Please be warned:1. Strange service: Place is full of incompetent staff. Someone put a bottle of ketchup at the table soon after we'd ordered. We had a cesar salad to start with so ketchup was unnecessary so we assumed it was for the fries as main meal. Ketchup got taken away after starter. And brought back shortly after. A waiter tried to deliver dessert to our table while we were eating our main meals and just looked totally lost but faltered at the table for a long minute. Staff just walking

Please be warned:

1. Strange service: Place is full of incompetent staff. Someone put a bottle of ketchup at the table soon after we'd ordered. A waiter tried to deliver dessert to our table while we were eating our main meals and just looked totally lost but faltered at the table for a long minute. Staff just walking by and just looking at the finished plates.

2. Lasagne: Obviously microwaved with very dry bits on the side - not too much of a problem if actually was good quality but it tasted just like a frozen ready meal. Eat East is far better quality. Shards of bones (3) in the lasagne - quality meat? I don't think so. Worst part - the rank, warm salad covered in garlicky oil on the side. The microbial content in it instantly made me want to throw up. I couldn't even finish my lasagne which says a lot as I have never left any lasagne from any plate in my life.

3. Mussels and fries: Only 15 mussels which were just sank in a cream and onion mixture. No wine just cream and more cream. Fries - there were about 14 very small over fried fries. Browness highlighting the need for an oil change in the fryer. Only saving grace were that the mussels were fresh. phew.

4. 1 starter, 2 mains and a bottle of water - $550 = pricey and not worth any of it.

5. I had to leave the offending place promptly as I fell extremely ill and needed to vomit.

6. Go there at your own risk. Writing on one of these websites is really not my thing, but I wanted to warn people out there of the dangers involved with dining at this restaurant.

p.s I have written this in the most composed way as possible. I am a reasonable person.
My real sentiments are that this is the worst restaurant I have ever been to and no one deserves to go there.
Unimpressive.

紐西蘭牛扒: 我地要左5成熟...我好欣賞廚師的水準, 因為好多時我食的牛扒, 要5成, 佢都會煮得太熟...不過呢個廚師煮得好好...唔會太「鞋」, 好易入口....

紅酒: 因為牛扒同紅酒, 而呢次朋友仔揀的HOUSE WINE好易入口..唔難飲...不過我唔係好清楚係邊一隻....

Waiter/Waitress的態度都好好, 環境都唔錯的, 近海...不過略嫌比較早收, 因為我地食食下的時候, 已經見到佢地收檯, 而時間係9:00幾....

如果同朋友食飯, 傾下計, 都係一個唔錯的選擇, 而同男/女朋友...我覺得可以選擇其他地方, 呢個OK, 但唔係話真係好好....

Good people,A recent visit to Stanley is not complete without a hearty hefty and huge meal at Spiaggia. I have been there before and Rolf the owner recognised me from the previous visits. Good people,

A recent visit to Stanley is not complete without a hearty hefty and huge meal at Spiaggia. I have been there before and Rolf the owner recognised me from the previous visits. He was quick to offer a suggestion - the Steak Sandwich - which I happliy accepted. It was a only a few minutes until an oversized steak sandwich with chips and salad arrived. I often regard a steak sandwich with suspision - I tend to wonder why a perfectly good steak needs to be hidden inside two pieces of bread. My fears were unfounded - the steak was thick and round and had no bone nor gristle. It was all steak, all edible, all good. We are often faced with problems in life and some problems are good to have - like how does one eat a sandwich which is too big to politely fit in ones mouth. The plate was crowded with a generous supply of chips, also known as French Fries. The chips at Spiaggia are crispy with a firm outer shell that has a rough texture of crunchy potato bits on the outside. I like to use a lot of salt on the chips at Spiaggia because the rough texture tends to hold the salt and create a combination of seasoning, potato and clean light oil. The salad was colourful with an assortment of exotic leaves, shapes and delicacies that made me pause and wonder. The entire salad was genorously dosed in Balsamic vinegar.

