The tea took some time to come, from ordering to chasing it up with another waitor who forgot so we had to reorder it again.
You could imagine how damn thirsty I was from the beginning until it arrived!
It was good to see that they were using tea leaves and not tea bags.

Boxing day 太早起身,諗住出黎食個brunch, 點知好多都未開,係咪因為之前嗰日玩得太夜?舖就喺中環扶手電梯斜路側,由扶梯一直上就見到,楂車黎慣呢區都熟路,好容易搵到。今日人唔多,walkin in 有位無問題,自己搵左個窗口位,木門靚但就坐坐下有D凍,不竟都係半山。傳統英式紅黑金色佈置,一貫舊餐廳風格,唔算特別但就坐得舒服。Order 左 whole breakfast and egg benedict, whole english breakfast 好夠食,都係一般既兩片toast 兩條小肉腸,茄汁豆磨菇,egg benedict 整得好好,半熟蛋好大隻好juicy, 而且整得岩岩好,呢個讚 Order cappuccino 但可惜奶好蘇,我自己就唔係太鍾意,咖啡味都一般,呢個有D失望。全程有聖誕柔和音樂, 氣氛唔錯,都算係拍拖好地方。聖誕快樂

是日跟林大狀late night drink. 在soho區遊走,週日晚上十一時多,酒吧選擇不多,隨意地來到the peak café bar. 場內只有三數枱客,裝修帶點中國風,亦有點懷舊,應該是主打老外市場。坐下不久更是last order,有點掃興。隨意地點選了vodka lime, 友人則點了on the rock.酒的水準也okay,  只要帶點酒味又不太濃的話,已交足功課。沒有特別留意drinks的價錢,大概七十多元一杯吧,還算合理。

對於聖誕節,我並非十分重視,大型的Party就可免則免了,這節日我認為應該留給重要的朋友。今年真的很想在平安夜外出吃個聖誕大餐,順便感受熱閙氣氛,儘管很多人都說聖誕大餐又貴又唔好食,但佳節當前,花多少少錢令自己開心,我覺得並不過份。記得小時候在西餐廳吃的聖誕大餐,通常至少有8至10道菜的,或者因為這些童年印象,令我總覺得平安夜是要吃西餐的,所以當我今年揀選聖誕大餐的地方時,我從沒考慮過日本菜或火鍋,而價錢亦是一個重要的決定因素,個人Budget為$500內,最好有4至5道菜,地點最好在中環,這個價錢可選的餐廳原來並不多,茶餐廳除外。得知中環Soho區的Peak Café Bar有4道菜的大餐,價錢每位$428,在預算範圍內,便毫不猶豫地選了這間,也幸好訂到好位。Peak Café Bar我去過幾次,但還是首次在節日時來訪,餐廳掛了聖誕裝飾,店員們又穿上了聖誕老人衣服,很有氣氛的。我們到達時大約晚上8點,人客並不多,當中又大部份是外藉客,去到9點後,人群才漸漸多起來。餐廳贈送的聖誕頭飾,很趣緻。雖說是四道菜,這個餐附送暖紅酒和咖啡/茶,可以說成是六道菜,但沒有計算在內,這餐廳算比較老實。

主菜有兩個選擇,可揀烤鴨或西冷牛扒,我揀前者,「香脆烤鴨伴皺葉甘藍、焗蘋果、金巴利醬配烤鴨汁」,烤鴨煮得脆皮,而肉也不失禮,肉質也鬆軟,吃落也感到豐富的香料味,金巴利醬就偏甜,但不過份,反而雜菜(皺葉甘藍)我認為略微甜了點,有些奶油味,吃落有點漏,而旁邊的焗蘋果就更吸引,醬汁是致勝地方,酸酸甜甜的,很醒胃,我還試了用這汁來拌烤鴨肉來吃,感覺鴨肉更甜美可口。

這個聖誕大餐雖然談不上很大的創意,但勝在質和量都足夠,至少我吃得飽,當然如果多一道主菜會更好,但400多元的價錢包飲品,在節日來說,我認為合理的。今晚的Soho人潮比預期的少,並不太擠擁,洋人很多,吃飽後感覺暖洋洋,希望人人都有一個溫暖的快樂聖誕。

同事們說這裏的蠔來得不錯,正在做推廣,好像是$500左右一打,雖然心知已吃過令人到現在還是回味無窮的Ambrosia供應的法國蠔,要吃出驚喜難免是有難度,但這裏的生蠔是合格的,這裏用上的常見的澳洲蠔,比法國蠔的尺寸來得小,入口微澀,嫌蕃茄醬汁會蓋過蠔本來的鮮味,還是加上一點檸檬汁好了,稍嫌有吃到有一隻蠔中有殘留蠔殼的碎片。

