It's always hard to find a good Italian restaurant in Hong Kong I reckon. Finally I happened to find one on Robinson Road though little far from the heart of the city. It was a Sunday night and the whole restaurant was booked up. It's our great pleasure to have the owner Mr. Gianni to order for us. I've been to Italy for several times and were amazed the set up of Pane Vino, the starter all the way through was really authentic. It's truth like what other people commented - we felt like dining in
It was a Sunday night and the whole restaurant was booked up. It's our great pleasure to have the owner Mr. Gianni to order for us. I've been to Italy for several times and were amazed the set up of Pane Vino, the starter all the way through was really authentic. It's truth like what other people commented - we felt like dining in Italy.
The starter was pama ham, mussel, tomato with Mozzarella cheese, feta cheese. The mussel was exceptionally good - small, fresh and very tasty. For Main course, Mr. Gianni organised pasta with green shoots and special sauce. The pasta was well done without oily and Mr. Gianni told us he cooked the pasta in sauce instead of water and that's why the taste of the pasta could be very concentrated. After that, we had veal and baby lamp chops. The portion was quite big but surprisingly we could finish the whole dish as they were really delicious.
There were various choices of dessert. However most of them had been finished when we tried to order. Mr. Gianni brought us later the cream chintilly puff (can't remember exatly the name) though it was really good without too sweet.
They used the brand of Lavazza for the coffee. Honestly I don't like this brand as it's little too light for me.
Since most of the ingredient were flied directly from the south of Italy, the taste of the food were very special. Forgot to mention the Rosa wine and also the Limoncello. Very Italian style!
Overall the dining experiece was beautiful. Price is little high but it's worth every penny.
