Big fan of Chef Que. Still missed his previous restaurant, Quest. This place is not as formal and a bit more cozy. So happy he was not in the kitchen and could find time to talk to us about dishes he is experimenting. Given there were six of us, we ordered a variety of dishes. Dishes we loved:
Tartare w crispy beef tendon - seasoned just right with generous portion.
Spring rolls - absolutely the best - crispy on the outside; moist and tasty inside. Went well with the house vinegar fish sauce. We had two orders (10 pieces).
Banh mi rice taco - the ground beef was moist and went well with the pickles on top. We ordered more cos it was so good.
Roasted cauliflower - packed w flavor
Fried chicken - juicy inside. Extra kick with the siracha ...
Grilled spring chicken - most tender, juicy and tasty (suspect they sous vide the chicken).
All very good, other than the grilled beef striploin and the pork collar. Both were a bit dry ... and I couldn’t really taste the lemongrass in the pork collar. The mochi w crab and tobiko was also so so.
Ambience - cozy 👍
Service - servers were attentive and friendly 👍
Mgmt - manager came across as cold 👎
BYOB - Free corkage and we brought champagne glasses for our 🍾. They only have stemless wine glasses.