豬頸肉茄子沙律: 這一道是滿是滿有東南亞風情的,加茄子於沙律中還真稀見,總覺得對於吃茄子,要不很喜歡,要不很不喜歡,是因為它那種口感軟軟的關係吧,我是為前者,而茄子跟這一道蔬菜沙律味道很融洽,茄子留有咬口,不會煮得過於熔爛,光吃茄子味道也不會過濃。再說一下豬頸肉吧,豬頸肉是一致讚好的,厚薄適中,滿有肉香,一下子就吃清光了。

香草汁肉眼牛扒: 心血來潮,想要吃牛扒,於是點了一分美國10安士的肉眼牛扒,配香草汁,價錢是$200之內,合理,在薯蓉與薯條之間,同事是薯蓉的愛好者,於是點選了薯蓉,附送了一分健怡的蔬菜沙律。牛扒的表面充滿了香草醬料,碟邊還附了多一分的香草醬料,看似很濃味,但吃下去味道是剛好的,很喜歡其肉質,紋理密集而清晰,十分嫰口,幾乎不用多加嘴嚼,薯蓉的質素是穩當的,假如薯蓉更香滑將會更理想。

香料燒豬肋骨: 回這一道的其中一個原因是剛來的時候看見一分肉排骨賣相精緻,用肉眼一掃餐牌, 最像樣的是這一道香料燒豬肋骨吧,但後來發現原來不是.... 言歸正傳,這是一道一份五件的豬肋骨,配的是涼拌捲心菜沙律,有柚子香和蔬菜絲的。烤的豬肋骨滿有肉汁,是為很一道香口惹味的肉食。

肉腸芝士薄餅: 此餐廳提供的除了提供意大利薄餅外,還有特色的薄餅,如中式烤鴨薄餅,但還是點了大路的肉腸薄餅, 配料是簡單的肉腸,洋蔥,紅椒,火箭菜。薄餅的厚度是少見的,界乎薄批和厚批間的厚度,入口似是微烘過的麵包,圍邊是微脆的,是穩當的一道。

心太軟: 心太軟幾乎是吃西餐必點的吧,既有熱燙燙的流心朱古力,亦有冰凍的雪糕,兩者是強烈的對比,卻是美味的配搭。第一步當然是要証實一下內在是否流心,假如不流心的,已是失敗,倒抽一口氣,幸保不失,雖然沒有湧泉般的流心朱古力,但朱古力漿的分量是滿意的,外層的厚薄合宜,略嫌有點溫度不足。另外,用上的雪糕是莓類的雪糕,而並非最為大路的雲呢拿雪糕。我還是喜歡雲呢拿雪糕作配搭, 帶酸的雪糕反而會與朱古力不太調和

焦糖燉蛋布甸:有別於一般的,此布甸是立時點火的,意指上了布甸後,店員會即場倒上酒,再用打火機點火,布甸上起了點點藍火,這令我想起了多年前於長洲師妹甜品吃的火焰雪山,實有異曲同工之妙。藍火熄滅後,布甸表面留有火燒過的咖啡色痕跡。相信加酒的分量不少,酒味極為濃郁,但表面只是微脆,我還是喜歡用火槍燙過,表面吃得出有一層明顯脆焦糖的燉蛋布甸。

總括而言, 這一次於蘇豪區的晚餐是令人很滿意的,喜歡餐廳的裝潢佈置情調,以酒吧而言,食物質素是值得推薦的,因開了兩瓶酒,平均消費是$430,消費價格相對稍高,但假如不開酒的話, 每人消費者約$280,價錢還算是很合理的。

The great thing about Peak Cafe is that it has such a variety of food choices...brunch, sandwiches, pizzas, mains, pizzas, asian. Have never had a bad dish there.Today we went for a bigger lunch:chicken and bacon sandwich on ciabatta bread: this was quite tasty, good pieces of chicken that are cut into small strips and the fat is removed (which you don't get everywhere). there is some lettuce and tomato on the ciabatta. Today we went for a bigger lunch:

chicken and bacon sandwich on ciabatta bread: this was quite tasty, good pieces of chicken that are cut into small strips and the fat is removed (which you don't get everywhere). there is some lettuce and tomato on the ciabatta. Comes with home fries which are tasty and not too much.

5-spices pork ribs: the 5-spice sauce was really nice, a bit spicy but not really spicy..just a very nice flavor. the pork doesn't fall off the bone which would have been nicer, but overall it was good.