八月下旬‧有雨星期四,晚上,不知何解,來了赤柱。忽然下大雨,見這裡人不多,來喝杯酒,再上路。已經轉了習慣的我,不喝啤酒了。但見有意大利汽酒,來一杯。酸度夠,不甜,乾身,喝起來感覺清新。泡沫不弱,更添爽口口感。同一天空下,同一杯Prosecco,只是在不同的地方而已。歡樂時光只到七時,莫非赤柱人士都是早睡早起的?

星期四,晚上,不知何解,來了赤柱。

忽然下大雨,見這裡人不多,來喝杯酒,再上路。

已經轉了習慣的我,不喝啤酒了。但見有意大利汽酒,來一杯。

酸度夠,不甜,乾身,喝起來感覺清新。泡沫不弱,更添爽口口感。

同一天空下,同一杯Prosecco,只是在不同的地方而已。

The Swedish Meatball Spaghetti was bright and rich.

A generous portion of pasta with numerable meatballs and a side order of creamy sauce that allows the hungry or fussy diner to add as much or as little according to their taste. I tipped the whole bowl into my pasta to enjoy the rich fullness. The meatballs were slightly spicy with a full meaty beefy flavour and a ground solid beef texture - there were no grisly bits or waste - it was all meat. Like all ground beef or hamburger, the meatballs were cooked so as to be presented as well-done. I really liked the huge chunk of parmesan cheese, it conveyed such a feeling of trust and generosity, and gave me a feeling that I was welcome to have as much as I liked. So I did, I added about 1/2 a cup! The meal was served hot and steaming from the busy kitchen within a surprisingly reasonable time.

The meal satisfied my hunger and several layers of needs on Maslow's Hierarchy.

Rib Eye Bistecca w/ Peppercorn Sauce:為紐西蘭肉眼扒配胡椒汁。肉眼扒嫩滑,但牛味欠奉,五成熟的牛扒切起來擠出的血水甚多。
胡椒汁辣味不足,但卻異常甜,最後用上 Dijon 芥茉蘸吃才像樣哩。
Cauliflower Cheese:芝士椰菜花為肉眼扒的配菜。把椰菜花灼熟,再鋪以芝士焗香便成。芝士味沒有想像中全滲進椰菜花內,但味道仍好,清淡中帶點香濃,不錯。

Linguine con Vongole al Salto:為香辣蜆肉扁意粉。蜆肉份量不算多,但入口鮮甜;扁意粉軟硬適中,芝士及蒜香味均濃郁,還帶點微辣,口感及味道比肉眼扒好得多。

French Fries:扁意粉的配菜。薯條炸得香脆,薯仔味濃,還帶點鹹味,很好。但始於不及上趟在 agnès b. 吃的那麼突出。


整體而言,食物質素屬中上,但大路的肉眼扒卻處理失準,而且沒有套餐選擇,飲品要另點。雖然埋單兩位也不過三百元,但始於不及鄰旁的「赤柱大街」划算。

找到賣beligian leffe 既餐廳,諗住好開心可以一路飲啤酒一路食pizza.叫了最基本的番茄+芝士pizza, 呢的係愈簡單愈考功夫。聞落好香,睇落好食,點知一啖咬落去,淡而無味,個底一的都冇焗香,好失望。仲收人咁鬼貴,成百幾蚊,好唔得。我即時懷念grappas、peak cafe、jack's、ziti...呢的先至叫pizza.都仲未提成晚有好多虫, 一隻仲飛落左我杯啤酒.

下半場dinner~ 因為食食下覺得太熱~都係要去返間有冷氣ge餐廳!呢帶幾間都試過~所以揀左呢間新新地ge食!我地淨係order左個set + stella artois 個set有沙律 + rib eye steak~個沙律好好味, 有新鮮olive同埋一d咸咸地ge cheese!再加上沙律醋! 正!!!相對個rib eye就差左少少...無咩肉味好彩side dish係真正薯仔cut出黎ge薯條+包心菜~ yummy!呢度個chef好funny~佢好似聖誕老人~亦好鍾意用唔咸唔淡ge廣東話同人交流!

