今天聖誕前夕想到一些特別地方來享受個下午茶,但各處皆人頭湧湧,突然想到有一個地方很多年未去過,於是走到之路邊餐廳來 懷舊一番。到了後發覺原來有不少同路人。中午時份已坐滿一半人,差点連車位也沒有。 本來想飲盧雲堡啤酒 ,原來已沒有賣十多年了。 但沙爹仍然是這裏的主菜。於是叫了一打半牛半豬沙爹。仍然是源用 舊式炭爐上。味道不錯吧。再叫了一客 炒貴刁。 雖然味道一般但也可以接受。 這樣的路邊餐室 已經買少見少了, 所以仍然有吸引力。

同店員傾左兩句先知佢係澳洲品種,全身有黑白啡三隻顏色,非常可愛。於影相同傾計期間,食物已不知不覺地上桌(原來舖頭仲有一個男侍應同一個廚子),於是就坐番埋位用膳。
炭燒羊肉串,完全無落過孜然粉(最唔喜歡食孜然粉),羊肉無羶味(我最喜歡食羶味),所以味道唔算突出,反而連炭燒爐上桌風味就一流(記得不時轉下串肉,唔係會燒燶一邊)。
春卷,即叫即炸,夠熱,無油抑味,一食就知唔係萬年油。
椰子咖喱汁燒雞跟白飯,咖喱唔辣,有椰香味,燒雞竟然唔鞋,以冰鮮雞既情況黎睇,雞應該係一開工就響雪櫃拎出黎,用最自然既方法解凍,只不過係汁同飯既份量比較少,唔係好夠喉,而飯亦比較稔,用番少D水黎煮會好DD。
埋單連加一$231,包場又有得動物大觀園,總括黎講係性價比之選。

椰子雞,本身職員諗住汁另上比我地(本身驚太辣),不過最後廚房忘了😅 好彩個汁唔辣,同埋好好味!佢呢個會配白飯,但個飯份量算細碟,勝在雞個份量算足同好入味,夠腍!呢到有差不多4份1隻雞,價錢95蚊,呢個價都值!😋😋

踏入9中冇咁曬,可以帶埋亞狗去食下飯,今日黎到呢間餐廳,試下食印尼餐,食品種類唔算太多,但環境真係唔錯,周圍種滿哂樹,好舒服。叫左兩碟飯,燒雞同羊肉,雞肉佢哋用雪雞脾,煮得有d鞋,但勝在咖哩汁超好味,羊方面份量比教較少,但咖哩汁味道好出色,因為羊肉唔夠食,我叫多左個炸肉卷,呢個肉卷好好食,多香料又用腐皮包住黎炸,薄薄地,一啖一件啱啱好。同場加演有隻天竹鼠,佢好嗲人好可愛呀。

這餐廳絕對是我的童年回憶。從小每當weekend的時候,爸爸媽媽也會帶我們來這裡食午飯。那時我們會在停車場旁的小樂園玩耍。那裡有slide, seesaw and swing給小朋友玩。現在人大了,也定時定候回來吃一吃這個童年時覺得很好吃的印尼餐廳。現在水準也不錯,若份量可以再多點點就會更好,所以希望它可以一直做落去!所以這裡絕對係那動人時光,必須要常回看的!!

再來一個印尼炒河粉, 用上是泰越式河粉, 質感較韌, 但入口嚼勁更好。蛋絲, 芽菜, 少許肉碎及紅乾蔥。論炒功, 不好, 河粉太碎。不過調味不錯, 吃得到河粉滑韌, 蛋絲軟香, 芽菜爽口, 有肉香與醬油香, 加上惹味紅蔥乾。

喜歡吃辣的還有這個, 是餐廳特來的印尼辣醬, 輕辣有鹹香如豆辨醬, 但略有蝦膏鹹鮮。

要追回小時候的味道不容易, 畢竟人事已變, 食材質素下跌。但最少不希望心機給磨蝕, 加上餐廳自家地方, 根本不愁租金, 只可能機會成本較多而已。要守得著本業, 還是要下一點功夫!

星期六的早上,在沙田完成了一件《大事》後,便步行前往沙田茵.近三十度的氣溫,加上一點微雨,去到沙田茵已一身是汗,作為飯前運動吧!先來一杯冰凍生啤降溫.再來沙嗲羊及豬.沙嗲豬串前有一粒肥肉,可算錦上添花.最後的印尼炒麵,來得稍遲,味道只是一般及比較油.同場加映一隻貓一隻狗,在露天環境下,更覺閒適.

My family has been coming to this place for YEARS!

It is a getaway; almost like stepping into another world, where you can just forget about the stress of everyday life.

This isn't a fancy place that boasts the luxuries of most other places people may go to dine, but this is what adds to the beauty of coming out to Shatin inn to eat.

My family can NEVER get enough of the Nasi Goreng and we ALWAYS order a dozen satays normally splitting it half and half between chicken, lamb, beef or pork. The Satays come with a beautiful nutty sauce and my description of it does not do it justice.

Another dish we always get is the Gado Gado salad - The combination of the cucumber, bean sprouts, egg and prawn crackers dressed in its special peanut sauce makes it an excellent healthy addition however this dish tastes SO good it's almost sinful.
No other indonesian restaurant that I have been to has been able to live up to my high expectations that has been raised by Shatin inn. Another item on their menu that this holds true to is the Jendol Bing.

Other places just fail to get the right balance of creaminess and sweetness as this place. Though this is a drink you should definately NOT overdo! It is very filling.

In a nut shell, Shatin Inn is a great place to come to with family or friends. The only drawback is that it's outdoor seating which means mozzies may be pesky during the summer.

If I had to pick another flaw...it would be that this place has now ruined other indonesian food dining experiences for me as I will always compare it to the scrumptious dishes I have experienced here.
