔得。

最近非常懷念那間食店的福建菜,
於是上 Openrice 網 search,
終於俾我搵到北角有間叫"閩南小食館",
那裡除了有我之前食過好好味的福建菜式,
仲有好多好特別菜式我是從未食過呢!

雖然裝修格局似茶餐廳,
但食品很有水準,
價錢更是平民價,
真係令我回味無窮,
好好味啊!! ^^

如果大家有機會到北角,
也一定要試試啊!

I already went twice this year and foresee needing to go again before the end of this year
I already know this style of food isn't always what I personally enjoy, though there're exceptions! Some food can be great!
I usually go more to the 閩東 area such as 福州, 福青市, 长乐市, etc and they speak a different language to 閩南, but I also visit down south at 廈門 and 惠安县, origin of Fujian's no.1 惠泉啤酒! Note that both places have slightly different food but there's better seafood up East North, as they're the biggest seafood farmers in China! ANYWAY, AS SOON AS I OPENED THE DOOR, THE SMELL INSIDE WAS COMPLETELY LIKE THOSE IN FUJIAN FOOD SHOPS - THIS HAD TO BE AUTHENTIC! Don't ask me to describe what it smells like, but its a very unique smell and mainly from the sauce and alcohol they use on most dishes.... its like how Japanese Ramen shops or the MTR or Primary Schools have a peculiar smell that you can identify instantly!

閩南鹵麵 - This like a lot of Fujian dishes had small Oysters within, 黃芽白, Spring Onions, Mushrooms, etc. But the highlight of this dish (or should I say the lowlight?) is the thick and gooey sauce which contributes partially to that shop's smell - it covers a lot of older style dishes. The egg noodles are really soft unlike Cantonese noodles!
閩南炒芋丸 - This had really doughy and chewy pieces of Taro strips which were pre-steamed and sliced from a bigger block - in fact they're the origins of Japanese Konnyaku in my opinion! If you treasure any Taro taste, don't bother with this! Came with a similar 'gingery' thick gooey sauce as above and Oysters again, plus Chili, etc!

Saw the signages and proceeded to order my 惠泉啤酒 with my food to get the full authentic experience but they had none - how 掃興!! However they carry the extra small Beer Glasses here lol
- which is quite Fujian like, its also the same size used in Japanese Izakaya's and in Taiwan everywhere! Isn't it weird these 3 places, aligned on the same place and in such close proximity, all have this strange habit!?

Since it was late on a weeknight that time, I didn't order the 土荀凍 - I've tried that before and its nothing as disgusting as compared to this Casu Marcu Italian Pecorino with Maggots still alive, that are known to jump 15cm into your face occasionally! They didn't taste like anything I've ever had, chewy but not like jellyfish chewy. More like, edible elastics. The truth came out, that it was 沙蟲, but I didn't flinch into puking up. I made an "oh"...and it did taste different, I thought, but the awful truth didn't stop me from ingesting those little worms. It was a revelation.

The next step would be to overcome my fear in the nearest location possible -- having seen albums after albums and heard raves over how 'tasty' the jellied treat really was, I arrived looking into this small joint. It wasn't all that bright to begin with, but when I asked whether my target would be available, the lady nodded asking, "how many would you like". I scanned the menu. For $12 I can get two pieces, and two it is.

It arrived in a flash -- bathing in a shallow bath of soy sauce were two half-domed of worms suspended in aspic. The top glistened against the lights, I carefully picked up a piece with my chopsticks (with spoon supporting) Taking a bite, I realized, that it was slippery and wet, with remembrance of 'jellied veal'. The 'worms' were slightly chewier than I anticipated, but that extra protein tasted rather light and that for fact was a surprise on its own. The jellied aspic took on too much of the soy sauce, perhaps next time I would skip the soy sauce to begin with? Soon enough I found myself slurping for the next one. In similar motions it took me three bites to savour the treat.

When I stepped out of the restaurant after tasting the 'nightmarish impossible', I have the strangest feeling in my gut. I wondered, "Is that it? Is that the fearful item I've been avoiding all this time?" My inner voice told me that's exactly it. It wasn't all that scary, if you can look past the worm part. You'll think it's not easy, but when you eat it, you'll know it's just another of many 'Chinese special treats'. (That should make you feel better).