一行四人,響望哂成條赤柱大街嘅十幾間餐廳後,結果揀咗呢間,因為佢門面比較光晚,而又咁啱有位。其他食客差唔多清一色係洋人,不過我哋都係響外國番黎,唔會輸蝕!問題係其中一個男待應,睇落似東南亞人,同佢落單,中文唔識聽,英文都聽得好吃力(chocolate 聽錯 strawberry),點睇佢都唔適宜做一間大部份客人都係洋人嘅餐廳嘅待應。首先我叫咗個 Ben & Jerry's 嘅朱古力奶昔,一個朋友叫雲呢拿,另外兩個叫龍蝦湯。佢哋話個湯好香好濃,而我個奶昔就一般。跟住上前菜,係一個亞洲拼盤。有一串雞沙嗲、一隻蝦春卷、一隻印度 samosa、一件三文魚刺身。跟住有一塊生菜載住嘅牛肉絲沙律,好似生菜包同 fajita (需然係墨西哥嘢黎)嘅混種。仲有一個用紫色生菜載住嘅粉絲沙律,辣得好好味,好似係落咗泰式辣椒同魚露嘅中越泰混合菜式。我哋又叫咗一盤青口,睇落有成卅隻咁多,浸響半盤好重蕃茄味,類似意大利菜湯嘅汁裡面。主菜就有三道。最最好食嘅係泰式綠架喱鴨肉。架喱鴨已經唔常有,裡面落嘅香料亦唔似平常綠架喱,又有一種咬落似節瓜,但係係一粒粒嘅瓜類物體。非常之香椰子味,辣得啱啱好。肉又多,但係冇肉淨係撈

首先我叫咗個 Ben & Jerry's 嘅朱古力奶昔,一個朋友叫雲呢拿,另外兩個叫龍蝦湯。佢哋話個湯好香好濃,而我個奶昔就一般。

跟住上前菜,係一個亞洲拼盤。有一串雞沙嗲、一隻蝦春卷、一隻印度 samosa、一件三文魚刺身。跟住有一塊生菜載住嘅牛肉絲沙律,好似生菜包同 fajita (需然係墨西哥嘢黎)嘅混種。仲有一個用紫色生菜載住嘅粉絲沙律,辣得好好味,好似係落咗泰式辣椒同魚露嘅中越泰混合菜式。

我哋又叫咗一盤青口,睇落有成卅隻咁多,浸響半盤好重蕃茄味,類似意大利菜湯嘅汁裡面。

主菜就有三道。最最好食嘅係泰式綠架喱鴨肉。架喱鴨已經唔常有,裡面落嘅香料亦唔似平常綠架喱,又有一種咬落似節瓜,但係係一粒粒嘅瓜類物體。非常之香椰子味,辣得啱啱好。肉又多,但係冇肉淨係撈汁都好正!

跟住有個意大利闊條麵。呢個其實一般,我嫌個麵煮得太軟,不過我相信有人會鍾意。料就有落足,不過四個人分就兩三啖食哂。旁邊跟埋一堆田園沙律,我哋冇人識得欣賞樹葉同草,不過好多外國人鍾意,係貴過凱撒沙律嘅嘢黎。

最後有個好鹹嘅印尼炒飯。個飯身好深啡色,應該係鼓油太多。料好似好多,但係啲味俾鹹味冚哂。而塊蝦片就係林哂嘅…幾唔掂下。

呢間餐廳有一架投影電視同一架細啲嘅電視。嗰晚啱啱有一班大約廿個澳洲人響度睇欖球比賽直播,旁邊就播溫布頓女單決賽,都叫做好好嘅聚會地方。

總括黎講,呢間餐廳嘅菜色好獨特,相信唔會太多地方搵得到。雖然個炒飯真係強差人意,但係個架喱就真係頂呱呱。佢個餐牌有好多選擇,唔叫印尼炒飯就一定有其他好食嘅嘢。附近其他所謂餐廳其實好多都係酒吧,係呢間睇落似樣啲,唔會嘈到傾唔到偈。