7年前我O係鄉下試過土荀凍之後就對佢念念不忘
之後一路都冇再番過鄉下
上年上開OPENRICE知道左北角有得食
可惜果陣做完手術
好多野都唔食得
今年過年前去閩南小食館
點知佢話要過年後先有WOR
咁就好失望啦

今日終於比我食到土荀凍啦~~~

間野都幾好
可以打包,我一路以為得堂食

其實大家真係唔好因為佢係沙蟲而唔食
就會錯失左一個食好野既機會

唱歌仔之前的最後一站來到這裡吃福建菜…點了星爺推介的土荀凍…土荀凍其實我之前已經在老好清香見過了…亦看過食友的評語說不錯…雖然我是有點害怕蟲的啦…但是我也敢冒險試一試…除左土荀凍外…我們還叫了炸醋肉和炒芋丸…..土荀凍一上檯…”嘩~”了一聲….這條蟲比我在老好清香看到的大條…大大條白色的都幾嚇人…因為真的看得出是一條條蟲….土荀凍本身沒什麼味道…我要加上大量的醬油才敢吃….口感不是我想的那種…我心想蟲應該很容易咬斷…會像硬布甸的那種口感…不過這種蟲要用點力就能咬得斷…想了又想…最似的口感是百頁結…但是比較靭的…試過就算…我想我不會再試的了~同時~我很佩服同行的護士食友...好像什麼都敢吃似的...幾乎不揀飲擇食...好厲害...炸醋肉炸成金黃色…幾香口…不會太油而且肉質嫰滑…揀選的肉不會太肥太瘦…剛剛好~配上帶點酸酸的醋汁…是風味絕佳的小食呢…炒芋丸…還以為我們叫錯或店員弄錯了…芋丸不是應該是球狀的嗎…這裡的芋丸是一片片的~口感像年糕…裡面有一條條的幼芋頭絲…應該是和蕃薯粉混合再蒸熟而成的…不過芋頭味不重…有食友幾乎吃不到芋頭的味道呢~我想如果打成芋蓉再變成糕可能會更加好~伴炒的還有少

已是第二次來訪此處,但問起太座,她卻說沒有印象來過。通常於她沒有太大回憶的食肆,水準都不會太好....自己卻是對福建菜 (特別是小吃) 印象甚佳,來一個愛吃 --- 土筍凍、五香卷、煎蠔仔餅、炒麵線....通通來者不拒時間太晚了,來不及到同區的真真美食。要吃福建小吃,只好到這兒....上次吃過的土筍凍、五香卷及炒麵線,今次就暫且別過,換來的是豉汁炒蠔仔、蠔仔肉燕麵線及福建炒麵....炒蠔仔調味非常之濃,炒得偏濕,碟底剩下不少湯汁;蠔仔size很細,有些還有點沙在內,不佳。此味的湯汁為伴飯之良品,但是晚主要以麵食為點,故沒有叫白飯。若齋吃的話,感覺卻是有點偏鹹....麵線是很"福建式"的,煮得"爛pat pat"有如湯羹一般。太座吃不慣,邊吃邊搖頭,最後只吃了一半左右便放棄了。小弟倒覺得可以接受,而且蠔仔份量挺多,自製的肉燕餃有鮮味之餘也很有咬口,不算太差la...炒麵倒是很普通,味相對起來比上次吃的麵線淡口。麵是類似福建油麵的東西,以冬菇絲、肉絲、紅蘿蔔絲、椰菜絲,蝦等作料,吃上口只覺跟外頭普通的炒麵一樣。還是吃炒麵線較好....太座吃至扁哂嘴,很擔心她夠不夠飽。自己倒是覺得可以接受.

其中一個客人是福建人,她帶我們去是試地度福建菜,反正在我家的附近,試吓無防.平日都有經過這間店舖,沒有特別的裝修,打正旗號賣閩南菜,都冇唸過入去食嘢.星期四晚上,坐滿男人,相信百分百都是熟客,是關北角聚集非常多老福建街坊或新移民,他們食的菜式也差不多.我的客人點了一碗牛肉羹(牛肉是一塊塊的,湯是淡透明黏黏的,福建人把它當飯食,一碗加一碟土荀凍就是晚餐了,可我覺得口味不適合我).閩南炸雞,甜酸炸黃魚,芋頭炆鴨,味道都可以.而我此終最喜歡都是炒福建麵,是真正福建做法.需然地方比一般茶餐廳更擠迫,但價錢都大分平,一般小食是十幾蚊,主炒是30幾蚊,試問那裡做得咁平.後來我才知土荀凍入面有和蟲都幾驚,算了食了就一點點冇所謂啦.