6月28日(星期日)晚,原本和女友去沙田參與舊同事聚會,不過女友是日感到不適,惟有爽約了。但難得這天是假期,女友便提議去赤柱一遊。我們坐巴士入赤柱,刻意在赤柱炮台總站下車,散步至聖士提反灣,不過在路上,女友未曾吃過晚飯就已經餵飽了沿途的蚊子,去到聖士提反灣才發現女友的一雙玉臂竟被叮了十多處,原本打算逗留一會,但是女友感到非常痕癢,於是我們趕往市中心,立刻買支“無比膏”給女友搽來止癢,女友被蚊叮的程度嚴重到要將“無比膏”當hand cream搽!之後我們行去赤柱大街找尋吃晚飯的地方,行至海旁近美利樓處,被一間裝修的簡潔光猛的餐廳吸引著,我們來回數次大街和商量過後,決定來這裡試試。正當我們準備步入店內之際,迎面而來的waitress竟然有點面熟,她笑著說認得我們,而我亦很快就記得曾經在灣仔的Dog House見過這位友善的女侍應,她帶我們入內坐下和給予餐牌後,還跟我們談了一會。這裡的食物分開為appetitzer、Soup、Pasta、Pizza & Main Course等,還有迎合遊客的Asian food!我和女友商量過後,決定點一客燒羊頸排和白酒忌廉牛仔片伴瑞士薯餅,因為女友不舒服

白酒忌廉牛仔片配瑞士薯餅:白酒忌廉汁香濃幼滑,味道偏濃,加了不少香草去煮更令這個汁美味倍增;牛仔片味道不算突出,肉質雖不算嫩滑但總算不韌;至於薯餅煎得不算油膩,香口鬆軟,薯味濃厚,但不知因何命名做“瑞士薯餅”,難道是用瑞士來的薯仔做的?不過我們未把牛仔片全部吃掉就已經消滅了薯餅,於是問那位認識的waitress有沒有蒜蓉飽之類的包點,她善意地“提醒”我們蒜蓉飽份量頗多,於是贈送了一客法包給我們,我們就用法包來醮其餘的白酒忌廉汁和牛仔片,我還自製了伊冕士牛仔片法包
!味道當然很好,結果我們把整碟食物吃掉之餘更幾乎幫人家“洗碟”!
燒羊頸排:羊頸排有四件,外形和一般羊架沒有分別,我們要medium well,上檯時也是五至六成熟,羊頸排呈鮮嫩的粉紅色,肉質嫩滑不韌,肥膏並不多,羊味濃厚,可惜並不夠羶味!甜薯爽脆鮮甜,口感和味道都很像南瓜,椰菜新鮮爽口和經過略炒令味道更佳,不過略嫌油多了些!

吃完主菜後,我們見甜品亦相當吸引,於是點了一客熱蘋果酥。蘋果酥是一塊薄薄的酥餅,上面均勻和精巧地鋪滿一塊塊的蘋果片,焗起後再放上一個雪糕球上面。酥餅香脆鬆軟,蘋果片雖然焗得有點乾,但仍然很美味,女友一個人已吃掉3/4個,雪糕球則是一般!

整頓晚飯,熱情友善的女侍應祇要不是忙著,就會過來和我們閒談,期間見到我拿著數碼單鏡反光相機拍照,更主動邀約我和她的朋友一起去影相。但她的熱情令我有點怕,亦為免女友誤會,祇好婉拒了她的好意。

他店遇故知,被女侍(應)(熱)情(地)招(待)!
